00:02 It's the busiest time of the year, earnings season.
00:04 This week we have major companies like Apple, Amazon,
00:08 Google, and more reporting.
00:10 So we wanna get you prepped for everything you need to know.
00:12 Before we talk earnings for a second,
00:13 we're gonna talk about the US economic reports
00:16 and Fed speakers that are happening this week.
00:18 As we get into this, I'm Gav Blacksburg,
00:21 also known as Wolf Financial.
00:22 I'm here with Evan from Stock Market News.
00:24 Make sure, take a second right now,
00:26 subscribe to this channel.
00:27 It's just free content covering earnings,
00:30 economic reports, and news from the stock market
00:32 on a weekly basis so that you can be an informed
00:35 and profitable investor.
00:37 Let's get right into it.
00:38 This week, we don't have anything on Monday,
00:40 but we have a busy week, really from Wednesday on.
00:43 Evan, what's standing out to you this week?
00:46 - Economic calendar, number one thing we have to look at
00:49 is Wednesday at 2 p.m. Eastern,
00:52 the FOMC will be raising rates.
00:54 It is pretty much across the board expected
00:56 they're gonna be raising rates by 25 basis points,
00:59 but that will definitely be on watch.
01:00 And then Jerome Powell will be having his press conference
01:04 at 2.30 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday,
01:06 which definitely has to be watched.
01:08 Those are 100% the biggest macro events for this week.
01:12 Also on watch, there's jobs data numbers.
01:15 So we're gonna have ADP employment report.
01:18 We're also, I believe, gonna have nonfarm payroll
01:21 and a couple other stuff as well.
01:22 So definitely make sure you are looking out
01:24 for all those job numbers,
01:26 but by far biggest macro event this week,
01:28 FOMC raising rates and Jerome Powell press conference.
01:31 Anything I didn't hit on there?
01:33 - No, you hit it.
01:34 Yep, that FOMC meeting is the meat of the week.
01:38 And then Thursday morning, initial jobless claims,
01:40 continuing jobless claims, those come out at 8.30 a.m.
01:42 So we'll have them before market open.
01:44 And then Friday, nonfarm payrolls and employment rate,
01:46 also before market open.
01:49 And then we have those ISM services index.
01:51 That's the only thing that'll be coming out Friday
01:53 after market open.
01:54 That really, I think we pay attention
01:56 to maybe a little bit of services PMI.
01:58 So yeah, I think we hit on it really well.
01:59 Keep an eye out.
02:00 We'll be live on Twitter spaces for that FOMC meeting.
02:03 So if you have a Twitter account,
02:05 make sure that you're tuning in and listening.
02:07 During that, let's dive right into the week of earnings.
02:09 This is a bright, shiny week over here
02:12 with a lot of big names to go over.
02:14 There's not too much to pay attention to on Monday.
02:16 We have SoFi in the early morning.
02:19 We're not really gonna dive too far into that.
02:21 But once you get into the rest of the week,
02:22 really starting out with Exxon GM, UPS, Pfizer,
02:26 Caterpillar, McDonald's, Spotify, that morning is busy,
02:30 especially the close too, right?
02:31 You know, AMD, Snap, Amgen, Supermicro.
02:34 I think that's SMCI right there.
02:36 So there's a lot coming through in that latter half
02:39 of the week is loaded.
02:40 We wanna make this, you know,
02:42 not as quick as possible necessarily,
02:44 but as easy to understand and comprehend as possible.
02:48 So we're gonna do just a quick run through.
02:49 We're gonna give you expectations for each of them.
02:51 We're gonna do it in a good amount of time.
02:54 Let's dive right in on Tuesday.
02:56 Anything that you wanna specifically discuss
02:58 from Tuesday, Evan?
03:00 - Yeah, quickly.
03:01 So what you are looking at on this page,
03:03 so where it says UPS, United Parcel, that's a stock.
03:06 Right below that is the time you should expect
03:08 the numbers to be released.
03:09 So for UPS, it's 6 a.m. Eastern,
03:12 General Motors, 6.30, Exxon, 6.30.
03:14 And then next to that is EPS and revenue.
03:17 That is what Wall Street analysts are expecting.
03:19 Generally, it is the consensus.
03:21 So they're gonna take 10, 12, 15 analysts
03:23 and just take the average of it.
03:25 That is what you are seeing here.
03:26 And you can see all the different expectations going on.
03:30 UPS is expected, EPS at $3.58,
03:34 GM, $1.65, Exxon Mobil, 3.32 billion, and so on.
03:39 I don't wanna read off all the numbers to you,
03:41 but you can see them all in front of you.
03:43 Wolf, is there one specific earnings on Tuesday?
03:46 This is just Tuesday morning.
03:47 That's crazy to think about how much we have here.
03:49 There's one earning on Tuesday morning
03:50 that you'll be watching the most.
03:52 I think for me, it might be these McDonald's ones,
03:55 but I know a lot of people will be on Exxon.
03:58 - Yeah, Exxon Mobil is gonna be a big one.
03:59 McDonald's, Caterpillar has been at all-time highs.
04:02 Spotify just laid off people.
04:04 Pfizer is in the news story right now
04:05 with a lot of different problems, I would say,
04:08 that are going on for them.
04:09 So I think that there's a ton to keep an eye out.
04:12 Not really specifying out just one of them
04:14 because there's just so many big names.
