00:04 All right, we start Donnie with CJ Stroud, who at this moment is the -550
00:10 Offensive Rookie of the Year odds on favorite. As we have said, they are starting to engrave
00:15 and chisel his name into that award and the trophy as we speak. But it's not just about
00:21 the Offensive Rookie of the Year, maybe it's further for CJ Stroud. You look at the pass
00:26 yards right now. Top 7 in the NFL, 2,270. 14 passing scores. That's more than Kenny Pickett
00:34 has had in his entire career, but it's also top 10 this year in the National Football League. A
00:39 top 5 passer rating, and he's only thrown one interception, the least amount thrown by any
00:45 quarterback who has started multiple games for his organization this season. So Donnie, the buy
00:51 or sell question to you is this, CJ Stroud is already an elite NFL QB. Yes, I'm gonna buy this,
01:00 and the reason being is here, what are we complaining about most here in 2023? Scoring
01:04 is down, terrible quarterback play, and you know who should be leading the charge with that? CJ
01:09 Stroud going like, what do you want me to do, Ben? I'm a rookie quarterback. I'm supposed to
01:13 hold up my end of the bargain in my first year to try to hold up quarterback play in the NFL.
01:17 There's no excuses here, and also he doesn't have Justin Jefferson. He doesn't have AJ Brown. He's
01:22 got Nico Collins on the outside here that you're trying to do damage with at this point. You know,
01:27 Tank Dell here, and I'm not, you know, besmirching them by any stretch here. They're solid wide
01:32 receivers, but it's not like we're expected to have an up-tempo, high-octane offense with a
01:36 rookie quarterback on the Texans this year. He has been absolutely wonderful at the quarterback
01:41 position, and as you said, a top 5 already in passer rating in a season where most quarterbacks
01:46 are struggling. He's supposed to be struggling, and he is not. So based on the statistics right
01:52 now, halfway through the season, he's an upper echelon quarterback on his way to being a lead
01:57 if he's not already there. I love everything I see out of CJ Stroud. Bye, bye, bye, Ben. Let's do it.
02:04 DRS will do that later in the show as well, but I would agree. Now, the term "elite" is thrown out
02:10 a ton around the National Football League, so is he truly an elite quarterback? I think that
02:16 remains to be seen, but should he be in the conversation this year for top 10 in the NFL?
02:22 Certainly so. Donnie, we have talked about the MVP odds around CJ Stroud, that earlier this week,
02:27 just about 48 hours ago, was $130 to 1. If he wasn't a rookie, and maybe he wasn't playing for
02:34 the Houston Texans at this moment, that price would be $30 to 1 or shorter. Well, it's growing
02:40 shorter by more than $30. $130 to 1, Donnie, is now plus $9,500 for CJ Stroud below that $100
02:49 to 1 number. Is he going to win the MVP award? More than likely no, but should he be in the
02:55 conversation, and would he be if he was a three- or four-year NFL vet? Absolutely so.
03:01 What he is doing right now with the Houston Texans is remarkable.
