00:29 or any other platform. We are
00:31 available wherever you get your
00:33 podcasts and the Aggies enter a
00:36 new era on Saturday. An era
00:40 without Jimbo Fisher. Of
00:42 course, the news breaking on
00:43 Sunday. If you've been living
00:45 under a rock that he has been
00:46 dismissed and will be paid
00:49 $77 million to just go away to
00:53 just go away. So, the Aggies
00:57 will be taking the field with
00:59 Robinson as their head coach.
01:00 The interim head coach as was
01:03 announced by Ross Bjork and he
01:06 indicated he chose Robinson
01:08 because he thought that the
01:09 players would rally around him.
01:11 He's been pretty popular since
01:12 he arrived there in College
01:13 Station alongside Jimbo as the
01:16 defensive line coach there in
01:18 2018 and he's done a remarkable
01:21 job. Of course, the Aggies
01:22 defense and especially the
01:25 front four really, you know, a
01:27 part of the success the Aggies
01:29 have seen since Jimbo arrived.
01:31 There's never been a question
01:32 about the defense. Never been,
01:34 well, the defensive line anyway.
01:37 So, you know, Robinson, the
01:41 clear choice for Ross Bjork to
01:42 take over at least on an
01:43 interim basis and he will coach
01:46 the remaining two games against
01:48 Abilene Christian and LSU. When
01:49 asked about the timing of
01:52 Jimbo's firing and the elevation
01:54 of Robinson, of course, Ross
01:56 Bjork indicated, well, it's a
01:57 lot easier to go and prep for
01:58 Abilene Christian than it is for
02:00 you to prep as a new coach
02:03 against Mississippi State or any
02:05 SEC opponent. That's certainly
02:06 true. So we understand that. We
02:08 get that and good luck to
02:10 Robinson and his, you know, in
02:12 his, I guess, whatever tenure
02:14 it's going to be as the coach of
02:16 the Aggies. But we will find out
02:19 on Saturday how different things
02:20 look, how much the same they
02:22 look, whatever the situation's
02:24 going to be, you know,
02:26 coordinators are still there for
02:27 the time being. And, you know,
02:30 as far as any word on who the
02:32 Aggies will replace Fisher with
02:33 on a permanent basis, I guess
02:36 just pick a name and it's
02:37 probably been mentioned, you
02:39 know, we've heard Urban Meyer.
02:42 We've heard Lane Kiffin,
02:45 Matt Brown, we've heard names
02:48 all over the place. Deion
02:49 Sanders, Dan Campbell, and of
02:52 course everyone dismissing any
02:55 rumors that they're interested
02:57 in the job, which is what
02:59 they're going to do. That's what
03:00 they're supposed to do. That's
03:02 what everyone is doing. So we
03:03 will see, of course, the season
03:05 looks like it will play out with
03:07 Robinson as the interim coach
03:08 and then the Aggies will make an
03:10 announcement, I guess, after the
03:11 season. I have a feeling maybe
03:13 they already have the guy. They
03:15 just obviously won't say it yet
03:17 because I don't think you fire
03:18 Jimbo without at that point of
03:20 the season, without already
03:21 knowing who you want, right? Or
03:23 who you maybe have already
03:24 discussed this with and maybe
03:26 maybe already even come to terms
03:28 with. So we will see. But first
03:32 and foremost are the Abilene
03:33 Christian Wildcats and boys and
03:35 girls, they're not good. They're
03:38 over there in that UAC, which
03:40 was a, I guess a combination of
03:43 was it the WAC and some other
03:46 conference that merged a couple
03:48 years ago. But they're just five
03:51 and five overall and three and
03:53 three in the United Athletic
03:56 Conference as they come to town.
03:58 They've they've won three of
04:02 their last five. But again, you
04:03 know, this is a lower tier
04:05 school, lower tier. You want to
04:07 say lower tier talent because,
04:08 you know, these kids are
04:09 talented too, but not on the
04:11 same level, we'll say, as what
04:13 the Aggies are throwing out on
04:14 the field. And this should be
04:15 one of the I don't care who's
04:17 coaching. I don't care if I'm
04:18 coaching them. This should be a
04:21 good win for the Aggies. And
04:22 right now, with the way things
04:24 are in College Station, they
04:26 need an easy win. They need a
04:27 good win in front of the home
04:28 crowd. But you don't want to
04:31 overlook ACU because LSU coming
04:34 into town the final weekend of
04:35 the season. So are you traveling
04:37 to LSU the final week of the
04:39 season? So, you know, and of
04:41 course, there's no betting lines
04:42 on this game. I don't know if
04:44 those will happen later.
04:45 Usually we have those by now,
04:46 but with a matchup like A&M and
04:49 Abilene Christian, you probably
04:50 don't get those. I know they
04:52 never do the money line on stuff
04:53 like that, but there's not going
04:54 to be a money line for the
04:55 Aggies to win because it would
04:56 be so ridiculous. But, yeah, no
04:59 spread, no total, no money line
05:00 this week. But go out there,
05:03 check it out. It's going to be
05:04 on the SEC Network Plus, ESPN
05:08 Plus. So streaming only for the
05:11 Aggies and Abilene Christian on
05:12 Saturday. We hope you have one
05:13 of those services. Or, of
05:14 course, you can check them out
05:15 on the Texas A&M Radio Network.
05:18 So, of course, the Aggies bowl
05:20 eligible with the coaching
05:23 change. We'll see what happens
05:24 the rest of the way. A&M has
05:26 still lost three of their last
05:28 five after starting the season
05:30 four and one. We all know about
05:31 the season by now, how it's gone
05:33 and Jimbo's gone. We don't need
05:35 to get too much into that. But,
05:37 of course, this is the final
05:38 game of the season for the
05:39 Wildcats, and they're going to
05:40 be looking for a strong win to
05:43 avoid going under 500 or ending
05:46 the season under 500. There's
05:48 always motivation for these
05:49 little schools, right? Of course
05:50 there is. These guys play
05:51 football, too. There's nothing
05:52 wrong with the product.
05:53 Sometimes they just come up
05:54 against some, you know, some
05:57 bigger guys, some bigger talent,
06:00 I guess we'll say. Definitely
06:01 bigger schools. So that's the
06:03 situation. Entering Abilene
06:07 Christian week here for the
06:10 Aggies. I guess we'll go beat
06:13 the hell out of the Wildcats,
06:15 right? For whatever that's
06:16 worth. I'm Indy Carton. We will
06:18 do it again probably either
06:20 Friday or Saturday leading into
06:22 the game with some quick hits,
06:24 maybe some injury updates.
06:25 Who's going to be under center
06:27 for the Aggies and how the
06:28 roster looks heading into that
06:30 game. So we'll talk to you then.
06:32 And until then, boys and girls,
06:34 we'll see you.
06:35 (upbeat music)
