00:00 Israel`s military steps up its operation in Gaza with an overnight ground assault in the
00:05 north of the territory, as thousands of injured Palestinians seek treatment.
00:11 Hours after Russia`s upper house of parliament rescinds the ratification of the nuclear test
00:14 ban treaty, President Putin oversees a massive atomic missile test.
00:20 U.S. law enforcement are searching for a gunman at large after two mass shootings in the state
00:25 of Maine. At least 22 people were killed.
00:29 Tanks, rolling across Israel`s border into northern Gaza. Israel`s defense forces say
00:38 they conducted a targeted raid Wednesday night with armed vehicles and infantry. It`s been
00:43 described as the largest ground assault in the besieged territory by Prime Minister Netanyahu`s
00:47 military so far.
00:49 Army personnel say the attack was in preparation for its looming counteroffensive and claim
00:54 the soldiers have returned to Israeli territory.
00:58 This before two flares were captured on film over the war-ravaged strip at sunrise. Even
01:03 Rafah in the south of the territory on Egypt`s border hasn`t escaped Israel`s relentless shelling.
01:10 Hospitals across the enclave are a breaking point. Their emergency centers overwhelmed.
01:17 This Palestinian child is receiving treatment at the Indonesian hospital in Gaza`s Beir
01:22 Lehiyeh area, as strikes continue overhead. These before and after images show the extent
01:27 of the damage caused by Israel`s daily bombardment. The war now entering its 20th day is the deadliest
01:33 of five conflicts in the region.
01:38 Smoke billowing above the Rafah skyline, just 30 kilometers from Gaza City on Egypt`s border.
01:43 This as Israel continues to bombard the Palestinian territory from above, hampering relief operations.
01:50 Locals and rescuers here are racing against the clock to pull survivors from the rubble.
01:55 According to the Hamas-run health ministry, at least 6,500 Palestinians have been killed
02:00 and 17,500 others wounded.
02:04 In Can Unis, eight kilometers north, essential supplies are being delivered to the Nasser
02:07 hospital`s warehouse. Medical centers are running dangerously low in fuel, clean water
02:13 and first aid equipment, as desperation mounts for displaced Gazans. Survivors at this makeshift
02:19 facility say they are exhausted.
02:21 I and my family were forced to leave the house under the destruction and bombing. We had to
02:27 bring two cars to the hospital. We stayed under the sun for ten days until the tent was repaired.
02:34 We don`t want war. We are tired of war. We are tired of it. We want to go to the bathroom.
02:41 We want to wait for the toilet to be opened. We don`t want anything. Our bodies are without
02:48 life. There is no life.
02:52 The United Nations says there are 1.4 million internally displaced people in Gaza. Nearly
02:57 590,000 are living in these designated emergency shelters. But overcrowding is a growing concern.
03:06 Russia, preparing for nuclear war. Moscow fired several ballistic missiles on Wednesday in
03:14 response to what it is calling an eventual external attack. Since its full-scale assault
03:19 on Ukraine began, Russia has wielded the atomic threat several times.
03:25 The drills took place hours after the upper house of parliament voted to rescind the ratification
03:30 of the nuclear test ban treaty, after it was approved by the Duma last week. The exercises,
03:36 conducted some 800 kilometers north of the capital, were closely monitored by President
03:41 Vladimir Putin, Defense Minister Sergei Shaigu and the Army`s Chief of Staff, Valery Gerasimov.
03:47 The bill will now go to Putin for the final green light.
03:52 While Russia conducts similar drills every autumn, there is growing concern the Kremlin
03:56 might increase nuclear testing to discourage Ukraine`s Western allies from providing military
04:02 support.
04:08 Police in the U.S. state of Maine are on high alert after two mass shootings in the city
04:12 of Lewiston. At least 22 people were killed and scores more wounded after a gunman opened
04:18 fire at a restaurant in Bowling Alley. Law enforcement say they have identified a suspect.
04:26 That approximately 6.56 this evening, a couple of shooting incidents occurred here with multiple
04:31 casualties in the city of Lewiston.
04:34 And police are currently searching for a Robert R. Card. Card is considered armed and dangerous.
04:41 County police have released footage of a man armed with a semi-automatic rifle. Card, a
04:45 firearms instructor, was recently committed to a mental health facility. Officials have
04:49 urged residents in Lewiston and nearby Auburn to stay indoors as the manhunt continues.
04:55 Maine Central Medical Center says it is coordinating with area hospitals to treat the wounded.
05:02 Former U.S. President Donald Trump was called to the witness stand and fined $10,000 at
05:07 his civil fraud trial for making out-of-court comments about a principal law clerk. It was
05:13 the second fine in a week and violated a gag order. Judge Arthur Engoran dismissed Trump`s
05:19 claims. The remarks referred to his former attorney, Michael Cohen, who`s giving evidence
05:24 at the hearing into the Trump Organization`s financial practices. The judge said this claim
05:29 made no sense. Trump`s previous fine was for $5,000.
