00:00 The biggest week of earnings of the whole quarter is here.
00:04 Not only that, we also have the Fed's preferred
00:07 inflation index as well as GDP.
00:09 It is a jam-packed week when it comes
00:11 to economic indicators and financials.
00:14 I'm Gav Blacksburg from Wolf Financial.
00:15 I'm here with Evan from Stock Market News.
00:17 Let's dive right into this crazy week of earnings.
00:20 I'm pulling up the earnings right here
00:21 and turning it over to you, Evan,
00:23 to tell me what stands out to you the most from this sheet.
00:27 - Yeah, first of all, the biggest thing that's standing out
00:29 is how full it is.
00:30 We are jam-packed with earnings.
00:32 As we were saying there,
00:33 this is the busiest week of this cycle.
00:36 Names standing out the most to me
00:37 are these mega cap tech names.
00:39 We have everyone but Apple.
00:40 Normally they would be coming in this week,
00:42 but Amazon, Facebook, Microsoft, and Google
00:45 are definitely the biggest ones standing out to me
00:48 at the start, Wolf.
00:49 I would love to kind of hear some of your thoughts.
00:51 There's a lot of the smaller ones
00:52 that I think are very fascinating,
00:54 but we'd love to hear which ones
00:54 are standing out to you at the start.
00:56 - Yeah, Credit Suisse, not Credit Suisse.
00:58 Well, yes, Credit Suisse.
00:59 - Credit Suisse is on there.
01:00 Both of them, First Republic.
01:02 We're gonna get a lot of bank information tomorrow.
01:04 - Yeah, Credit Suisse and First Republic
01:05 I think is pretty interesting.
01:07 Not a fan of First Republic at the moment.
01:09 I think that there's a lot of problems there.
01:10 So excited to see how that one works out.
01:12 GM being on here as well.
01:14 That's a name that we talked about a lot this year.
01:15 It's not the classic sexy name,
01:18 but when you look at a GM stock chart,
01:20 it certainly I think has been outperforming,
01:23 as I checked, right?
01:24 Yeah, let me check.
01:25 Oh, I guess a pullback from those,
01:27 a crazy run in February that we were riding to the upside,
01:29 but still interested to see how they end up reporting.
01:32 And then just things like Roku, right?
01:34 Snap, they typically have these like 10, 20,
01:36 30% earning moves.
01:37 Teladoc, like this is that week
01:39 where we'd often come to the corner and go,
01:41 "All right, we're gonna have these 30% moves."
01:43 You know, Pinterest, First Solar,
01:45 just a number of names that continue to stand out
01:47 and I think pull a lot of interest.
01:48 Enphase, so yeah, yes, there's big names,
01:51 but these smaller names definitely
01:53 are gonna be getting attention.
01:54 Do you want us to roll into--
01:56 - Very quickly on this one,
01:57 I think there's also a lot of very big traditional names
01:59 as well that we haven't touched on.
02:01 McDonald's, Visa, Chipotle,
02:04 not really in that same category,
02:05 but Snapchat has had some crazy moves.
02:07 And then also the oil names,
02:09 Exxon and Chevron on Friday
02:11 will be very fascinating to watch.
02:12 And then also Caterpillar will tell us a lot
02:14 about the economy, MasterCard.
02:16 So this will be a very, very busy week
02:19 and we're excited to get into it.
02:20 So yeah, we can flip over to the next page.
02:23 I do wanna kinda quickly inform you guys
02:25 on what we're looking at here.
02:26 So first, the under actual,
02:28 that's what time you should expect
02:30 the numbers to be released.
02:32 On the top is morning before the markets open,
02:34 and then after that is after the markets closed.
02:36 And then next to that, we have the EPS expectations
02:39 and then the revenue expectations as well.
02:41 So this is for Monday morning and afternoon.
02:44 The ones standing out to me are Coca-Cola,
02:47 Cleveland Cliffs, and then First Republic
02:49 and Credit Suisse are obviously very, very fascinating.
