00:02 >> Okay, so a complete turnaround in terms of results for
00:07 the Denver Broncos a month ago, Warren, it looked like they were charging
00:12 toward the number one or number two overall pick in the draft.
00:16 They've gone from that to 15 and 16 with all these wins.
00:20 And look, I suppose under Sean Payton,
00:22 you knew they were gonna fight at some point.
00:25 But is what we're watching here legit or is it fool's gold?
00:28 It's like I can't figure it out because the games that they're winning are so
00:31 close and they don't even look great in some of these wins too.
00:35 But in the end, the win loss record is all that matters, I guess.
00:37 >> Well, what they're basically doing is saying, Russ,
00:42 give us one good throw at the end of the game, right?
00:44 Because that's how they've won the Buffalo game with that late touchdown on
00:47 the sidelines.
00:48 That's how they won this game with the touchdown at the back of the end zone.
00:52 The DB should have made a play on the ball, let's be realistic.
00:55 That should have been broken up.
00:56 But at any rate, that is just some great plays.
00:58 But what they're doing, and I love seeing teams play to the strengths of their
01:03 players, cuz far too often coaches just wanna coach to what they like to coach,
01:06 as opposed to playing to the strength of their players.
01:09 They are understanding that we need to be playing this low variant style
01:12 of football.
01:13 Don't have Russ drop back a billion times to throw the football.
01:16 Let's try to play sound defense.
01:19 Let's try to rattle quarterbacks.
01:20 They're playing a unique style where they blitz a lot, yet they're playing
01:23 back in coverage too, and they're figuring out ways to prevent explosives and
01:27 things down the field over the top of them, while still getting pressure and
01:30 trying to confuse quarterbacks after the snap with some of the same pressures and
01:34 guys that they're dropping back out of coverage.
01:37 So I like a little bit of what they're doing there defensively, but
01:40 they're playing sound, better defense than they were playing.
01:43 Let's just put it that way.
01:44 And then in addition, we see it on the offensive side of the ball.
01:48 Just run the ball well.
01:50 Don't force the ball into coverage.
01:52 Try to play a lower variant style of football and
01:55 hope that the results go your way.
01:57 It's not really the recipe that's going to create,
01:59 let's pretend this wouldn't happen anyways, but
02:02 that would create like a Super Bowl run, right?
02:05 You're not gonna win games like hoping that you're gonna win continuously like
02:08 17 to 13 or 20 to 21, those types of scores.
02:13 But it's a way that's getting them some wins,
02:15 getting them to feel good about themselves while they try to figure out their
02:18 overall identity.
02:19 And I think for the rest of the season, this probably is it.
02:22 This is the ceiling that we're going to get.
02:23 They're gonna end up losing a couple of these games.
02:26 They're gonna be tight and they're gonna be low scoring.
02:27 And I've been having fun.
02:29 If they're the dog, tease them.
02:31 If somebody else is the dog, tease them.
02:32 And that's kind of the way I've been playing the Broncos for
02:34 the last few weeks.
