00:10 How do you feel coming out of it and did you need to take a couple of those hits to
00:20 make it feel like you were back to being healthy and good to go?
00:30 >> Yeah, I mean, it's part of football.
00:40 So I didn't wanna go out there and, like I said before, just play handicap or
00:46 hold myself to a disadvantage because of the injury that I had before.
00:52 So I came to help you, I feel good, and I just gotta keep going and
00:56 try to make this a better day.
00:58 >> I'm very, very close to myself.
01:01 Why not all the way?
01:02 What's missing?
01:04 >> I'm not 100%, I just came from injury.
01:07 So yeah, I just miss whatever, wherever I was, 19 or 30.
01:12 So I miss a couple of throws that I want, that I know I can make.
01:16 And yeah, I just gotta keep striving and
01:19 I'm striving to get better each and every opportunity that I get.
01:23 >> Marty said he thought you were back on that first throw to him.
01:27 When did you feel like you were at least back in terms of,
01:31 within the context of the day?
01:33 >> Probably Monday, Monday or Tuesday.
01:37 >> You took off on that third down run, 13 yards, and you single first down.
01:44 Did you know then that you're gonna be able to run the ball like you have in the past?
01:48 >> No, I knew I wasn't gonna be able to have opportunities to use my feet and
01:52 run the ball.
01:53 But if I don't have to, a couple times, toss it to the drone, that's fine.
01:58 So it's best for them to be able to get the ball in their hands and make plays.
02:03 That's what their skill position is for.
02:06 So instead of me taking off, I just give it to them.
02:08 And whenever I need to, I can do that too.
02:10 >> How much confidence did you get when you let it rip on that 59 yarder to Amari,
02:16 and your arm held up and it went where it was supposed to?
02:19 What kind of confidence boost was that for you?
02:22 >> It wasn't a confidence boost.
02:25 I already knew I couldn't do that.
02:26 So like I said before, I've been preparing for the last six weeks to come out here
02:32 and try to perform as best I can.
02:35 And that's how it was.
02:37 I just stayed the course, block out the noise.
02:39 And I know my body, and I know the training staff and the medical protocols that we
02:43 went through to get back to this stage.
02:46 >> Kevin said you and Amari drew up that last long one in the dirt.
02:49 So what went into that discussion and the decision to go ahead with that play?
02:54 >> Yeah, we just saw it look.
02:55 That was their kind of pressure of the day or kind of look of the day on third down,
03:00 to try to double two.
03:02 And they've been doing it all game.
03:03 And we had a couple opportunities that I missed.
03:06 Marquise down the middle one time.
03:09 I think another time where I flipped it, flipped the protection.
03:13 They left out.
03:15 And then the second time they brought it, I didn't get to flip it because the clock was going.
03:18 So we kind of knew that that was their flavor of the day.
03:22 And if we saw that same look, let's match the tech.
03:25 Let's see if we get a shot, just throw off the safety.
03:27 So we just kind of drew up on the sideline and it worked.
03:31 >> I'll just say that's a slant touchdown to Amari.
03:34 Didn't exactly know the way you drew it up.
03:36 But just what's going through your mind when you see it get deflected like that,
03:39 and it seemed like hung up in the air forever, but Amari was able to come down with it?
03:43 >> Either make it hit the ground or two get it.
03:47 So it kind of worked out in our favor today.
03:54 So it was awesome.
03:56 >> In the euphoria of this victory and you coming back and everything,
04:00 you guys may have lost Jed for a long period of time.
04:05 I'm not sure.
04:06 Maybe even a season.
04:07 So can you just address the possibility of losing maybe your left tackle for a long period of time?
04:12 >> Yeah, it's tough.
04:13 I mean, injuries, of course, it's part of the game, but you never want any injuries like that.
04:18 And I'm praying for Jed.
04:20 And we all told him that we're right here supporting him.
04:23 He's going to get through.
04:24 I'm not sure what the injury is, but we'll find out tomorrow.
04:27 But we're going to be right there supporting him.
04:29 And whenever he gets the opportunity to come back and get back on that field, I know he's going to be ready to go.
04:34 So it's one of those plays where you got brought up on and it's just a crazy, crazy injury.
04:40 >> You mentioned you're not 100% yet, but do you feel like you've been able to -- are you past this now in terms of an injury for the rest of the year?
04:48 Are you still concerned that one hit could start this all over again?
04:52 >> No, that's part of football.
