00:00 We're here at Victoria Square in Adelaide where the first solar cars have made it to
00:06 the end of the race.
00:08 There's much excitement and even a bit of a splash going on here which is somewhat impressive
00:13 given it's only about 15 degrees in Adelaide at the moment.
00:16 That hasn't dampened spirits though.
00:18 Yeah it was actually a crazy journey.
00:20 We went up from 40 degrees in Darwin to 4 degrees only in Cooperpedie.
00:24 There were a lot of bushfires which really influenced the Iranians and the incoming power
00:30 but we tried to manage that with our strategy and we're first in Adelaide so our strategy
00:33 really worked out.
00:34 Oh we've been preparing for months.
00:37 Also back in Belgium we did some heat trainings in a sauna.
00:40 We had also special food and drinks so we were always good hydrated.
00:47 So we came prepared and it was a nice trip out here.
00:51 Two Dutch cars are in second and third place, a solid feat after a disastrous 2019 for both
00:57 teams from the Netherlands with Solar Team Twente being blown off the road and Brunel
01:02 Solar Team's car going up in flames, torching their winning streak.
01:07 It's the first time the race has taken place since then after a COVID-induced hiatus in
01:12 2021 and there's already big plans for the 2025 event.
01:17 We're going to go again for the world title, that's for sure.
01:20 I think we will come back for sure and build a new car and yeah looking forward to be again
01:26 in the World Solar Challenge.
01:27 The race is expected to wrap up on Sunday as the 31 teams from around the world complete
01:33 the journey, finishing up right here.