02:52 So a lot to watch on those.
02:54 I know Whirlpool is also watched a little bit
02:56 as well, but we really do start to pick up on Tuesday.
02:59 I thought Tuesday, the morning,
03:02 just how many stocks there are going here
03:03 that I really kind of know and reputable and watch.
03:06 We didn't even mention Pepsi's on here,
03:07 Spotify's on here, 3M, Raytheon with Defense,
03:10 some airline names, Nextera's even popular.
03:13 So a lot to go in.
03:14 Of course, there's names at the top, UPS, Verizon,
03:16 GM, McDonald's, GE, very large names.
03:19 - Yeah, definitely a busy morning.
03:22 Some of these have faded over the last year or two
03:24 from their prominence, but names like McDonald's,
03:27 you know, Jimmy Chill coming out long,
03:30 McDonald's the other week.
03:31 So I'm excited to see how earnings go for them.
03:33 They have currently the curse upon them.
03:36 - Wolf, I don't know if you saw,
03:37 I kind of, there was on Friday, Jimmy Chill,
03:40 Jim Cramer gave his thoughts on a lot of these names
03:42 and what we were expecting.
03:43 So I'll cover that at the name, but as you said there,
03:46 at the end, McDonald's was one that he thinks,
03:49 he said he thinks this will be the quarter
03:51 that takes the stock over 300, was a direct quote.
03:54 So yes, the curse is there for McDonald's,
03:57 but this is literally just Tuesday before the open.
03:59 I think that kind of goes how much was there.
04:02 Now what you have up here is Tuesday after the close.
04:04 And you could see those names at the top,
04:06 Microsoft and Google, two of the largest companies
04:10 in the world going at the exact same time, more or less.
04:13 The AI battle is in full swing.
04:15 So that will definitely be a very, very focused
04:18 kind of battle on watch.
04:20 It feels like they're pitted up against each other,
04:21 but definitely something to watch.
04:23 But also I know Enphase is very closely followed,
04:26 same with Visa and a couple others.
04:29 - Absolutely, real quick to the audience,
04:31 if you're able to drop a like on this video,
04:33 that's just as really helpful for the algo,
04:35 gets more people seeing this.
04:37 And obviously this is pertinent information
04:39 for this upcoming week.
04:40 So the sooner we can get in front of more people,
04:41 the better, just have an understanding of,
04:43 hey, that company's in my portfolio,
04:45 or I have a swing trade on there.
04:46 I want to understand what they have to look forward to
04:49 with earnings.
04:50 This is a huge day on Tuesday, will obviously be live.
04:52 Google, Microsoft, headlining, several other names
04:56 that people are going to care about in here as well.
04:58 But this is going to see the start of that swing
05:01 to QQQ and Spy as they really get moved by names like these.
05:04 I think we can pop into the next portion,
05:10 which is going to be Wednesday morning, right?
05:13 - Yeah, Wednesday morning is next here.
05:15 First of all, also you did kind of mention there,
05:17 I think the most value of this, just kind of pause it
05:20 on each day and you can come back
05:21 and really know what the numbers are.
05:23 Expectations is what matters,
05:25 so definitely keep that on watch.
05:26 For me though, Boeing is the very big name,
05:29 Wednesday morning that I'm watching.
05:30 A couple others not as big.
05:32 I know Norfolk Southern might get a lot of interest
05:34 because of the whole Ohio incident that happened
05:37 with the train derailment.
05:38 So maybe some interest there,
05:39 kind of see how they're reacting to it.
05:41 But overall, just a good amount of names going on the theme.
05:44 But Wednesday after the close,
05:46 I'm pretty focused on Facebook.
05:47 I think this one will be a really interesting earnings.
05:50 A lot of people hate the company.
05:52 A lot of people don't like their spending on the metaverse,
05:54 but still a great underlying product.
05:57 And we'll see how they're kind of working
05:58 through all these Apple changes that a couple quarters ago,
06:01 but are still affecting everyone.
