00:08 Well, hi everybody, Brendan Gulick with you from Cleveland Browns training
00:12 facility here in Berea with a quick practice report on Friday of game week.
00:17 As the Browns get ready for the Seattle Seahawks,
00:21 here to get things rolling in week eight in the NFL.
00:24 I would say the best news today out of the facility was that Jerome Ford,
00:29 practiced today, he was limited but he did practice.
00:33 And I was able to be fairly close to where the running backs were doing some
00:37 individual work at the beginning of practice today.
00:39 And while he was a limited participant in practice,
00:43 I thought his mobility looked pretty good.
00:45 And actually Adam Schefter after the fact, had tweeted out that the Browns
00:51 were surprised by how well he ran and that his status is now questionable for Sunday.
00:57 I guess we'll see how he recovers after practice today with a walkthrough tomorrow.
01:02 The team will jump on a plane and head out to the Pacific Northwest tomorrow.
01:07 But if the Browns could get a healthy, or at least healthy enough Jerome Ford,
01:11 that would be a substantial upgrade for them in the running back room because
01:15 that room certainly looking pretty thin at the moment.
01:19 Kareem Hunt continues to practice.
01:20 I'm sure he's going to be an important part of Sunday's game plan, but
01:24 having Jerome Ford healthy will certainly help as well.
01:28 Specifically, even just watching him do individual ladder work,
01:31 some just agility work.
01:33 I thought he was explosive.
01:34 I thought he was quick.
01:36 He didn't seem to be hindering the ankle at all.
01:40 In fact, it really wasn't overly taped up.
01:44 So fingers crossed that that's good news for
01:46 the Browns if Jerome Ford is able to play on Sunday.
01:49 Again, he's listed as questionable, but I get the impression the Browns are
01:52 quietly hopeful that he'll be okay.
01:54 Beyond that, the injury report today, Marquis Goodwin is questionable,
02:01 as is Jedrick Wills at left tackle and Sione Takitaki.
02:05 And then of course, Deshaun Watson has been ruled out on Sunday.
02:09 The press conference with Kevin Stefanski,
02:12 I wouldn't say was terribly enlightening today.
02:14 It was a lot of the same kinds of things that he said on Wednesday, but
02:18 he acknowledged that it's been a great week of practice.
02:20 They were lucky to have good weather here in Northeast Ohio all week and
02:24 felt like they're in a good headspace.
02:27 The morale of the team is high and they're excited about the challenge of going and
02:31 playing in a really tough, really loud environment in Seattle.
02:35 And they are looking forward to just saying, look,
02:38 we're gonna go compete and see what happens.
02:40 I mentioned it yesterday, but I think it's worth saying again,
02:45 there is no lack of belief in that locker room right now,
02:48 even though there's been a lot of frustration externally with how things
02:53 have gone with the Deshaun Watson situation and his inability to be healthy and
02:58 execute well.
03:00 The team seems to really like PJ Walker.
03:03 They got a lot of confidence in him in that room.
03:06 And PJ and Kevin both reference the fact that the more time they're spending with
03:11 each other, the better rhythm and routine they're getting in and
03:14 learning each other's, their habits, their decisiveness,
03:20 the way they want to go about executing a game plan.
03:24 And so, hopefully, PJ Walker's ready to go.
03:27 He has been to Seattle.
03:29 He said he's been in that environment but hasn't played in it.
03:32 So he's got some level of idea what to expect.
03:36 But this is gonna be a big, tall task for him for
03:38 sure because Seattle's defense is playing extremely well here of late.
03:42 And on one fun note before we wrap up, this was our first opportunity as
03:47 a pool of reporters to talk with Miles Garrett after Miles officially
03:52 inked his name on the Cavs ownership line,
03:56 dotting, I should say on the dotted line for a slightly different reason.
04:01 Cool for Miles for sure that he is now a minority owner in the Cleveland Cavaliers.
04:07 And so because we had our first opportunity to talk with him today about
04:10 that, there were far more basketball questions than football questions.
04:15 He alluded to the fact that it wasn't going to become a thing that his
04:21 teammates would ask him for stuff, it's already been a thing.
04:25 That the team wants to have the first couple of rows of floor seats
04:30 dedicated just to them and he joked that maybe he would figure out a way to
04:35 sign himself to a 10 day contract.
04:38 He was certainly having fun with it.
04:39 But on a serious note, and I quote, Miles said, I'm not gonna sell my house and
04:45 pack up and leave when I'm done playing here.
04:47 I definitely plan to be here for a long time.
04:49 I'll start a family here.
04:51 I'm not gonna rip and run once things are old and I hang up the cleats.
04:56 It's pretty cool as a Cleveland sports fan to know that you've got a guy with
05:03 that kind of superstar power that Miles Garrett has.
05:07 That is so outwardly expressive of his love of being here,
05:12 his desire to play his whole career here.
05:15 And to be involved, not just in the community, but
05:18 to literally financially invest in another one of the teams here.
05:23 I think it's awesome.
05:24 And even if his, and the terms of his investment weren't disclosed.
05:31 But even if it's just a smaller amount of money in the grand scheme of things for
05:36 a franchise that is worth a lot of money for sure.
05:39 His presence, his value is so impactful, I think for Cleveland fans.
05:48 And this is a really cool story in the city of Cleveland this week.
05:52 And I think Miles is certainly enjoying the fact that he now gets to be a part
05:57 of something special.
05:58 So congratulations to him for sure and looking forward to seeing
06:01 what kind of impact he can make as a part owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
06:06 All right, so that'll wrap things up from the facility this week.
06:08 It was another good week in Berea and we'll see if the Browns can win for
06:12 the first time in Seattle in basically three plus decades.
06:17 It's been a long time since the Browns have gone up to Seattle and won.
06:21 But fingers crossed this will be a good weekend for
06:23 Cleveland as they go up there and take on a Seahawks team that's playing very well.