04:15 Then that theme really continues into the evening,
04:18 especially in more of a tech sector with AMD
04:22 kind of leading the charge here
04:23 for some of those semis.
04:26 Snap, which always has volatile earnings,
04:29 hopefully won't disappoint this time.
04:31 It's always a 20% or one way or the other,
04:34 and then just so many more, you know, Match, EA.
04:37 So a little bit less because these are the two big ones,
04:40 but yeah, an interesting afternoon as well.
04:41 You wanna go into Wednesday?
04:43 - Yep, for sure.
04:45 I agree with you.
04:46 Snap by far the biggest two on that day.
04:48 Separates itself, oh, at least in after hours.
04:51 They do separate themselves a little bit.
04:53 Wednesday morning, we got a couple names.
04:55 Waste management has become pretty popular,
04:57 has been for a while.
04:58 I imagine we will still keep making garbage indefinitely,
05:02 but we also have T-Mobile, Peloton, Altria,
05:05 and a few others going on Wednesday morning.
05:09 I believe Humana just got a massive,
05:11 like $16.3 billion contract with the US government,
05:15 and I didn't see anyone really talking about that.
05:17 So pretty interesting.
05:18 I'll be watching the earnings this week.
05:19 - Yeah, they have really high revenue expectations.
05:21 You know, we have this sorted by popularity right now,
05:24 not necessarily sorted by market cap or anything like that,
05:27 but you can just see right now, you know,
05:29 just how much more in revenue
05:31 some of these companies do than others.
05:33 But you also wanna see it then and day,
05:34 how does that convert into EPS
05:36 and have that for comparison as well.
05:39 Good stuff there from these two companies
05:41 going into the after, the after close earnings
05:45 that are coming out on Wednesday.
05:46 This is where some of the big names start here,
05:48 really with Meta, I think is the name that stands out.
05:51 Kulik & Sofa is a name that I'm familiar with, Align,
05:54 but Meta is, I think, like the one that stands out here.
05:56 Right?
05:57 - Yeah, I'd say that's a company
05:58 that's a little bit below Meta,
06:00 but also important to note that this is the day
06:02 we get Jerome Powell and FOMC,
06:04 so it'll be FOMC into Meta earnings.
06:07 But yeah, definitely that's the one that's standing out.
06:09 Facebook, Facebook earnings.
06:11 I told myself I'm gonna keep calling it Facebook
06:13 until the stock price is over
06:14 where they made the conversion.
06:16 - Sounds like a plan.
06:17 Rolling into Thursday morning,
06:20 we'll be coming off of that FOMC.
06:22 We'll have a little bit of data in the morning.
06:23 We'll have Eli Lilly, Merck, ConocoPhillips.
06:26 These are a bunch of big names
06:28 that are just getting more attention nowadays,
06:30 especially Merck to the downside, I would say.
06:32 The healthcare industry has just been so interesting
06:34 with the way that it moves.
06:36 Not too much else, I would say,
06:37 but really the one I'll let you take here
06:39 is after hours on Thursday.
06:41 - Yeah, after hours on Thursday is going to be wild.
06:46 It'll be absolutely crazy.
06:46 So we have Apple, Amazon, and Google all reporting earnings.
06:50 Google and Amazon are gonna come out
06:52 pretty much at the exact same time.
06:54 So that should be a fun couple minutes right after close.
06:57 But outside of those names,
06:59 we also have Ford, Qualcomm, Starbucks, US Steel, Gilead.
07:04 It goes down a hill a little bit
07:05 when people talk about after Starbucks.
07:07 - Don't forget.
07:09 - MicroStrategy or Sketchers?
07:10 - Sketchers.
07:12 - There we go.
07:13 - Yeah, there's a lot going on here.
07:15 Yeah.
07:16 - Even random names like Clorox.
07:17 Yeah, I was just gonna say that at the bottom.
07:20 I've used build.com before.
07:21 Oh no, I don't think I have.
07:22 I think that's a Chinese company actually.
07:24 But Apple, Amazon, Google,
07:25 definitely by far the largest names here.
07:27 There will be some interest
07:28 in Ford, Qualcomm, and Starbucks as well.
07:31 But what is this?
07:33 This is probably 30% of the NASDAQ 100 report.
07:38 You're reporting earnings in one day.
07:41 - Yeah, they're pellets on the-
07:42 - And probably 15% of the S&P 500
07:46 is reporting in the same day.
07:48 - Yeah, pretty crazy.
07:49 We got a ton coming this week.
07:51 So that's everything.
07:52 We've covered it all.
07:53 You've seen it all.
07:55 As we said, we'll be live for all of it.
07:56 We're gonna be live on Twitter spaces.
07:58 You can just come to @Wolf_Financial
08:00 or @StockMKTNews with a Z at the end on Twitter
08:04 and you'll see it.
08:05 Of course, we'll also upload a recap video
08:07 to these channels.
08:08 So make sure that you're subscribed, following, liking,
08:11 and you will see more coming along your way.
08:14 That does it for me on this one.
08:15 Anything else for yourself, Evan?
08:18 - I appreciate it.
08:19 If you enjoyed the video,
08:19 make sure to like and subscribe.
08:21 If you have any thoughts, anything you want us to add,
08:23 and the next time we do this, as Wolf said that,
08:25 we're gonna be doing this every single week.
08:28 Let us know in the comments below
08:29 and good luck to everybody
08:31 in the craziest week of the year.
08:33 Hopefully it goes well.
