00:10 >> Yeah, I think we knew we were close and
00:18 we were just doing little things, shooting ourselves in the foot,
00:22 dropping passes, penalties, obviously the pick six was terrible.
00:26 Just being able to hang in there, we knew, hey, we can move along as you guys.
00:30 Peace scores, gotta relax, take it one play at a time.
00:32 Just one play, do your job, and we'll find a way to get it done.
00:36 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:38 >> Jack, what does a win like this do for the team to be able to go down, come back,
00:43 and then come away with a win, and keep your chances of playing the ACC
00:47 championship game up?
00:49 >> Yeah, obviously, the goal every week is to win the game, and
00:53 that's what we found a way to do.
00:54 It wasn't pretty by any means, but I think that's a sign of a good team to be
00:58 able to, hey, when things are going your way, find a way to win.
01:01 I think, again, that's another step for us.
01:05 We've had a couple games where, hey, we've been down, and
01:08 we found a way to come back and win.
01:09 And we just gotta keep building off that, and learn from this game, and
01:12 then just get ready for next week and move forward.
01:14 >> Jack, questions too for Aubrey Russell?
01:19 >> I'll start with Jack.
01:19 Just to play with Mario, tie things up.
01:21 He had so much space on that.
01:23 How was he able to break away, and what did you see on that?
01:26 >> Yeah, we actually had a similar play, I think it was in the second quarter,
01:31 that I had missed Jamari deep.
01:34 And we had a similar kind of route concept on there, and
01:38 they were in cover too, and we were just split down the middle.
01:41 And he's a fast guy now, so he was able to get behind the defense, and
01:47 then from there, he was just trying to pitch a catch.
01:51 >> Jack, you kind of touched on it a little bit.
01:53 You had the game against Indiana, and the game against Georgia Tech,
01:55 where you guys really had to dig down to pull those out.
01:58 How much do experiences like that help you on nights like tonight,
02:01 where it's another tough game, you gotta kind of dig for it?
02:04 >> Yeah, I think just being able to draw back on past experiences we've had.
02:09 Guys on this team have played a lot of football, and
02:11 we never thought we were out of the game.
02:16 We're all good on the sideline, positive, and we just knew, hey,
02:19 the game's four quarters long, and it might not be going our way right now,
02:23 but we're gonna find a way to make it go our way.
02:25 >> Isaac, that run at the end,
02:31 you had a bunch of big runs, obviously, last Saturday, this one,
02:35 another one where you just seemed to find a gap in getting a big run up there.
02:39 What did you see as a result?
02:41 >> I mean, like I said last week, very similar.
02:44 We just got a lot of people on the offense who are greedy.
02:47 Just making a hole like that in the crunch time, that's huge.
02:53 The line did a great job.
02:55 Obviously, I have to rewatch on film to see all the other blocks that were made on
02:59 that play, I'm sure, but obviously, I gotta give credit to the whole line on that.
03:05 >> When a player goes down like Karen Jones did for Virginia,
03:08 what kind of conversations do you guys have on the sidelines to sort of
03:12 keep your head in the game and considering how serious it was?
03:17 >> Yeah, obviously, we're praying for him, and that was kind of scary.
03:20 And I think everyone in the stadium was quiet.
03:24 And for me personally, just kind of reflected on what's happening and
03:30 be able to kind of recenter ourselves and
03:31 then understand that we still got a game to play.
03:34 And conversations I had was, hey, we're down at that point.
03:39 Hey, we gotta find a way to win here.
03:41 We gotta reset, hit the reset button, and just do our job.
03:46 So I think, yeah, it's obviously a tough situation and
03:51 we're praying for him, hopefully he gets better.
03:54 >> I guess for both of you, what did change?
03:55 It seemed like there was a little bit of a flip switch or
03:58 just a little amount of change there in the fourth quarter.
04:01 What changed for you guys to be able to get those two scores?
04:04 >> I think just like Jack said, we've been in situations like that in the past.
04:12 So using those to our advantage and just never hanging our heads,
04:16 just knowing that there's opportunity.
04:19 And obviously we're able to take advantage of that.
04:24 >> Jack, do you wanna follow up?
04:28 >> Yeah, I think just, I'm kinda sounding like a broken record right now, but
04:33 just taking it one play at a time.
04:34 And obviously the play to Amari was huge, but
04:37 I think the plays before that leading up to it, just guys doing their job.
04:42 And us taking bits and pieces at a time on that drive,
04:45 we really get into a range where we can take a shot to the end zone.
04:50 But just stacking plays together.
04:54 >> This is for both of you guys.
04:56 Did you feel early on, did you kind of maybe feel that things were a little bit
05:00 off, like even with a 14-0 lead, it just didn't seem like things were clicking?
05:05 I think about the drive where there were the two holding penalties and
05:10 Jowar catches the ball, but he ran out of bounds.
05:13 And then the botched field goal attempt, it just seemed like things were all out of sync.
05:17 >> There's no doubt we weren't playing good, we weren't playing clean.
05:22 And yeah, we did feel out of sync.
05:26 And we understood that.
05:31 And we came into halftime and it was 14-0, and
05:34 really the offense only scored seven points.
05:36 We had a, I mean, the special teams scored seven points.
05:39 And we only scored seven points on offense.
05:40 And we knew that we had to regroup and do our jobs.
05:45 And yeah, and so we were able to find a way to do that in the fourth quarter, and
05:50 that's when it really counts.
05:52 >> Thank you.
