00:00 Our chief foreign editor Rob Parsons is joining me here on set.
00:02 Rob, watching that report, the pressure continuing to mount really on Israel
00:07 to at least tail back some of these attacks?
00:10 Yeah, I mean, the pressure has been building up on Israel for quite some time now.
00:13 And I think even, you know, in the very, very early days of the ground offensive,
00:18 there was an understanding in Israel that that was going to happen,
00:21 that there would be a moment that will arrive when the international pressure
00:26 will be so much that the Israeli government will have to pay attention to it.
00:30 I don't think we've reached that point yet.
00:32 Israel will press on with this regardless,
00:35 and with the consequences that we're seeing.
00:37 You mentioned the Al Shifa Hospital, which according to the WHO,
00:41 is no longer functioning as a hospital.
00:44 It says that some wards, the maternity ward, for instance,
00:47 the cardiovascular ward, have been hit in the fighting.
00:50 Israel denies that it's targeting the Al Shifa Hospital or any other hospital,
00:55 that on the contrary, it's doing all it can to make it possible for people to get out.
00:59 It's open routes, it says, to the south and to the north.
01:02 As you mentioned in your introduction, it's provided 300 litres of fuel for 15 jerry cans.
01:09 As Hamas has pointed out, that's enough to fuel the generators
01:15 at the Al Shifa Hospital for an hour at most, so it doesn't really provide much.
01:20 Israel says, actually, Hamas is preventing the fuel getting in.
01:23 Hamas denies that.
01:25 You know, there's so much obfuscation going on,
01:28 to try to discern what's really happening is very difficult.
01:31 But one reality remains, that the longer this conflict goes on at this intensity level,
01:38 the more people are going to die.
01:39 11,000 plus people have died already, thousands of children,
01:43 and we're going to get to a point where it becomes unsustainable.
