00:00 G'day, I'm Paul. Suzuki's infotainment system is a little bit dated, but in my opinion still very easy to use and one of the better
00:06 systems on the market in terms of functionality. Today
00:09 we're going to do a detailed review of it to see just how easy it is to use. If you haven't done so already, have a
00:15 look at the rest of the videos on our channel. We've got some great car reviews there and other infotainment reviews as well.
00:20 But let's get started.
00:22 It's a 7-inch screen that slots into this area here. The home screen is divided into four sections.
00:29 You have listen up the top, which is for radio. You have AM and FM bands.
00:33 There's no DAB+ digital radio in there, unfortunately.
00:36 You can then flick over to media where you'll find USB connectivity plus Bluetooth and the ability to stream from an SD card and an
00:43 auxiliary port. We jump back over to the home screen. You have inbuilt satellite navigation. This works fairly well.
00:48 It's not the best system in the world, but it's, you know, it does the job.
00:52 So let's have a test here. Put in our favorite destination,
00:56 points of interest search. We'll put in Melbourne Airport.
00:59 Okay, so already this is a little bit annoying because I have to put in an area for the point of interest search country,
01:05 Australia.
01:08 And then you put in the city, which is...
01:11 I don't even know where Melbourne Airport is.
01:14 So this immediately is kind of convoluted because if you don't know the place that you're trying to search,
01:20 you won't be able to find the point of interest, which is a little bit frustrating. So that's not great.
01:24 What about an address? I guess that's all pretty straightforward.
01:26 You just put in the country, city, postcode, blah blah blah, and then it goes.
01:29 So that is your inbuilt satellite navigation.
01:31 But you also have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which is built into the screen and wired.
01:38 So you have to use a cable. You don't have a wireless setup. This works fairly well.
01:42 It takes up the entire screen.
01:43 You can flick through those menus and you can also send voice commands to your phone
01:47 so that the voice recognition system is better. The car's inbuilt voice recognition system works
01:52 okay, but it's not amazing. So you're not able to give it full navigation commands.
01:56 You can give it basic instructions like calling contacts though. So let me disconnect CarPlay.
02:01 This is what the phone menu looks like.
02:03 You've got your previous call history, contacts and a dial pad as well. And then finally you have shortcuts.
02:08 So in the center you have your favorite items.
02:09 So you can click on any of those and then each of your pillars has a shortcut.
02:14 So if you want to go straight to destination entry, you can go there.
02:16 Or if you want to go to your sources, you can go to the shortcut in the listen menu.
02:20 So Suzuki's infotainment system. Yes, it's getting on in age,
02:23 but it's still pretty easy to use and the inbuilt smartphone mirroring makes it even easier to access modern technology.
02:29 If you did enjoy this video, I'd love it if you could hit the like button,
02:32 follow it up with a subscribe and check out some of the other videos on our channel.
02:36 But until next time, take it easy.
