James Armstrong on Mississippi State's First SEC Tournament Semifinal
Transcript
00:00 I thought it was a really hard-fought, contested game.
00:03 Credit to Arkansas, you know, scored two great goals there.
00:06 I thought we had some close chances in the first half and the second half,
00:09 and I thought we were improved in the second half.
00:11 So, really proud of the effort of the girls.
00:13 It's not easy, you know, playing overtime and penalties the other night
00:16 and coming to play against Arkansas.
00:18 So, there are a lot of things we can take from a positive here.
00:21 It's a great experience, you know.
00:23 It's the first time we've had a bye, so that's important.
00:26 First time we got to the semi-final, so that's important.
00:28 Now you've just got to learn the lessons in terms of what it takes to actually go one more.
00:33 But a lot of things we can take away, positives and things that we can work on.
00:37 I think this is the most competitive.
00:39 I've been in the SEC for 12 years now, and this is the most competitive that I've known it.
00:44 So, I think there's a lot of good teams here,
00:47 a lot of teams that could go on and compete at the start of the week.
00:50 So, high, high level of competition.
00:52 It's been awesome.
00:53 I wish the weather had been a little bit warmer,
00:55 but the hospitality has been great, great accommodation, great food.
01:00 I can't say enough about the complex.
01:04 Huge improvements to last year.
01:05 The playing surface was great.
01:07 Locker rooms were great.
01:08 So, overall, a really well-run tournament.