06:03 But outside of Facebook and Zuckerberg,
06:05 like you mentioned Roku earlier,
06:06 and Teladoc should move a lot.
06:08 And then ServiceNow and Waste Management
06:09 are some popular names.
06:11 But any other names stand out to you here?
06:12 I know we have your namesake Wolfsby down there.
06:14 Unfortunately hit 52 week lows the other day.
06:17 Not great, Bob, as they say.
06:21 So continue to keep an eye on ticker symbol W-O-L-F,
06:24 but it has not been performing.
06:26 You know, and that's surprising to me, right?
06:28 Because names like Nvidia and AMD still pushing up,
06:31 finding new areas of support.
06:33 And names like Wolf, unfortunately,
06:35 towards the lower end of that spectrum,
06:37 and have fallen back.
06:38 But this could be the turning point.
06:39 It caught actually near where the lows were back in June.
06:43 So if they have some good earnings,
06:44 you could see a sizable move.
06:45 I've seen Wolfsby move 10, 20, 30% as well in earnings.
06:49 Outside of that, not too much else.
06:50 I know that Boeing, you know,
06:51 obviously it's at the top here,
06:53 but that's like the big name.
06:53 Tons of people like to play Boeing
06:55 for both short term, long term.
06:56 News, Catalyst, and other pieces like that.
06:59 And then not too much that stands out to me,
07:00 you know, maybe American Tower Corp.
07:02 But I think Wednesday morning, a little bit lighter.
07:05 But of course, once you get into Wednesday afternoon,
07:08 not so light.
07:10 Lot of heavy hitters, lot of big movers.
07:13 Of course, Meta is the champion here,
07:15 but things like TDOC and Roku just love to move.
07:18 And then I certainly have some WM in my portfolio.
07:20 So that's not one that I care about
07:22 a single earnings report on,
07:24 but it's always helpful to see more good news.
07:27 - Perfect, all right.
07:29 Well, we'll keep moving through a little bit quicker
07:31 at the end here.
07:32 We do have Thursday before the open.
07:34 Caterpillar on watch, MasterCard on watch,
07:36 Eli Lilly, Domino's Pizza,
07:38 and a bunch of others marked Southwestern Airlines.
07:40 So a lot of good names to watch here, a very busy morning.
07:44 Even at the bottom, Honeywell, Bristol Myers,
07:46 Barrett Airlines, Hasbro, Overstock.
07:49 Thursday morning will be very, very busy.
07:52 And then after the close, we have Amazon
07:54 kind of coming in and headlining the day
07:55 with Snapchat, Intel, Pinterest, Activision.
07:58 We might hear a little bit more
07:59 about their acquisition deal with Microsoft,
08:01 and then a bunch of others.
08:03 And then on Friday, the big names here
08:06 are those mega cap oil names.
08:09 We've got Exxon and Chevron.
08:11 So definitely those names will be on watch.
08:14 And quickly, I did hype it up a little bit earlier.
08:16 Jim Cramer did give his thoughts
08:18 on these earnings, a couple of them.
08:20 So I'll read them out.
08:21 Maybe they'll give you some alpha.
08:23 For Chipotle, Jim said he's still adamant
08:26 that Chipotle is going to 2000,
08:27 so he's bullish on these numbers.
08:29 He said he thought Microsoft's numbers
08:31 will cause analysts to raise their expectations
08:33 going forward, so he thinks they will do good.
08:36 He said he would double down on Facebook
08:39 meta platforms if he didn't already own so much,
08:41 and that Mark "Chainsaw" Zuckerberg
08:43 will chop more dead wood during the quarter,
08:46 was his quote.
08:47 For Exxon versus Chevron, he said
08:48 he prefers Exxon again this quarter.
08:51 We didn't really mention it much on here,
08:52 but Hershey's, they're reporting earnings this week,
08:54 and Jim said he thinks that this could be
08:56 the biggest upside surprise next week.
