00:00 After what feels like a lifetime of talk and gossip, the Texas A&M Aggies have
00:05 officially fired head coach Jimbo Fisher on Sunday. The Aggies part ways with
00:10 Fisher after six seasons with him at the helm of the program. Athletic director
00:15 Ross Bjork made the news official on Sunday morning stating, "After a
00:21 very careful analysis of the components related to Texas A&M football, I
00:25 recommended to President Welsh and the Chancellor Sharp that a change in the
00:29 leadership of our program was necessary in order for Aggie football to reach our
00:34 full potential and they accepted my decision." Bjork also said, "We
00:39 appreciate Coach Fisher's time here at Texas A&M and we wish him the best in
00:43 his future endeavors." With two regular season games left, associate head coach
00:48 and run game coordinator Elijah Robinson will serve as the Aggies interim coach
00:53 until there is a new hire made. Despite Fisher's elite recruiting efforts, the
00:58 translation to on-field success was non-existent as the Aggies were 45-25
01:04 overall and 27-21 in SEC play along with never having more than a nine-game
01:11 winning season. As a result of the firing, A&M must now pay Fisher a college
01:16 football record of a 76 million dollar buyout. From all Aggies, I'm Alexandra Cox.
