02:07any kind of discrimination.

02:43The UN authority also warned about the risks of disease outbreaks such as acute diarrhea,
02:49hepatitis, and among others, which can be prevented by vaccination.

03:05of the occupation forces.
03:10Pope Francis called shameful the international community's inability to put an end to the

03:17The Pope also said that violence brings more violence and years of conflict since he has

04:38Welcome back to From the South.
04:58Haiti condemned the deportation of its citizens from the Dominican Republic, whose governments
05:02announced last week that it will repatriate up to 10,000 undocumented migrants per week.
05:09At least six trucks full of Haitian migrants were reported at the Migrant Reception Center
05:16in Haina, some 20 kilometers from Santo Domingo, before being transferred to the border for
05:23the deportation after being detained in massive operations over the weekend in various parts
05:28of the country.
05:29The Asian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dominique Dupont, called the scenes brutal on her account
05:35of the social network X and further assured that this migration policy of the Dominican
05:41government contravenes international human rights standards as well as the imperative
05:48of respect for human dignity.
05:55Let's look at some facts about Haiti.
05:58The country has been facing alarming levels of attacks by criminal groups, a growing humanitarian
06:04crisis and an internal and external exodus for years, and the government's inability
06:09to restore stability.
06:11As a result of the violence, more than 160,000 Haitians have been internally displaced in
06:18the Pearl Springs region alone, struggling to get by in a country where many government
06:25institutions have ceased to function.
06:28Despite criticism, a force returns to Haiti and calls to stop deportations in the face
06:34of the crisis and insecurity in that country.
06:38Last year, 216,000 Haitians were deported from neighboring states.
06:47The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, assured that priority will be provided through
06:51strengthening investigations and intelligence centers in security matters.
06:55The head of state indicated that the Secretary of Security and Civil Protection, Omar Garcia
07:01Hartfox, will meet with state authorities to define issues of coordination and support
07:08in view of the new security strategies.
07:11Concerning the plan, several authorities will travel to Sinaloa to agree on joint actions
07:16regarding the increase in violence.
07:18In the meantime, Garcia assured that investigations into the murder of the mayor of Chilpanxingo,
07:27Alejandro Arcos, are continuing in order to find those accountable for the crime.
07:38In Argentina, students took over the University of Buenos Aires on Tuesday to protest against
07:43President Javier Millet's vetoes on the education funding law.
07:47The students of the Faculties of Psychology, Philosophy, and Letters resolved to continue
07:55with their pressure measures for 48 hours and to participate in a demonstration planned
08:01for this Wednesday in front of the Congress.
08:05For its part, the teachers' union rejected the 6.8% salary increase approved by the executive,
08:12considering that it is not enough to cover their needs in the face of rising inflation.
08:18University students also condemned the closure of the National Mental Health Hospital, La
08:23Huerta, Buenaparte, where 612 people lost their jobs and thousands of patients will
08:30be left without care.
08:36On Monday, the President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reaffirmed he will keep up the battle
08:40against those who disregard laws and all forms of corruption with no hesitation of
08:46any kind.
08:47The head of state described those abusing their privilege and disregarding laws as corruption
08:54and degenerate.
08:55Maduro then assured that they are the second great enemy of the country's life.
09:01In addition, the President highlighted not only the permanent conspiracy against the
09:05Bolivarian nation, but also the damage caused by those taking advantage of the process.
09:11He is corrupt, a crooked person.
09:24He is someone who has taken advantage of the power given to him by the revolution or the
09:28people, to benefit himself personally, to destroy, to betray the people.
09:32That is why I launched this week with such force, because I am not abandoning this battle.
09:37You can be sure Maria Antonieta, you can be sure, that I am committed to the fight
09:42against those insiders.
09:44Against corruption in all its forms, whatever it may look like, wherever it may be.
09:51Brazil held municipal elections in more than 5,500 municipalities.
09:56According to the data published by the Superior Electoral Court, the Social Democratic Party
10:02and the Brazilian Democratic Movement were in the lead.
10:06A slim lead left the current neoliberal mayor, Ricardo Nunes, and the leader of the homeless
10:17movement, Guilherme Boulos, in the second round of the elections for the mayor of Sao
10:22Paulo.
10:23The first has the support of former President Jair Bolsonaro, while the second is backed
10:28by President Lula da Silva.
10:30I am very confident in the decision of the people of Sao Paulo.
10:35I am very confident that the people of Sao Paulo will opt for change and that change,
10:40which today was a majority at the polls, is represented in the second round by Marta and
10:45me.
10:46Today we have the largest progressive front in the history of the city of Sao Paulo.
10:50Of those who have the conviction, the glint in their eye, that Sao Paulo deserves more.
10:56The result left Pablo Marco out of the second round.
11:00Marco's second letter generated cracks in the extreme right with his candidacy to govern
11:05Brazil's largest city.
11:07During the campaign, he was hit with a chair in a television debate while attacking his
11:12opponents.
11:13Marco will have to explain to the Brazilian justice system the propagation of lies to
11:18harm the left candidate, Guilherme Boulos.
11:22What happened in the debates was a cycle of violence, making politics a tool for entertainment
11:28that is disconnected from the proposals and the problems that we all suffer.
11:33So what we feel is missing in the debates are adults in the room, people debating how
11:37we solve the problems we have today in Sao Paulo.
11:41I feel a great regret in recognizing that social networks are placing influencers and
11:46people disconnected from the political problems as leaders.
11:51Sao Paulo is considered a thermometer for politics in the rest of the country.
11:59Sao Paulo is the economic center of the country, the largest city in the country.
12:04Everything revolves around Sao Paulo, so the impact of the choice of the city of Sao Paulo
