00:04 We are still here with my friend, Nanette Medved.
00:08 Nanette, let's talk about it.
00:10 Hope in a Bottle told me, 2012, you started this project.
00:14 It has come so far. Let's talk about it.
00:18 Oh my goodness, when we started, boy, we had almost nothing.
00:22 We had no customers, we had nothing.
00:26 And I remember, you were so kind.
00:30 I told you my story about wanting to support public schools and build public schools.
00:35 And of course, my mom is a public school teacher.
00:38 And so you said, "Absolutely, I will support it because I want to support the public schools."
00:43 And I think my mom would love this.
00:45 So you were there from the very beginning.
00:48 I will never forget that.
00:50 And maybe later, I think we have something to share.
00:53 Because we actually wound up, one of our very first classrooms was turned over for you in your name in Laguna.
01:00 I remember that.
01:01 Yeah, and I don't know if you remember, but, and is it okay to do this now?
01:07 Yes, yes, yes.
01:08 Okay, so I don't know if you remember, but when we got there, you were your usual amazing self.
01:15 And you showed up for the turnover. The kids were so happy, the parents, the teachers.
01:19 And when we were there, you gave them a Philippine flag that they could hoist above the school.
01:29 Because they didn't have a good flag for you or for your classroom.
01:37 And I just want to let you know that this morning, our team was actually at your school, at your classroom.
01:45 And the very flag that you gave them 10 years ago, they would like to give back to you.
01:51 They've been using it.
01:52 Oh!
01:54 They've been using it for the past 10 years.
01:57 And if you'll notice, it's a bit worn out, but very well used.
02:04 And they would like to return it to you as a thank you for 10 years of children learning in your classroom.
02:11 And I remember on that day, Boy was very emotional because he said...
02:15 I was. I am now.
02:17 Yeah, he said, "I get many gifts in my life, but none is more meaningful than a Philippine flag."
02:25 Because you are, if nothing, a patriot, Boy.
02:28 And from a public school, your mom would be so happy.
02:33 I was so emotional because when we talk about classrooms, and being able to share on what you're doing,
02:42 is actually providing hope, providing classrooms for kids, means so much to me in a very, very, very personal way.
02:54 Yes, well, there's an addition to that because I remember that this is because of your mom.
03:01 And so I called the people in the office yesterday, and I said, "I'm going to visit Boy on his birthday,
03:08 and we know how special your mom is to you."
03:13 And they said, "There was a photo shoot in one of your commercials, and Mommy was there."
03:21 And so they have a gift for you for your birthday.
03:24 They want to give it to you and wish you a very, very, very, very happy birthday.
03:29 Oh.
03:31 [Applause]
03:37 Salamat. Salamat.
03:41 Oh, my God.
03:43 Nanay was a public school teacher.
03:46 She was a grade one teacher for 41 years, 11 months, and two days.
03:52 She made sure that I remember the statistics.
03:58 She made sure it was not 42 years.
04:00 She made sure it was not 41 years.
04:03 She made sure I always say 41 years, 11 months, and two days.
04:08 And I am proud.
04:10 I am proud.
04:11 [Applause]
04:17 Thank you.
04:18 You're welcome.
04:19 Maraming salamat, Nanay.
04:20 Alam mo, tayo nga talking about how we would like to be remembered.
04:24 People would say, "How do you want yourself to be remembered?"
04:27 I would say--you know, some people would not agree if they say, "I was--I tried to be the best host.
04:32 I tried to be the best interviewer."
04:35 That's debatable.
04:37 But when I say, "I was the best child to my mother," I'm okay.
04:44 Kasi ginawaku iyo.
04:45 And she was so proud of you.
04:47 She was.
04:48 She really was.
