00:00 Welcome to Mojo Plays and today we're swinging off the beaten path to help out our friendly
00:05 neighborhoods of New York.
00:07 Mild spoilers ahead if you haven't helped New York's everyday citizens while swinging
00:12 through the city.
00:19 Spiderbots
00:26 After Genki contacts the Spider-Men about a weird signal piggybacking off their Spider-Man
00:31 signal, Peter and Miles begin to scour the city for these little robo-buddies and track
00:36 down its source.
00:37 Each Spiderbot is designed after not only one of the many Spider-Men from across the
00:42 multiverse, but also some other familiar faces as well.
00:46 They might be a bit harder to track down than Peter's backpacks in the 2018 game as they
00:51 don't appear on the map and are instead tracked down by their multicolored pulses.
00:57 But the reward for finding and snagging all 43 is worth the effort.
01:02 After collecting the final bot, Genki will trace the signal to a random alley where a
01:08 portal opens to a mysterious bartender who seems to know an awful lot about Spidey and
01:13 his counterparts.
01:15 This character was actually cut from the recent Across the Spider-Verse movie, further tying
01:21 all versions of Spidey together no matter the medium.
01:36 Cultural Museum
01:49 A large part of Miles' character has always been his connection to not only his neighborhood,
01:55 but also his heritage, and the side-quest Cultural Museum manages to give both those
02:00 elements their time to shine.
02:02 After Museum has their priceless instruments stolen just before their grand opening, Miles
02:08 attempts to track them down to save the museum from being shut down, and finds the simple
02:13 robbery goes much deeper than he expected.
02:16 After rescuing the instruments and bringing all the perpetrators to justice, Miles gets
02:21 to attend the grand opening night, and learn the history of not only the significance of
02:26 the instruments and their continued impact on music today, but also the musicians themselves.
02:32 The entire mission culminates in a touching moment between Miles and his mother Rio that
02:37 offers a very heartwarming end to what easily could have been a standard heist side-quest.
02:53 BV Club Fair
03:03 Balancing life and his responsibilities as Spider-Man, Miles is still in the early days
03:08 of figuring things out, and something as simple as attending a college fair becomes entangled
03:14 in Miles' balancing act.
03:16 After overhearing one of the school's teachers has gone missing, Miles is able to track her
03:21 down, right as Mr. Atlas, who oversees scholarships for the college Miles desperately wants to
03:26 attend, calls him to do an interview.
03:29 The mission itself is fairly standard, but the addition of watching Miles squirm as he
03:35 attempts to deal with not only the enemies in the area, but also Mr. Atlas' questions
03:40 really nails home how difficult it can be for the Spider-Man to find a perfect life-work
03:45 balance.
04:00 Uncle Aaron's Stashes
04:10 After the events of Spider-Man Miles Morales, Uncle Aaron has vowed to hang up the Prowler
04:15 suit for good so he can be there for his nephew and be the role model he needs to be.
04:20 However, being unable to reclaim his Prowler tech he has scattered around the city, he
04:25 asks Miles to make sure it doesn't fall into the wrong hands.
04:29 With each stash that Miles finds, Uncle Aaron breaks down its significance while also giving
04:35 Miles glimpses into Uncle Aaron and Jefferson's brotherly bond growing up as well as their
04:40 numerous close calls as Jefferson pursued the Prowler during his criminal career.
04:46 However, after finding the last Prowler stash, Miles believes his uncle might be returning
04:51 to his old ways and rushes back to his apartment complex only to find his mom Rio has followed
04:57 Miles' lead and helped give Aaron a second chance by co-signing the next door apartment.
05:03 Family runs deep after all.
05:10 Monster in Queens
05:11 Given the numerous types of villains Spidey has faced throughout the years, receiving
05:21 a call that there's a "monster" in a neighborhood isn't as strange as it might initially seem.
05:28 Taking up the request, Spidey finds an older blind woman complaining that some kind of
05:32 monster has been terrorizing her backyard and asks Spidey to investigate.
05:38 However, instead of finding a "monster," Spidey instead finds one of Kraven's robot
05:43 dogs malfunctioning.
05:45 Affectionately nicknamed Fido due to his coding, Spidey ends up defending the robotic pup from
05:51 Kraven's men attempting to reclaim their tech.
05:54 With Fido still on the fritz, Genki manages to reprogram Fido to be the best doggo he
06:00 can be by downloading an entire internet's worth of dog videos to his programming, making
06:06 him the perfect guide dog for an old blind woman with animal allergies.
