00:00 What is up, Texas A&M Aggies fans?
00:01 Indy Cartham here with your Texas A&M Aggies Blitz for today.
00:04 It is Wednesday, November 1st, and the Aggies are prepping for the Ole Miss Rebels.
00:12 They kind of snuck out of Kyle Field Saturday with a win, I feel like.
00:15 It wasn't the ugliest of wins, but it was not definitely the prettiest of wins, I don't
00:21 think.
00:22 But, you know what, in the Jimbo Fisher era, a win is a win is a win.
00:25 I will take it, certainly.
00:27 They don't have to be pretty.
00:28 I would just like there to be more of them, I think, as the season goes on.
00:32 I don't know how you feel about that.
00:35 But the Aggies are on the road against Ole Miss, headed to Oxford.
00:40 They play, I think it's a noon game.
00:42 I probably shouldn't have said that because I don't know for sure what it is.
00:46 I wrote the article about it and I still can't remember.
00:49 But against Ole Miss, and we're not going to get into game predictions.
00:53 We'll do that a little bit closer, probably on Friday.
00:57 There is a dubious distinction about this game that the Aggies have a chance to nullify
01:04 here.
01:06 The Aggies have not won an actual SEC road game in, well now it's over two years, two
01:15 calendar years.
01:17 We're not counting the annual Southwest Classic against the Razorbacks at AT&T Stadium in
01:23 Arlington outside of Dallas because, of course, that's a neutral site game.
01:26 It's not necessarily a road game.
01:30 So the difference is, the last time the Aggies won an actual road game, October 16, 2021.
01:43 Against who?
01:44 Well, it was a 35-14 win over the Missouri Tigers in Columbia.
01:50 They then closed out that season and in 2021, as you may remember, with losses to Ole Miss.
01:55 And then the last game of the season, a loss to LSU.
01:59 That Missouri win was the very last road win for the Aggies in the SEC.
02:06 And I feel like it's kind of a microcosm of the way things have gone for Jimbo Fisher
02:11 since he's been here.
02:12 You perform well against the teams you should perform well against, and you sort of struggle
02:17 at times against the teams that you shouldn't be.
02:21 I don't know.
02:22 I can't explain it.
02:23 Jimbo Fisher is supposed to be this offensive genius.
02:26 I don't want to get into Jimbo bashing.
02:27 That's something new for me, but when I do it, I usually can't stop.
02:32 I just feel like it's kind of a microcosm of his tenure here.
02:37 Their season is done.
02:41 The original goals for a college football playoff, which now seems ridiculous that you
02:45 would even have that goal if you're the Aggies headed into the season.
02:49 But the goal Jimbo Fisher stated now heading into Ole Miss was to be bowl eligible.
02:56 Well, you're 5-3.
02:58 You just need one more win to be bowl eligible.
03:01 You've got Ole Miss on the road, Mississippi State at home, Abilene Christian at home,
03:08 and LSU on the road to finish off the season on November 25th.
03:13 Of course, the Abilene Christian game at Kyle Field, if nothing else, will make you bowl
03:18 eligible.
03:20 But I don't know if you guys have seen this.
03:22 We're not getting into this too much either.
03:24 Monday in his press conference prepping for the Aggies, Lane Kiffin, the head coach of
03:29 Ole Miss, kind of poked some fun at Jimbo Fisher while he praised the entire roster
03:35 up and down the Aggies roster, offense, defense, and he named Edger and Cooper.
03:40 He's playing like an SEC defensive player of the year, and he's not wrong.
03:43 He praised the Aggies roster up and down, and then he poked fun at Jimbo Fisher.
03:48 But it's amazing that with that talent and that roster and those players, the goal is
03:53 just to be bowl eligible.
03:55 And then he sort of said, you know, if we can stop that from happening, then all the
04:01 better for them for Ole Miss.
04:02 So, you know, for all the crap that Jimbo Fisher gets from Lane Kiffin, and I'm not
04:07 a Lane Kiffin fan, he kind of deserves it with some of the things that comes out of
04:12 his mouth.
04:13 Anyway, the Aggies lost seven, they've lost seven in a row in SEC games on the road.
04:18 They're hoping to break that in Oxford this weekend.
04:21 Again, no predictions.
04:22 We'll get into that later in the week, maybe on Thursday or Friday, I'll do my prediction
04:28 show here on the Aggies Daily Blitz on FanStream Sports.
04:31 But you know, however long Jimbo's tenure continues to be here in Aggieland, and I don't
04:37 think it's going to be very much longer.
04:39 Don't come at me with the buyout.
04:41 I know what the buyout is.
04:42 Everyone knows what the buyout is.
04:45 The Aggies have the money, and at some point they're just going to have to say enough is
04:48 enough.
04:49 We got duped, we got pranked when we hired Jimbo Fisher.
04:53 Because it is not working, it's not going to work, it's not going to get better.
04:58 So those are my thoughts.
05:00 But when he does leave, when he's gone, look at his road record with the Aggies in SEC
05:06 play, and that's going to be one of the reasons.
05:08 He just could not get the Aggies over the hump, and it is what it is.
05:12 So hopefully this streak will break on Saturday against Ole Miss, and he can laugh at Lane
05:21 Kiffin from the other sideline, from across the field, and maybe give them a little nut
05:26 punch at midfield when they shake hands.
05:29 Maybe just a little, you know how we do.
05:32 You know how boys do.
05:33 Maybe you don't, but that's what they do.
05:34 Anyway, I'm Indy Carton.
05:36 Appreciate you guys tuning in.
05:37 We'll do it again tomorrow or Thursday, or tomorrow or Friday with another Texas A&M
05:42 Aggies Daily Blitz right here on FanStream Sports.
