00:19 In a statement translated from Portuguese, Sao Luiz Hospital explained the tragedy to

00:24 Globo One, sharing in part, patient Luana Andrade was admitted, accompanied by her

00:29 family on Monday afternoon to the unit for a liposuction procedure carried out by a

00:35 private surgeon and anesthetist hired by the family.

00:38 After approximately two and a half hours of surgery, the patient presented with an

00:42 abrupt respiratory event and went into cardiac arrest, being immediately

00:46 resuscitated by the team.

00:47 The statement went on to detail the medical circumstances that led to the reality TV

00:51 star's death. The surgery was interrupted and the patient underwent tests that

00:56 revealed massive thrombosis.

00:58 She was transferred to the ICU, where she underwent medication and hemodynamic

01:02 treatment. Despite all the efforts of the hospital team, she progressed unfavorably

01:06 and died around 530 a.m.
