00:13 Chasing the Alaskan pipeline of the Dalton Highway, our Motor Trend Editor steered the

00:17 Hummer H2 north towards Prudhoe Bay in the Arctic Ocean.

00:21 Along the way, we've been greeted by bird-sized mosquitoes, make lots of friends, stay in

00:26 really classy hotels, and do a bit of swimming.

00:29 Let's join John and Jeff as they tell us more about their adventures.

00:34 We just started on the Dalton Highway, which goes from just north of Fairbanks, Alaska,

00:38 all the way up to the Arctic Circle.

00:40 It's about 415 miles each direction of dirt road.

00:44 There's rocks, there's debris, there's potholes, and most of all, there's a lot of fast-moving

00:48 trucks, so you've got to watch it.

00:50 Here comes one now.

00:55 It's almost 10 o'clock at night right now, still plenty of sunlight left to drive.

00:59 We've been driving for a while, but there's still probably about 300 more miles of this

01:03 Dalton Highway to go.

01:04 I don't know if we're going to make it all tonight, but we're going to keep pushing hard.

01:25 Well it's almost midnight here.

01:28 As you can see, we just arrived at the Arctic Circle.

01:31 It's great and all, but by far this is the worst mosquito habitat I've ever been in in

01:37 my entire life.

01:39 They claim OnStar works everywhere, but we've just arrived at the Arctic Circle.

01:43 We're going to put this to the test.

01:48 Well, we weren't able to connect with OnStar.

01:57 We're going to try the Iridium satellite phone and see if we can connect.
