00:31 - The motor car in the hands of the average man
00:34 is rapidly facing extinction.
00:36 Truly the average man is a creature
00:40 of strange and unorthodox habits.
00:43 Take the case of Mr. Walker.
00:46 Mr. Walker lives in a quiet, respectable neighborhood.
00:51 He is a typical average man,
00:53 considered a good citizen and of average intelligence.
01:00 He is a kindly man, courteous, punctual, and honest.
01:05 - Good morning, Mr. Walker.
01:06 - Good morning to you, Mr. Geef.
01:08 Lovely day.
01:10 - Mr. Walker wouldn't hurt a fly, nor step on an ant.
01:14 He believes in live and let live.
01:17 Mr. Walker owns a motor car
01:21 and considers himself a good driver.
01:24 (Mr. Walker coughing)
01:26 But once behind the wheel,
01:28 a strange phenomenon takes place.
01:32 Mr. Walker is charged with an overwhelming sense of power.
01:35 His whole personality changes.
01:37 Abruptly, he becomes an uncontrollable monster,
01:40 a demon driver.
01:42 Mr. Walker is now Mr. Wheeler, a motor.
01:46 - Hey, Geef, watch where you're going, stupid.
01:54 (engine rumbling)
01:57 (Mr. Walker grunting)
02:00 - Hey, do you think you own the whole road?
02:06 - Hm, of course I own the road.
02:09 My taxes pay for them.
02:11 I voted for road guards.
02:13 I paid for the roads, and I'll use them.
02:15 (engine revving)
02:20 (tires screeching)
02:23 - Get off my road, move over.
02:29 Let me pass.
02:30 (tires screeching)
02:41 Ah, shut up.
02:44 Let him wait.
02:47 It's a beautiful day out.
02:50 Fresh air.
02:51 Nice music.
02:54 (Mr. Walker humming)
02:57 - Hey, get over you, road hog.
03:08 (Mr. Walker grunting)
03:13 - Signals, oh, 30 seconds gone from your life.
03:18 - Gee whiz, oh, dear me.
03:20 You busted.
03:23 - Oh, want a race, do they?
03:28 Well, you ain't gonna get ahead of me.
03:31 (tires screeching)
03:35 (upbeat music)

04:07 The motorist pot of gold.
04:09 Not everyone has a spot to park in.
04:12 (Mr. Walker laughing)
04:15 (metal clanging)
04:18 (Mr. Walker screaming)
04:22 - Deprived of his protective armor,
04:24 Mr. Wheeler, motorist, becomes Mr. Walker, pedestrian.
04:28 Of a pedestrian crossing the street,
04:31 it has often been said,
04:33 fools step in where angels fear to tread, or
04:43 a friend in need is a friend indeed.
04:46 (upbeat music)

05:40 (Mr. Walker laughing)
05:45 - Safe, Mr. Walker gains the haven of his car,
05:48 with the knowledge of how the other fellow feels, except,
05:53 once behind the wheel, Mr. Walker reverts to form,
05:57 and again becomes Mr. Wheeler, motorist.

06:19 - Too bad, Mr. Wheeler, you've broken your toy,
06:22 but let this be a lesson, Mr. Wheeler, drive safely,
06:26 play fair, give the other fellow a break, and, ah, shut up.
