00:00 What is up Texas A&M Aggies fans?
00:10 Indy Card Sam here with your A&M Daily Blitz.
00:12 It is the Ole Miss postgame edition of the Blitz.
00:17 Lots of stuff to talk about as the Aggies fall to the Rebels 38-35 as yes, Randy Bonds
00:27 partially blocked 41-yard field goal attempt at the end of the game.
00:31 Secures another victory for Lane Kiffin over Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies.
00:35 And boys and girls, this one was somewhat ugly.
00:39 There were a few bright spots for the Aggies today, not many.
00:44 Max Johnson may be one of the low lights again.
00:48 And guys, I'm a Max Johnson supporter.
00:50 I love Max Johnson.
00:52 But man, he has made some head-scratching decisions on the field.
00:57 You know, if any of you are Cowboys fans, just think Dak Prescott.
01:02 Alright?
01:03 He's kind of playing like Dak Prescott the last couple of weeks.
01:07 But you know, the Aggies had their chances and you know, the Rebels had their chances
01:13 earlier to put this game away and make it not even close.
01:16 I don't know how many interceptions their defense can drop.
01:19 They've got a great defense, but good Lord, you had at least one there on the Aggies drive
01:25 where they took the lead, that was a pick six.
01:28 It would have put the game away.
01:29 I can't remember who the defender was.
01:30 Hit him right in the hands as he jumped an out route.
01:34 Had smooth sailing in front of him for a big six and he just dropped it.
01:38 Later on that same drive, again, don't remember who the defender was, on that deep ball down
01:43 the left sideline, the safety came over and we thought caught the ball.
01:48 It was called an interception on the field, but he was juggling it as he went out of bounds.
01:52 So it was called back, thankfully for the Aggies, who then scored and took the lead
01:57 on that drive.
01:58 But of course it would not last.
02:02 You know, you kind of feel for Randy Bond, you feel for the Aggies.
02:06 And but man, you know, I know Ole Miss is the 10th ranked team in the country, but you
02:11 know, the Aggies have every bit of the talent level and more than the Rebels do.
02:18 And I'd like to think Jimbo Fisher is a better coach than Lane Kiffin, but I don't even know
02:23 that anymore, to be honest with you guys.
02:26 But as our mascot here comes into the frame of the picture.
02:30 But you know, the Aggies, again, they had their chances and Kiffin gave all of the credit
02:37 to the Aggies and to Fisher, you know, in the postgame as he's kind of been mocking
02:41 them recently.
02:42 He said credit to the, credit to A&M for playing a good game.
02:46 They took us down to the wire.
02:48 Well, you know, they shouldn't have though, Lane, you know.
02:50 You should have put this ball, this game away early.
02:54 Johnson finished 31 of 42, 305 passing yards.
02:56 He had one touchdown.
02:57 Of course he connected with his brother on one of those touchdowns.
03:01 You always like to see that, or at least I do.
03:05 And then, you know, the defense to me was the story of the day for A&M, particularly
03:14 the secondary.
03:16 And it's been a point of contention all season.
03:19 The Aggies pass rush was decent.
03:22 I wouldn't say it was great.
03:25 I don't know that I'd say it was good.
03:26 They got to Jackson Dart on several occasions, but on others they gave him all the time in
03:32 the world to find open receivers.
03:34 And boy howdy did they have open receivers the entire day.
03:39 Jackson Dart goes 24-33, 387 yards and two touchdowns.
03:46 And receiver Trey Harris, who went off on the Aggies today, caught 11 of those passes
03:52 and one of those touchdowns for 213 yards as he burned the Aggies secondary.
03:59 And there's your game right there.
04:01 There's the story of the game, guys, because this secondary has just looked pitiful all
04:10 year.
04:11 And I don't understand it.
04:14 You know, I haven't broken down game film to see where the deficiencies are, but the
04:17 deficiencies are there, clearly.
04:19 And that's one thing that needs to get cleaned up, needs to get fixed ASAP.
04:24 You know, the Aggies now 5-4 on the season.
04:29 Aggies still got some opportunities to become bowl eligible, and I'm telling you right now,
04:33 the only win I will predict for the rest of the season is going to be against Abilene
04:38 Christian on November 18th.
04:41 That will get the Aggies bowl eligible, if you want to call it that, I guess, because
04:45 I don't see a win over Mississippi State.
04:51 Coming up next week at Kyle Field, and then you play LSU in Baton Rouge to end the season,
04:56 of course, on November 25th, and I don't see this defense being able to stop either one
05:02 of those teams.
05:03 Not that Mississippi State's anything great, but I don't see the defense, you know, stopping
05:08 either one of those teams.
05:10 And it'll come down to scoring, and I still think Max Johnson's going to make terrible
05:14 decisions, throw a couple of picks.
05:16 He should have had at least two picks today, and that would have been the story of the
05:19 game for you for sure.
05:20 So anyway, the Aggies fall 38-35 to the Ole Miss Rebels and Lane Kiffin, so just more
05:27 billboard fodder for Lane Kiffin.
05:30 I can't wait to see his press conferences.
05:32 I'm sure he's going to have some snide comment for the talent level that Jimbo Fisher has
05:38 and their goal of just being bowl eligible.
05:41 It was pretty funny if you guys didn't catch that last week and the week before, the preparation
05:46 there for Ole Miss.
05:48 But anyway, we will do it all again probably on Monday with another wrap-up show, maybe
05:54 something a little more in-depth as we start to get ready for Mississippi State.
05:57 Look for those podcasts throughout the week.
