00:09 It's the Buffalo Bills and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

00:20 But today is Thursday, Donnie.
00:21 Yesterday, Wednesday, always an important day around the NFL.
00:25 It's the first time that for the Sunday slate,
00:27 teams really return to the practice field.
00:29 You meet the media, you share your practice reports.
00:32 Who is injured, who is healthy, who is expected to give it a go on Sunday.
00:37 And some significant quarterback news entering week number eight.
00:42 Brock Purdy placed in concussion protocol by the San Francisco 49ers.
00:48 We're not entirely sure, Donnie, what play it was on Monday night that led to
00:52 Purdy being placed in concussion protocol.
00:55 But at this juncture, this late in the week,
00:58 Brock Purdy will be on the sideline on Sunday.
01:01 Sam Darnold is expected to get the start, Donnie, right side.
01:05 In a monumental game in Santa Clara as the 49ers host the Cincinnati Bengals.
01:10 >> This is why you need at least a quality backup, right?
01:12 We're not saying Sam Darnold is the next coming of, hey,
01:15 he's gonna have a great game this weekend.
01:16 We'll never see Purdy again.
01:18 But at least he's an athletic quarterback that had a high ceiling coming into
01:21 the NFL.
01:21 He's in a very good system in San Francisco, and I think he'll perform well.
01:25 >> The interesting part about this overall is not really from a Brock Purdy
01:28 concept of, okay, how long is he going to be out?
01:31 We're week to week here in the NFL.
01:32 So I analyze this and say to myself, coming into the week,
01:35 I didn't care who the quarterback was for the San Francisco 49ers.
01:38 Why? Cuz we didn't even know Brock Purdy had a concussion.
01:40 I said, give me those six points with Cincinnati coming off a bye.
01:43 I think they can hang around for the 49ers.
01:45 Now here's interesting where the gears start to grind in my mind,
01:49 where I say to myself, okay, if we're talking about more of a system here,
01:52 maybe Brock Purdy's not the quarterback that's going to be Tom Brady and
01:55 lead your team the football games and wins and
01:58 championships regardless of the talent.
02:00 I'm gonna tell you right now, Sam Darnall can operate this offense here.
02:03 So now if we're seeing those sixes to five and a halves to fours, three and
02:07 a halves, and then maybe even threes by game time, instead of me looking at
02:10 Cincinnati here as a great side if you didn't lock it in at six early in the week,
02:14 I actually really like the 49ers had a field goal at home in a game where they
02:17 lost two straight games coming into that one.
02:19 I think the situation is perfect for the 49ers.
02:22 And I'm not saying Darnall's gonna have 325 yards passing,
02:25 three touchdowns, run for 45 more yards.
02:27 And wow, everybody missed here and should have signed up and
02:30 got on that bandwagon after it didn't work out with the Jets here.
02:33 I'm just saying he can be a capable quarterback.
02:35 You give me three, I like the 49ers here this week.