08:59 And then the last one I will leave you with
09:01 is General Electric GE, which he said
09:04 he believes will deliver another magnificent quarter.
09:07 - Wow, interesting.
09:08 Bold words from Jim Cramer right there.
09:12 Okay, I think we've covered earnings pretty sufficiently.
09:14 Anybody can go back and pause at any point.
09:16 Did we want to hit the economic calendar real quick?
09:18 - Yeah, so next week we have a very busy earnings week,
09:21 but we also have a very big macro and Fed Speaker week.
09:24 The two biggest events are happening later in the week,
09:27 so we're looking at this first one.
09:28 We have some new home sales and durable good orders,
09:31 but not too much that I am focused on.
09:33 Here, if we go over to the second half of the week,
09:36 on Thursday we have the Q1 GDP reading.
09:39 This is just the preliminary results,
09:41 so we're gonna get two more readings after this one,
09:43 and it could change.
09:44 But I know that was heavily focused a couple quarters ago,
09:46 and we'll see what we get this day.
09:48 We also have jobless claims on that one,
09:50 a very focused macro indicator right now.
09:53 And then on Friday, as we were talking about earlier,
09:56 the Fed's preferred inflation index
09:58 does get released for March.
10:00 That is PCE.
10:02 So we'll be very focused on what that comes in.
10:05 But Thursday and Friday will be very big
10:07 on the macro perspective as well.
10:09 And just quickly on this page,
10:10 so you guys know it's from the last one,
10:12 the far right number, that is the previous expectation,
10:15 and then to the left of that is the median forecast,
10:18 and then, yeah, what month it is.
10:20 So that's how you should be looking at this one.
10:22 But GDP, jobless claims, and PCE are my big three watches
10:27 for the week from the macro front.
10:29 - Perfect.
10:29 Love the breakdown there
10:31 of everything that's being covered.
10:32 I think you sufficiently hit on it.
10:35 Less Fed speakers this week, which is nice.
10:37 We had a ton of Fed speakers last week, as you can see.
10:40 Pretty much none this week.
10:42 Are we in a blackout period?
10:44 - No, I don't think so.
10:45 I could double check.
10:47 - Just a lighter week.
10:48 All right, nice to see it.
10:50 That's gonna be a super interesting week.
10:52 We're gonna be live during it on Twitter Spaces
10:55 from 3 to 5 p.m. Eastern each day,
10:57 covering the live earnings as they come out,
10:58 giving you live analysis on numbers.
11:00 You can check us out @Wolf_Financial on Twitter,
11:03 @StockMKT.
11:05 - Wow, you know what?
11:06 Breaking news.
11:07 The Fed is in a blackout window.
11:09 Look at that.
11:09 Look at you saying that.
11:10 I had no idea.
11:11 Yeah, starting April 22nd, goes till May 4th.
11:14 - Look at that, look at that.
11:16 Guess we got two weeks.
11:17 Nice.
11:18 Okay, really good stuff.
11:19 Any other comments you'd like to make
11:21 before we close this one out?
11:23 - Nope, appreciate you getting that information to me.
11:26 If you see the tweet on my timeline
11:28 of the Fed's blackout window that we're in there right now,
11:31 shout out to this moment of us filming it
11:34 for getting me the inspiration for that.
11:36 If you enjoyed the video, myself and Wolf,
11:38 we're doing at least two videos
11:40 every single week going forward.
11:42 We're committing to that.
11:43 We're doubling down on these channels.
11:44 So make sure you're subscribed.
11:46 Make sure you like every single video,
11:48 comments, and all that great stuff.
11:49 We appreciate you and catch you on the next one.
11:52 - Absolutely.
11:53 I even repainted the wall behind me.
11:54 Just looked better for YouTube videos.
11:56 - You know, I'm noticing that.
11:57 I like it.
11:58 It's really nice.
11:59 - Thank you, thank you.
11:59 Yes, it's pretty.
12:00 All right, everybody.
12:01 See you in the next one.