04:55 One play can be a changing injury.
04:59 So like I said, when I step on the field, I'm not worried about that.
05:02 I'm going out there and trying to be the best I can be and try to make every throw
05:06 and try to make sure that I go out there and have positivity for that energy for the offense.
05:13 So I'm not thinking about a hit or anything like that.
05:16 I'm just going out there trying to execute the play.
05:18 >> Is it nice to get this one under your belt and have a nice game and let it rip a couple of times,
05:23 take some of those hits before you have to face Baltimore this coming week?
05:27 >> No, my focus was Arizona.
05:29 We wasn't thinking about Baltimore.
05:31 So we're just focused on Arizona.
05:34 We're going to celebrate this win, and then whenever we get back in the facility sometime next week, Tuesday,
05:41 then we'll focus on Baltimore.
05:43 So every win is a great win in the NFL, regardless of the record, regardless of the team.
05:48 Every win is hard to do.
05:50 So, yeah, we're going to enjoy this, and then later on this week, once we flip the page,
05:55 after we watch the tape, we'll focus on Baltimore.
05:58 >> After all the talk about your shoulder, your shoulder, your shoulder,
06:01 how do you feel about your chances as a competitor to get back on the field
06:04 and put all that behind you for this week?
06:06 >> It's always good.
06:07 Like I said before, I just didn't listen to the outside notes because people don't understand what's going on.
06:14 You know, just kind of whatever opinions they want to have, and they're entitled to those opinions.
06:19 So, you know, for me, it wasn't going to stop me from doing what I'm doing.
06:23 So I knew when I was going to be ready, and the opportunity came this week,
06:27 and I went out there and played pretty decent to have the team win.
06:30 >> What did you see out of your defense this week?
06:32 >> Able to drop, and then just to get a goose egg in the NFL is tough to do.
06:37 So, I mean, they did a great job, played complimentary football.
06:40 Special teams did a good job of flipping the field, playing field position, and, you know, it was a complete game.
06:45 Of course, we left a lot on the field, but it was good to be able to get this done.
06:49 >> How about those that got in the career and you converted a couple of short yard situations,
06:54 scored a split push now, and they get like six weeks.
06:57 What can you say about what he's able to give you on the ground?
07:00 >> That's Green. That's what he do.
07:02 He's a tough running back, very smart, but he's competitive, and he wants to do whatever he can.
07:06 He's going to do the dirty job, you know, for the running backs, get the tough yards,
07:10 and, you know, he has the opportunity to get in the end zone.
07:13 He's going to make sure he can do that.
07:15 So I like my chances with Green, especially on the goal line for sure.
07:20 >> With defense being this good and the offense continuing to start to round into the form,
07:25 what is the ceiling for this team?
07:27 >> There's no ceiling. The sky is wide open.
07:29 So we're going to go as far as we want to take us, and we've got to just keep stacking with it for days,
07:35 keep stacking these wins, and focus on that.
07:38 We don't put a ceiling on ourselves. We don't put any limitations.
07:41 So like I said, we focus on Weston-Berea and that facility, and we go from there from that locker room.
07:47 >> Did you have to push through a few early passes that didn't go your way
07:51 and just kind of just stay with it and keep grinding until it started to go better?
07:57 >> I'm going to say we can.
07:58 Some games you start off 10 straight.
08:00 Some games you start off five in a row that's incomplete.
08:04 That's part of the game. That's part of it, all that.
08:06 So you've just got to continue to just keep pushing through.
08:08 It's a long game, 60 minutes, and, you know, things can happen.
08:10 Things can change fast.
08:12 So, yeah, it's just kind of just keep working through it, and let the game come to you.
08:17 You can't force it.
08:18 >> Back to that play you were talking about.
08:20 What does it mean to you that Kevin is willing to listen to you guys?
08:25 You see something out there, you're able to point it out,
08:28 and he gives you the latitude to go ahead and drop what ended up being a pretty big explosive play.
08:34 >> Yeah, he just trusts us.
08:35 You know, he trusts what we see because we put the preparation in throughout the week,
08:39 and that's what we saw.
08:41 And, you know, he wanted to make sure that, you know, he gave me the play,
08:44 and he gave me the opportunity to check it, and that's what I did, and we capitalized on it.
08:49 So more times we see that, he trusts our preparation, and we capitalized,
08:53 and I think more opportunities he wanted to let us do that, so it was cool.
08:56 >> Thank you.
08:57 >> Thanks.
