00:05 >> Yeah, so let's take a look at the MVP odds, and
00:07 then let's get to CJ Stroud, cuz that's who I'm alluding to here.
00:11 Now, obviously, Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts appear to be the front runners
00:14 right now to win the award.
00:16 I think if Mahomes just continues on, wins 80% of the games,
00:19 the rest of the way he's gonna win the MVP again.
00:22 Hurts is 3-1, 2 has fallen back at 5.5-1, Lamar Jackson 5.5-1.
00:26 That was a really tough loss for Joe Burrow, who is now 17-1.
00:30 And look at that, CJ Stroud at 20-1, Jacob.
00:34 So look, he's got the Rookie of the Year locked up over on FanDuel.
00:37 He's like minus 600, 500, whatever it is.
00:40 Is there any chance this guy could jump ahead of all of those names that I saw and
00:45 win the MVP?
00:45 >> I think it's at least possible.
00:48 We can't discount the possibility because Stroud is a very good quarterback,
00:53 as we've seen, and the Texans have skewed as a pass-heavy offense lately.
00:57 I know Devin Singletary has run well in recent weeks too, but
01:00 the way their defense is operated, they give up some points.
01:03 So Stroud needs to throw the ball more.
01:06 Now, if you look at his stats, I believe he has 15 touchdowns,
01:09 two interceptions.
01:10 If he continues to produce at that rate and can climb closer to 30 touchdowns,
01:15 all of a sudden gets the Texans into the playoff picture,
01:18 which they're currently the seventh seed in the AFC, that could change with a loss.
01:22 But if he gets them into the playoffs and he has numbers that are comparable to
01:26 someone like Mahomes or Hurts,
01:27 at least in terms of touchdowns compared to interceptions,
01:30 I think he'll draw some consideration.
01:32 Now, the one thing to remember is he is a rookie,
01:35 he will have some bumps in the road.
01:37 The good news for anyone who wants to back him as a potential candidate is that
01:41 the record of their, or the combined record of their opponents the rest of the way,
01:45 I believe is 32 and 40.
01:47 So it's not the most difficult schedule.
01:49 So if he can perform well, I think that there's at least a chance he'll be in
01:53 the conversation.
