00:00 And then obviously with like rundown situations anytime where it might be 12 P, you know,
00:04 putting me in there is this a great little combination we have for sure.
00:08 How is what UCF did Saturday going to help you with deception and stuff?
00:16 It's going to help us stay disciplined all week.
00:18 Now we know we got to stay disciplined with our eyes all week because we saw what happened.
00:22 We thought we were disciplined with them during the week last week, come game day, obviously
00:26 not.
00:27 So there's a lot of stuff we got to fix just with our eyes really.
00:28 It's all little stuff.
00:29 It's all about us, not really the opponent.
00:32 Was that the overall kind of takeaway just from watching film from that game?
00:35 Was there anything else that stood out?
00:36 No, really the main issue is just our discipline with our eyes.
00:40 Guys getting greedy, just trying to make plays.
00:41 We really just got to stay the course and just do your job.
00:47 Is that hard to practice?
00:48 No, actually not at all.
00:49 I mean, it's just having your eyes in the right spot every single rep.
00:53 It's really just a habit you have to create with your eyes and having the right reads.
00:57 It's really stuff we do every week during practice and last week we didn't do a bad
01:00 job at it, but come Saturday guys just got a little greedy during the game, me included.
01:06 Is it tough though not to try to take some of those chances when they present themselves
01:10 and you think that they're there and they go away quick?
01:13 Oh, for sure.
01:14 It definitely was there.
01:15 Coach B has a saying, he's like, "If you think you can make it, you take the shot, but if
01:19 you don't make it, that's you.
01:21 It's your ass."
01:23 For sure, if guys think that they can make that play, they're definitely going to and
01:27 it's great if they make it, but if they don't, then it just goes right back to you should
01:31 have been disciplined and just following your rules.
01:34 The Sun-Kansas has a couple different quarterbacks that they might play.
01:37 How are you guys preparing for that?
01:39 I think just out of their production, I think it's pretty similar.
01:42 They still run the same type of offense regardless of who the quarterback is.
01:46 So obviously we got to prepare.
01:48 I know the starter that's down, he's elite with his legs too.
01:52 So we really just got to do a good job containing them, staying disciplined to our rules.
01:56 They might have some trick stuff ready for us too, so we just got to be disciplined the
02:00 whole game with our eyes.
02:01 Jason, you guys were on your way to another goal line stand on Saturday.
02:05 I don't even want to talk about it.
02:09 As they build, maybe you almost got there, but as they build, how does the momentum from
02:14 first down to second to third start to mount?
02:17 I think literally every down we just play harder and harder.
02:21 Not saying we don't play hard first down, but obviously first down we get a stop, boom,
02:24 now we're ready to play even harder.
02:26 Come second down, boom, third down comes, we're ready.
02:28 Then obviously fourth down, let's get this done.
02:31 So obviously we fell a little bit short on Saturday down at the goal line, got them down
02:36 to the fourth, but they had a good play call down there.
02:39 They got us with our eyes.
02:40 When you guys had a successful goal line stand and then almost come close to that, what does
02:44 that do for the confidence of you guys when you have your back against the wall like that?
02:48 I think it's just all a mentality when we're down there.
02:51 It's just kind of like this is what we do.
02:53 We all tough, we all physical, so this is really the time to show it because there is
02:57 no special play call we got to get into for this goal line player, this formation.
03:02 It's really just play hard, play physical, be more physical than the guy in front of
03:06 you.
03:07 Why do you think you guys had bad eyes at times?
03:11 What goes into that?
03:12 Just being greedy, just trying to make plays that maybe we thought were there, trying to
03:17 make game-changing plays, which is great when you actually can do it, but when it's not,
03:21 it looks really bad.
03:22 I would say it's just being undisciplined with that, not really anything the coaches
03:26 did per se.
03:27 The coaches had us pretty much on point all week with our eyes and staying disciplined,
03:32 so it's really just up to us.
03:34 We got to make that decision come Saturday to not look down at any opponent and play
03:39 them like it's the Super Bowl.
03:40 Is it?
03:41 To know it's two plays, 140 yards, to know it's just two simple plays.
03:46 Does that give you guys a little more confidence this week in practice or going into the game?
03:51 To be honest, it just pisses us off, really, to know that they had two plays for all that.
03:57 I didn't even know it was 170.
03:58 Honestly, that just makes us mad, knowing that we just left that on the table.
04:03 Opponents seeing that are definitely going to think that's a way they can use and play
04:06 against us, but going forward, we're going to be a lot more disciplined and a lot more
04:10 on point with that stuff, so I don't see that happening again.
04:13 What's your thoughts on Kansas?
