00:00 It has been a rough few weeks for the Texas A&M football program.
00:05 After a back and forth game, the Aggies fell 38-35 to the Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday.
00:11 While Kyle Field is known for having a huge home field advantage, in order to be a contender,
00:15 teams must learn how to win on the road, and the Aggies have not figured that out yet.
00:20 This loss now marks the ninth consecutive road game loss for the Aggies.
00:25 While the game was close, the Aggies fell to 5-4 on the season and 3-3 in SEC play and
00:31 now have no more room for errors.
00:34 Receiver Aniah Smith commented that them not being able to get the job done hurt.
00:40 He then went on to say it was tough being able to get that close and not being able
00:44 to come through.
00:46 Unfortunately, road losses have become a normal part of this program, seeing how the last
00:52 road win for the Aggies was against Missouri back on October 16, 2021.
00:58 A positive in this dark situation is that the Aggies offense has finally found its rhythm
01:03 after lackluster performances against Alabama and Tennessee.
01:08 Max Johnson, the backup quarterback, has produced in multiple games, in this one connecting
01:13 with Jadae Walker for over 100 yards and Jake Johnson for a touchdown.
01:18 Johnson finished the day 31-0-42 with 305 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
01:25 The offensive line allowed pressure to a potent Rebels front seven, but Pete Golding's squad
01:30 could only muster up one sack in a tackle for loss.
01:34 In the second half, the Aggies outscored and outgained the Rebels, not allowing a Johnson
01:39 red zone interception to derail the goal.
01:42 The Aggies bent but refused to break, despite Quintin Duncan's two late rushing touchdowns,
01:48 giving Ole Miss the three-point lead.
01:51 Johnson fought back, allowing his Aggies a chance to tie it up with a Randy Bond field
01:55 goal.
01:56 Bond's field goal was deflected in the air, falling short, and giving the Rebels the last
02:00 second win.
02:01 Now, with a bowl game in question, the Aggies have three more games to do so.
02:07 Two of those remaining games are at home against Mississippi State and Abilene Christian.
02:13 Then to close the season out, a trip to Baton Rouge to take on the LSU Tigers in Death Valley,
02:19 and a chance to upset the Tigers two years in a row and finally break the road game curse.
02:25 From all Aggies, I'm Alexandra Cox.
