00:00 the thing about this team is that everybody's ready to step up and
00:03 everybody's ready to make that play.
00:05 >> How important is it to, I mean, obviously great to be the all time
00:09 elite scorer in the history, right?
00:12 So I'm not gonna ask if it's a goal, but how important is it to you?
00:17 >> I mean, honestly, I haven't really put too much thought into it.
00:22 I mean, some of our players keep coming up to me every now and
00:25 then and tell me how far I'm away.
00:27 I don't really pay attention to it too much.
00:29 I'm just kind of worried about doing my job and if I break it, I break it.
00:32 I'm not gonna be too disappointed if I don't,
00:35 I'm just trying to go out there and make every kick on the field.
00:38 >> By the way, you moved to third.
00:40 >> Okay.
00:41 >> The way the offense is running, do you think you might get it today for a while?
00:44 >> I don't even know.
00:45 I didn't even know how many I was away before the game, so
00:47 I didn't really even know.
00:48 But yeah, our offense played great today, so.
00:50 >> To come back after you, obviously, considered more of the draft and
00:54 have this year play out like this and have this final home game today,
00:57 what has this season meant to you?
01:00 >> It's been a lot of fun.
01:01 I'm super glad I came back for another season.
01:03 Been able to build even more bond with my teammates that'll last a lifetime.
01:09 I'm still kind of soaking it in that it is my last game here at Bryant-Denny.
01:13 But we still got a couple more games to play, so
01:15 we're not gonna get done on that yet.
01:17 >> I heard you tell Scott that you're not worried about getting the all-time NCAA
01:20 swimming record, but still, if you get it,
01:21 I mean, it's obviously a nice nugget to have if it happens, right?
01:25 >> Yes, sir.
01:25 It'll be good, but I mean, it's not just me that's put up many points.
01:29 There's a lot of other people that went into it, everybody that walks through.
01:33 I mean, I've had three different holders and
01:35 some four different holders since I've been here, a couple different snappers.
01:38 Our offense has always done a good job of putting me in a position to even be able
01:42 to hit field goals.
01:42 So it's not just a me kind of record, it's kind of a collective effort,
01:47 is everyone that's played here since I've been here.
01:49 >> Tell me a little bit about your college teammate.
01:52 Kind of tossing up stuff.
01:53 >> Yeah, he's a great kid.
01:55 Ever since he got here in the summer, we've been coming and
01:59 being able to gel a lot more.
02:00 We're really good friends.
02:01 It's actually his birthday today, so it's happy for
02:04 him to be able to get in the game and get some kickoffs.
02:05 But really good kid, bright future.
02:07 Hopefully he can continue to improve, just like my goal was when I was here,
02:12 continue to get better.
02:13 But there's a bright future for sure.
02:15 >> Sorry if you've already been asked about this, but
02:17 I think Alabama tweeted during the game that you now hold the record for
02:19 most 50-yard field goals in program history.
02:21 Just how special was it to have one of those in your last game at
02:23 Bryan Davis today?
02:25 >> I didn't even know that.
02:26 Yeah, that's awesome.
02:27 How many?
02:28 >> I think he said eight.
02:29 >> Eight? >> 50 or more.
02:30 >> Yeah, I mean, that's cool, something cool.
02:32 I mean, didn't know that, but yeah, it's cool to hear about.
02:36 But it was fun to get a little field goal attempt on the last game.
02:39 I was kind of worried I'd only have a little extra points.
02:41 >> [LAUGH] >> But obviously,
02:44 it's kind of tough being a kicker sometimes because you want your offense to have
02:47 a lot of success.
02:48 So you wanna win games and you wanna score touchdowns.
02:51 But then at the same time, you also might wanna get a field goal here and there.
02:54 But yeah, they did a really good job today.
02:56 >> So is there any talk with the offense, like maybe stall out here,
02:58 let me get a field goal attempt for my last game?
03:01 >> No, not really.
03:02 I don't wanna mess with their juju like that.
03:05 Let them put up as many touchdowns as they can and I'll be there if they can.
03:09 >> Well, when you think about what you've done on Bryan Davis,
03:11 your journey here, what do you think your dad would have thought?
03:14 >> Yeah, I mean, I think he'd be proud.
03:17 This wasn't somewhere that I really saw myself playing when he was still here.
03:21 So, but he would have loved it.
03:24 I'm sure he would have ate it all up.
03:26 Yeah.
03:27 >> Do you ever think back to those mornings working with him when you were here?
03:30 >> All the time.
03:30 We used to kick two a days on the weekends sometimes.
03:33 He was really my first kicking coach, to be honest.
03:36 I mean, I've had a lot of kicking coaches over the years, but
03:39 he's kind of the one that was always there training me on the weekends.
03:42 And always taking off work, taking me to practice every day.
03:44 So he's really my first coach.
