Western Michigan Struggles with Quarterback Dilemma

00:02 Pretty mediocre teams.
00:04 I mean, not like, they're not like the worst teams
00:06 in the MAAC or anything like that,
00:08 but these are teams that really like to run the ball.
00:10 I mean, obviously it's the MAAC,
00:12 that is what these teams do.
00:14 Western Michigan is cycled through three quarterbacks,
00:18 Hayden Wolfe, Tracen Burgett, and Jack Salopek this year.
00:21 They don't have an answer at quarterback.
00:23 Central Michigan actually has a quarterback,
00:25 but he just loves to run.
00:27 Jace Bauer, I like his any time touchdown as well,
00:30 if you wanna do that.
00:31 But I think, and Ann, I mean, your classic mid,
00:34 you know, rivalry week, right?
00:35 These rivalry games, a lot of the times it's gonna be,
00:38 it's gonna be kind of sloppy, high emotion,
00:40 things like that.
00:41 And 58, 58 just feels very high
00:44 for a Tuesday night college football game.
00:47 So I'm siding on the under here.
00:49 - It feels like the total's a little high in that game
00:52 and maybe a little low in the other two games,
00:55 but you like something else in those.

01:05 Now Ball State, they are one of the worst teams in the FBS.

01:17 But it's just that I am not certain
01:20 that Northern Illinois needs to be favored
01:23 by more than a touchdown against any team.
01:26 They have this fella, Rocky Lombardi,
01:29 who has been in college football since 2018.
01:33 He started out his career as the backup quarterback
01:36 at Michigan State.
01:37 He is now in year six at Northern Illinois.
01:40 It's only the second year that he's ever started
01:43 because that's the situation.
01:44 I mean, look, he's Rocky Lombardi.
01:46 It is what it is.
01:47 So nine and a half points.
01:48 I just, I couldn't believe it
01:50 that it was nine and a half points.
01:51 Like now, if this was six and a half, sure, whatever.
01:54 I'll take Northern Illinois,
01:55 but nine and a half, no team.
01:57 They just don't deserve to be favored that much.
02:00 - And finally, in the trio of matching games tonight,
02:03 the Bobcats of Ohio head to Western New York
02:06 to meet the Bulls of Buffalo.
02:09 - Yeah, same thing, same deal here.
02:11 We are taking Buffalo in the points
02:13 on the exact same philosophy that we just took Ball State.
02:16 And this is actually something that served me pretty well
02:19 other than Sam Houston State.
02:21 I mean, we just bet against Sam Houston State
02:23 every single week, but these home teams
02:26 that the market just makes the assumption like,
02:27 oh, they can't possibly keep up
02:29 with a six and three Bobcats team.
02:32 I mean, I just don't really, I just don't really see it.
02:35 So we are taking the dog Buffalo Bulls at home here.
