  • last year
Away form is something they’ve lacked, but they have to be able to convert wins at home in the Premier League.

00:00 Well, looking at Everton's form, especially away from home, they've got the majority of their points this season on the road.
00:07 How do they turn that into home form now? Because you obviously have more fans, you have more of an atmosphere, more of a toxic atmosphere if it goes wrong.
00:18 What are your thoughts on how well they've done away from home? Because it was something they needed to improve on at the back end of last season as well.
00:26 Yeah, absolutely. I think under Raf Binney says Everton won once, away from home Frank Lampard won twice I think, Leicester and Southampton.
00:38 And now Sean Dyche, fair play to him, he's earned three wins on the road since he arrived, one at Brighton.
00:45 Brentford, now West Ham, which West Ham wasn't a classic game by any means, anyone who's watched us in neutral, they're saying they probably would have turned off because it wasn't a great display.
00:57 But Everton got the job done, professional, the nullified West Ham's threat and they showed that they carry their own threats as well.
01:06 Dominic Calvert-Lewin obviously bouncing back to fitness and really look on like the Calvert-Lewin of a few years ago under Carlo Ancelotti.
01:14 And yeah, I think maybe toot Everton a little bit more playing away from home, they have a bit less of the ball, they can hit teams on the counter.
01:23 And they have got to defend a little bit more, Everton have got some real good defenders.
01:29 Those two at the back, Tarkovsky and Gerard Bramford have formed a real eye-catching partnership.
01:35 And Jordan Pickford, you know, another great save against West Ham.
01:38 You think of that one against Sheffield United's where Everton had a 2-2 draw.
01:44 If you need to rely on your goalkeeper, then you can.
01:46 But yeah, as you rightly say, only one winner home so far.
01:49 That was Issa Bournemouth-Syed, who haven't made too many teams fear them so far, I'd have to say.
01:58 And they got beated home by Luton, poor results.
02:02 Got beat at the start of the season by Fulham, who were missing some players at that time.
02:07 Got beat by Wolves as well. Fair enough, Wolves have picked up now.
02:10 But at the time, Wolves were in a real low ebb as well.
02:13 Theo didn't know what was going on with the financial situation in terms of what players he might have been getting in.
02:20 It was an opportunity for Everton.
02:21 So yeah, Everton, look, they've shown signs now that they can avoid a relegation battle.
02:27 They're picking up results away from home.
02:30 If they turn around that form at home, then I don't think anyone will have any doubts that Everton will be safe this season.
