00:00Hello there, Lee Sobot at the Yorkshire Evening Post here from Ellen Road where Leeds United
00:07have comprehensively swept aside Coventry City with a 3-0 victory that I think leaves
00:12everybody going home very, very happy from a Leeds United point of view. On the back
00:16of last weekend's 2-0 win at Cardiff City, which at the end of the day was another three
00:20points but obviously there were a few moans and groans about Leeds taking their time to
00:25eventually put away a Cardiff side who played three quarters of the game with 10 men and
00:29women who were bottom of the table. But forget that because this was about the hosting of
00:32Coventry City, a Coventry side who many expected at the start of the season to be in the promotion
00:37mix. They're certainly not at the moment but they do tend to recover as the season goes
00:41on and get stronger as the season goes on and they were just completely swept aside
00:44today by a Leeds side who were pretty ruthless really with their chances. Very, very nice
00:48football, some great goals and a great day for Leeds really with the results most definitely
00:52going their way via defeats for both Sunderland and West Brom. Only moved up one place on
00:57the table but now just one point off the automatic promotion places and two points
01:00off top spots still occupied by West Brom. And a very, very good start to a very, very
01:04busy week and demanding week which obviously sees Leeds back in action very, very quickly
01:09on Tuesday evening at Norwich City which will itself be a tough game and then obviously
01:12a real huge one on Friday night at Sunderland. But everything really went Leeds' way today,
01:17very, very impressive performance and the crowd were very happy with what they saw.
01:21Obviously big debate about winning, not just winning but winning in style and parts of
01:26that today were pretty stylish, certainly the goals were. I think it was 60 minutes
01:29on the clock when Willy Nonto fired Leeds home, fantastic first time finish into the
01:33roof of the net, really, really nice goal that was. Loads of chances to extend their
01:36lead, I mean Mellier was a virtual spectator in the first half, only 1-0 at the break and
01:41you sort of wondered if that would come back to haunt Leeds as can often be the case. Coventry
01:45did start a little bit better in the second half but the standard bar was very, very low
01:48on that score because he offered nothing nearly in the first half. But Leeds went 2-0 up,
01:52Jadon Bogle's first goal for the club, very, very nice finish from him. Nonto heavily
01:56involved in that one as well and that was 2-0 and you kind of even felt then at 2-0
02:00that was that really. Coventry then came back into it a little bit but I mean it's slim
02:04pickings to them really, Mark Robbins very disappointed with them, very complimentary
02:07about Leeds who obviously remain title favourites and are now even stronger title favourites
02:12and they say no Peru, no party and Joel Peru came off the bench to continue his recent
02:16good scoring record to make it 3-0 with another fine finish. And you know, a good day all
02:21round, the one sort of sour point for Leeds was injury to Ethan Ampadu, the club captain
02:25who tried to play on after suffering a knee injury but was forced off in the first half.
02:28Yadzinaka came on in his place and that was very, very solid. Larger Ramazani, very, very
02:33good again today. Daniel Farke said they're managing his minutes because of the physicality
02:36of the Championship but he definitely looks a player. Nonto, very, very good as well.
02:40But it's hard, I think throughout the team everybody was pretty good today and on that
02:44evidence, you know, Leeds should take some stopping really. It's only one game, this
02:47is obviously, you don't get two carried away but you've got to be very, very impressed
02:50with a 3-0 victory against this Coventry side who do, you know, obviously have started
02:54the season pretty poorly but do have some very, very good players and a very good manager
02:58in Mark Robbins. So, on to Norwich City now on Tuesday evening, then obviously on to Sunderland
03:04on Friday night. I mean, you know, three massive games and obviously nine points would be the
03:08dream scenario. I think most people would agree that even seven points or even maybe
03:12less than that would be decent. But Leeds will be going for the juggler, they'll be
03:14going for nine points and on this evidence there's no reason why they can't do it. Obviously,
03:18managing the game time of everybody will be key. Pascal Stroik and Junior Firpo are both
03:22doubts today after Knox. Both started though and came through this seemingly without any
03:27issues. That's obviously a huge plus point and as I say, just lots of ticks and lots
03:30of boxes tonight. The only sort of, as you say, the problem would be Ethan Ampadu but
03:34Daniel Varka said he hopes it wasn't too serious. So, we'll keep our fingers crossed on that
03:38score. I suppose the jury was out a little bit on Leeds after the 2-0 win at Cardiff
03:41against the Bournemouth Table team that paid three quarters of the game with just ten men.
03:45But the jury's not on a mount this evening because that was very, very good performance
03:49as it finished Leeds United 3-0, title favourites Leeds United 3-0, Coventry City 0-0.