06:18 Find Grandpa
06:28 Sometimes the quietest missions are the most important.
06:32 After receiving a request in the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man app, players will
06:36 find a distraught woman whose grandfather has wandered off.
06:41 While attempting to track the old man down, the woman laments how she's been lax in her
06:45 responsibilities to care for her ailing grandfather while also trying to maintain her own personal
06:51 life, something Spidey can relate to balancing his responsibilities as Spider-Man and his
06:57 own personal life struggles.
07:00 Genki eventually finds the old man sitting on a bench and sits with him until his granddaughter
07:05 arrives.
07:15 Listening to the old man recall his fondest memories of his life and his time with his
07:20 wife and how nervous he was to propose.
07:23 It's a small side quest, but also one of the most touching in the entire series.
07:39 Target Identified
07:47 One of the strangest missions the Spider-Man can pick up, but one with the most surprising
07:52 endings of all the side content in Spider-Man 2.
07:56 What initially begins as tailing missions in which Peter or Miles must race across the
08:01 city to download data on what they presume are more of Kraven's targets, the mystery
08:06 deepens further as they discover many of those on the list have been deceased for many years.
08:12 With the final piece of the puzzle in hand, Spidey traces the source to an apartment where
08:17 it seems the owner was expecting Kraven and had laid a trap for the famous hunter.
08:22 Spidey quickly figures out that this apartment belonged to the Chameleon, and not only that,
08:27 but that the Chameleon and Kraven are actually brothers.
08:31 It's a great twist to his standard side mission and continues to deepen the lore of Insomniac's
08:37 corner of the Spidey universe.
08:48 Sandman Shards
08:56 After the outstanding opening battle against a skyscraper-sized Sandman, the Spider-Men
09:01 were left wondering what led Marco to go off the deep end.
09:05 By tracking down numerous shard clusters scattered around the city, they would get their answer,
09:10 but Marco certainly isn't going to give up those memories willingly.
09:15 Inside each crystal is a memory shard, containing part of Marco's broken psyche as well as clues
09:21 to what led him to attack the city after being dormant for so long.
09:26 Somehow, Kraven and his hunters had tracked Marco down and captured him, but his only
09:31 concern throughout everything was that his daughter Kimia was safe.
09:36 As Spidey finds and releases more and more shards, Marco's condition stabilizes, and
09:41 he requests Spider-Man give his daughter the memory shards which when pieced together form
09:46 a statue of Marco and his daughter.
09:49 Even going clean is a struggle for many of Spidey's rogues' gallery.
09:57 The Flame
10:09 Yuri's turn during 2018's Spider-Man DLC left many fans wondering what became of Spidey's
10:15 former police force ally, and in Spider-Man 2, Yuri re-emerged as the anti-hero Wraith.
10:22 Continuing to dish out her own brand of justice, Yuri is tracking the Flame and his Doomsday
10:28 cult which looks to burn the city to the ground one building at a time and demands absolute
10:34 compliance from its members.
10:36 As Spidey and Wraith team up to stop the cult and their plans, the stakes are significantly
10:41 raised as their true agenda is revealed, and they were after a piece of the symbiote Oscorp
10:47 was transporting, and the pair of heroes inadvertently put it right into the hands of Cletus Kasady,
10:53 who promises it will bring truth, judgment, and carnage.
10:58 It's a fantastic twist that only die-hard fans could have seen coming, and will likely
11:03 play a major role in the inevitable Spider-Man 3 as Yuri vows to track Kasady down.
11:16 Howard
11:27 Players were first introduced to Howard and Pidgey in 2018's Spider-Man Adventure as
11:32 Spider-Man had to track down all of Howard's missing birds.
11:36 Howard returned in Spider-Man Miles Morales and asked the new Spidey to track down three
11:41 of his birds, who turned out to be being used to commit crimes.
11:46 Guess they were jailbirds.
11:48 In Spider-Man 2, fans receive a request from Howard to join him on the pier, and he talks
11:52 to Spider-Man about his life in New York and relives some of his most important memories
11:57 with the web-slinger before asking Spidey to find his pigeons a new home.
12:03 Spidey obliges and brings Howard's birds to a park near Aunt May's, before returning to
12:08 tell Howard his birds are safe and sound, only to find Howard had passed away from natural
12:14 causes and had spent his final moments with a friend and making sure his birds were safe.
12:20 We're not crying, you're crying.