05:39 Just a few meters from Ibiza`s fancy yacht, Spanish drug enforcement officers load more
05:44 than 8.3 tons of hashish onto one of their patrol boats. It was their biggest ever seizure
05:50 of the drug in the Balearic Islands. They`d earlier stopped three vans driving without
05:54 lights in the north of the island and found the drugs in 216 bags inside. Customs agents
06:01 believe the hashish came from North Africa and that most of the haul was destined for
06:05 mainland Europe.
06:13 Developing countries need billions of euros in infrastructure investment if they`re to
06:16 improve basic living conditions, and the EU says it`s putting the money on the table.
06:22 At the first summit of its kind, the Global Gateway Forum in Brussels on Wednesday saw
06:26 around 20 heads of state and government demonstrate their interest in the bloc`s investment program,
06:32 launched two years ago now.
06:35 Ursula von der Leyen says that many can offer money, but Europe is doing it on a values-based
06:40 approach.
06:41 The Global Gateway is about giving choices to countries, better choices. Because for
06:49 many countries around the world, investment options are not only limited, but they all
06:57 come with a lot of small print and sometimes with a very high price. Sometimes it is the
07:04 environment that pays the price. Sometimes it is workers who are stripped of their rights.
07:13 Sometimes foreign workers are brought in. And sometimes national sovereignty is compromised.
07:22 The EU is throwing 300 billion euros into the ring for the next three years, as it plays
07:26 catch up with China`s own Belt and Road Initiative, which has already invested $1 trillion over
07:31 the last decade.
07:33 Several investment agreements were signed with countries from Africa and Asia, though,
07:37 including one with Bangladesh. Green energy projects in the country will receive 45 million
07:43 euros in EU grants and the 350 million euros loan from the European Investment Bank.
07:50 Aware of the global competition for greater geopolitical influence, Bangladesh will maintain
07:54 its involvement in the Chinese initiative and will assess each case individually.
08:01 For our development, anybody come forward, we always judge that any project or any assistance
08:11 we receive, actually we take loan and then we repay the bill with interest. So, for our
08:19 development, we try to avail every, you know, things which will be beneficial for our country.
08:29 Digital energy and climate, transport, health, education and research are the five domains
08:34 of investment. The EU expects its partners to buy into the bloc`s landmark Green Deal
08:39 philosophy and in return, secure access to critical raw material suppliers.
08:45 Critics say that the global gateway has to evolve a lot for the EU to have a more geopolitical
08:51 influence in the world. And the reality is that 18 member states of the EU have signed
08:56 in the past contracts with the Chinese initiative. And many big companies in the EU have also
09:02 Chinese investment.

09:08 A latter day David and Goliath story pits the Furtasio brothers against Amazon. Born
09:18 60 years ago to a Naples family, they made up for a lack of education by turning their
09:22 love of music into a thriving business.
09:26 Mix it by Harry.
09:27 In the 1980s, the Furtasio boys became unwitting mixtape moguls. Their brand, Mix by Harry,
09:34 became a household name in the city, churning out cassettes of pirated recordings of Italian
09:39 and international artists.
09:40 At the peak of their success, the Furtasio had 100 people working for them and sites
09:45 for production and distribution across the city. They were selling more than 200,000
09:50 cassettes a week in Italy and abroad, all thanks to copyright legislation that was still
09:55 absent in Naples.
09:56 When we started, these laws didn't exist. Since they were in a neighborhood like Forcella,
10:03 they were doing robberies in all ways. When it happened to us, they made a blitz and came
10:08 to our warehouse where we were selling cassettes. The police looked at us, said "they are
10:14 the Baieri brothers, let them stay, they are good girls" and they left.
10:17 Every morning we went down with the belt to the rambo in front that you couldn't see,
10:21 we were living with the area of those who lived at home because we were invisible in the neighborhood.
10:26 A neighborhood where they do counterfeiting, drugs, camorra. We were the last of the problem
10:31 in that area.
10:32 It all started from here. Maybe the youngest don't even know what this object is, but
10:38 at the beginning of the 80s the Fratasio brothers created a parallel market that exported music
10:44 all over the world. And I won't hide from you that even when I was younger, I bought
10:49 some of these cassettes in the banks of Naples.
10:52 After paying their dues with the law, the Fratasio brothers registered the mix by Aerie
10:57 brand in 2016. However, recently they found out Amazon had started selling clothing items
11:03 with their brand on it without authorization. They contacted a lawyer.
11:08 They have a bit of presumption, I don't know, of authority on this thing. We'll see.
11:15 I want to wait and see if the law is the same for everyone. Because we paid for this.
11:22 The first thing we decided between us and Karma, because from pirates to pirates.
11:29 Enrico's dream was to be a DJ. Piracy was how it worked. The brand has become world
11:35 famous and as he told Luca Palomara from Euronews, his passion for music remains.