12:08and the state of Sao Paulo is very great within the country.
12:12In South America and in the world, Sao Paulo is a city that is evaluated all over the world
12:17to know how Brazil is doing.
12:19Economically, I am talking about, not as a landscape, but as a beauty.
12:24Economically, the city of Sao Paulo is a reference.
12:28The elections position the Democratic Socialist Party as the party with the largest number
12:34of mayoralties.
12:36The center-right organization, whose action oscillates between government and opposition,
12:41has greater negotiating weight and will be a contending ground for the 2026 presidential
12:46elections.
12:47Within the 888 mayoralties won by the Democratic Socialist Party, the Brazilian Democratic
12:52Movement, party of the former de facto President Michel Temer and Progresistas, both with similar
12:59ideological spectrum and fields of action to the Democratic Socialist Party, appear
13:04with expressive votes.
13:05Meanwhile, the Workers' Party achieved a slight improvement in the number of municipalities
13:10it will command, while the extreme right, with Bolsonaro at its head, reaffirms itself
13:16as a force with a strong support base.
13:19Next October 27th, 15 capitals will host the ballotage.
13:46Welcome back.
14:00Russian President Vladimir Putin heads the Commonwealth of Independence State Summits
14:06to address regional, international and security issues.
14:09During his speech, President Putin stressed that they will pay great attention to the
14:14economic issues and their projections for the further expansions of trade and investments
14:20from the CIS.
14:21During the meeting, the leaders discussed the results of the Russian ensurementship
14:27of the organization, which in 2025 will be held by Tajikistan, as well as measures to
14:33intensify the work of the community and its executive structures.
14:42Cooperation within the Commonwealth of Independent States is one of the main priorities of the
14:46Russian Federation's foreign policy.
14:49For us, the countries of the Commonwealth are our closest neighbors, friends and strategic
14:54partners.
14:55And naturally, we are committed to strengthening our cooperation in every possible way.
15:01This is precisely what the concept of the Russian Presidency in 2024 and the large-scale
15:06plan of related events is aimed at.
15:12And on the sidelines of the Summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Russian
15:17President Vladimir Putin held bilateral talks with Azerbaijan's President Ilyan Aliyev and
15:23Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
15:25But in price economic relations with both countries, a note that trade turnover with
15:32Armenia might reach an all-time high this year.
15:35Bilateral meetings aimed to resolve tensions between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
15:44I'd like to note right away that relations are developing positively.
15:49We noted this already during the official visit to Azerbaijan.
15:55The trade turnover is 4-something, 4.3 billion US dollars.
16:02Our direct investments in the Azerbaijani economy amount to more than 4 billion.
16:07There are many good and interesting projects in the field of energy and infrastructural
16:12development.
16:17In this regard, Azerbaijan's President Ilyan Aliyev highlighted strengthening of trade
16:22relations with Russia.
16:27After your state visit, the dynamics of our bilateral relations is quite noticeable.
16:33There were already many contacts at the level of representatives of various structures,
16:38members of the government within the framework of the implementation of those decisions that
16:42were reached in August in Baku.
16:45And today is also a good opportunity, as you noted, to go through these issues again, because
16:51the agenda today is quite extensive.
16:56Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan welcomed the ongoing active political dialogue between
17:02Moscow and Yerevan.
17:08I am very glad to state that during the last few months we have had quite an active political
17:12dialogue.
17:15Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk came to us in Yerevan and we not only held
17:20a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation, but also talked about practically
17:25all the issues on our agenda.
17:30In Sweden, scientist British-Canadian girlfriend Hinton and U.S. young Hope Hill won the Nobel
17:37Prize in Physics for their pioneering work in the development of machine learning.
17:43One of their lecturers held a fun conversation about their current achievements on a press
17:51briefing.
17:52I think it will have a huge influence.
17:55It will be comparable with the Industrial Revolution.
17:58But instead of exceeding people in physical strength, it's going to exceed people in intellectual
18:04ability.
18:06We have no experience of what it's like to have things smarter than us.
18:11And it's going to be wonderful in many respects.
18:15In areas like health care, it's going to give us much better health care.
18:19In almost all industries, it's going to make them more efficient.
18:23People are going to be able to do the same amount of work with an AI assistant in much
18:27less time.
18:28It will mean huge improvements in productivity, but we also have to worry about a number of
18:36possible bad consequences, particularly the threat of these things getting out of control.
18:49On Thursday, a grand ceremony was held for the retirement of outstanding Spanish football
19:06player Andres Iniesta after 24 years of a brilliant career.
19:11The 40-year-old player will be on a coaching course soon as he's planning to train young
19:17generations.
19:18In early 2010s, Iniesta earned a World Cup, two European Championships, four UEFA Champions
19:27League titles and nine La Liga trophies.
19:30In addition, the footballer was among the nominees for the 2010 World Cup Golden Boot
19:38Award and Ballon d'Or.
19:41In all, the midfield player had reached 32 trophies at La Granada during his 22 years
19:50at the Barcelona club.
19:53Today Iniesta shared with his fans some statements to express his feelings at his retirement
19:58event.
20:02That's why today I feel very proud of the journey, along with all the people who have
20:11accompanied me.
20:14I'm very happy I achieved the prize, the dream.
20:25The ultimate goal of becoming a professional soccer player, because I want to be a footballer.
20:55I want to be a footballer, I want to be a footballer, I want to be a footballer, I want
21:10to be a footballer, I want to be a footballer, I want to be a footballer, I want to be a
21:20footballer, I want to be a footballer, I want to be a footballer, I want to be a footballer.
21:50I want to be a footballer, I want to be a footballer, I want to be a footballer, I want
21:57to be a footballer, I want to be a footballer, I want to be a footballer.
