00:03 We're here at the 2024 Motor Trend
00:05 Truck of the Year competition,
00:06 and I'm here with the brand new Ford Super Duty.
00:09 Now this truck has got all kinds of new features,
00:12 brand new styling,
00:13 including this double C-clamp headlamp design.
00:16 Every sheet metal part is slightly revised.
00:18 It's got two new engines,
00:20 and you can now get pro power onboard
00:22 to keep the job site powered
00:24 or keep your fridge and lights running
00:25 if the power goes out.
00:26 There's also a new tremor edition,
00:29 which this is.
00:30 That's an off-road trim package
00:31 that you can add to every other trim level
00:33 from XLT up, Lariat, XLT, King Ranch, and Platinum.
00:38 In terms of engines,
00:39 the base engine has been replaced.
00:41 The old 6.2 liter Boss overhead cam V8
00:44 has been put out to pasture.
00:45 In its place is a 6.7 liter power stroke diesel.
00:48 That one makes 500 horsepower and 1,200 pounds of twist.
00:53 Now that's only 150 more foot pounds
00:56 than you would get in the base level power stroke,
00:59 but more importantly,
01:00 it's 125 more than rival Ram's turbo diesel makes.
01:04 The tremor,
01:05 the off-road package gets you an elevated front suspension,
01:09 a Dana limited slip differential in the front,
01:12 a 35 inch tires,
01:14 and a new trail mode
01:15 and rock crawl and trail turn assist modes.
01:19 We've got pro trailer hitch assist,
01:20 which automatically aligns the ball
01:22 with the trailer's hitch
01:23 when hooking up a conventional trailer.
01:24 And when reversing with the tailgate down,
01:27 as when lining up fifth wheel hitches,
01:29 new cameras and ultrasonic sensors
01:31 along the top of the tailgate
01:32 keep you aware of what's behind.
01:34 Onboard scales with smart hitch
01:35 help monitor tongue weight and the total load in the truck.
01:38 And trailer navigation plots safe routes
01:41 to avoid low clearance or tight corner routing.
01:44 And finally, as we mentioned,
01:45 available lane centering and blind spot warning
01:48 helps with long trailers
01:49 and helps ease the stress of highway towing.
01:52 Inside, everything is new as well.
01:54 All new dash, new door panels, new seats,
01:57 new layout for the center console,
02:01 bigger, brighter screens
02:02 with which to run all those pro trailer
02:05 assist systems and so forth.
02:07 They've definitely closed the gap
02:08 with the market leader Ram
02:10 in terms of making an interior fancy
02:13 and make it seem like it's worth up to $100,000,
02:16 which is easy to spend on these.
02:17 Are they there yet?
02:19 I don't think so quite,
02:20 but it is a big step forward.
02:22 And it's got nice, interesting materials,
02:25 this sort of brushed metal look on here.
02:28 Still got all the King Ranch brands and so forth,
02:31 but it's a classy look and it does close the gap with Ram.
02:35 In summary, the new Ford F-Series Super Duty
02:39 is prepared to give you more of everything truck lovers love.
02:42 More power, more torque, more towing, more payload,
02:46 more ease of towing too.
02:48 All of the features that they've got
02:49 to make it easier to connect
02:51 and keep towing trailers on the road.
02:54 All that is here.
02:55 And a lot of those are industry first items.
02:58 So kudos to Ford for bringing their A-game
03:01 to the Super Duty market.
