00:00 If you know your military history, private individuals began buying Jeeps after their
00:07 use in World War II, introducing them to Mohab about 1946.
00:12 Rusty Salmon, co-creator of the Dan-O-Lori Museum explains.
00:16 Actually the jeeping goes back to the end of World War II with the old Willys and the
00:24 first of the Jeeps that were brought into the area were actually used as guide services.
00:29 And a few locals decided this was a good way to get people into our outback country was
00:34 with these new vehicles that were coming out of the war.
00:41 And around the early 1960s, some local people in addition to clubs like the Rotary Club
00:49 and such decided to actually put on an event that would bring people in.
00:54 And everybody was here for the boom times.
00:58 We're really excited to have people come in and enjoy the area.
01:02 And so those kind of people really promoted it and it's been going on ever since, getting
01:06 bigger and bigger the first year, a trail, two trails, and now there's days and days
01:12 of many, many trails that you could be involved in.
