00:12 Man, I'm excited.
00:13 This is the first Chevy product we've had in a long time.
00:16 We are up here at Courtesy Chevrolet,
00:18 located at 1233 East Camelback, just west of the 51,
00:23 if you're coming up here to check it out.
00:24 Joined here by Luis Becerra, the general sales manager
00:28 up here at Courtesy Chevrolet,
00:29 and Luis, man, I'll tell you, I am excited
00:32 for some of these new 24s to be hitting the road.
00:34 - You know, one of the great part about Chevrolet
00:36 is just all their innovation that they've been doing
00:38 with Chevrolet and General Motors,
00:41 just making the cars more fuel efficient, more comfortable,
00:44 and more than anything, safer.
00:45 - That's right, and don't forget,
00:48 Courtesy Chevrolet is probably the only dealer in town
00:51 older than me at 68 years old now, right?
00:53 They started in '55?
00:55 - So we're one of the original dealerships
00:57 here on Camelback.
00:58 They've been here since 1955,
01:00 so they have that Vegas-style blue arrow sign
01:02 that was developed on a cocktail napkin
01:04 by the owner's wife, and it is such a cool part
01:08 to be part of legacy and customer service
01:11 and just treating our employees well.
01:12 We have 350 employees here, so.
01:14 - Wow, well, they're obviously doing something right.
01:16 So let's check out this 24 Chevy Equinox right here
01:21 that is powered by a 1.5 liter,
01:24 four-cylinder turbocharged motor,
01:27 making around 200 horsepower.
01:29 Frankly, this thing gets up in rocks.
01:31 It's really surprising how well it works.
01:33 If you look here, really straightforward front end on here,
01:37 everything you need and nothing you don't, right,
01:39 when it comes to it there.
01:40 So when you're coming down the road,
01:42 you're gonna be lit up by LED lights,
01:44 front and rear, I might say, on this.
01:46 And then, like I said, underneath here,
01:48 you got an inline four-cylinder
01:50 driving a six-speed transmission behind it.
01:53 And if we walk around here to the side,
01:55 one of the things that we see here
01:57 is 17-inch alloy wheels right here.
02:00 And if you look inside, 16-inch brakes.
02:03 Those are almost like truck brakes, you know, Luis.
02:05 I mean, really, that's good from a safety standpoint.
02:08 And then if you move up here to the side mirror,
02:10 you do have your blind spot control,
02:12 again, thinking about safety for sure.
02:14 Now, Luis, this has the premium cloth seats inside
02:18 as well as that seven-inch monitor in the front.
02:22 What does Chevy really like in here?
02:24 What are they looking for for the people?
02:26 - So making sure that everything on the infotainment system
02:29 on the center of the console is really easy to use.
02:32 It's got that really nice touchscreen.
02:34 You have all the controls on the steering wheel,
02:35 which give you all those additional safety features.
02:38 But what I really like about the Equinox
02:40 is that you get a power seat.
02:41 You know, it may be something silly,
02:42 but you have a 12-way power seat with lumbar support,
02:46 and it just makes it super easy
02:47 to just get comfortable into the car itself
02:49 and have a real good driving machine.
02:51 It's super simple to use,
02:52 especially with a lot of the controls
02:54 on the steering wheel itself,
02:56 which is gonna give you your lane departure,
02:58 your cruise control.
02:59 It's gonna go through all of your safety screens.
03:01 And it's also a tilt wheel up and down
03:03 and forward and back,
03:04 so it's an adjustable wheel to just make it,
03:06 again, super comfortable, super safe,
03:08 and super easy to use.
03:09 - Yes, in fact, that tilt telescopic wheel
03:12 actually contributes to the comfort I was feeling
03:14 because a little bit longer legs,
03:16 so I let the seat back a little bit further,
03:18 the wheel comes in to meet me.
03:20 I like that.
03:20 Now, I also noticed USB, USB-C,
03:24 and a 12-volt power point along with auxiliary in there.
03:28 - Correct, and that's also in the rear, too.
03:29 - Oh, right, okay. - Yeah, which is pretty great.
03:30 - So in the back, too.
03:32 So General Motors didn't forget
03:34 about the people in the back.
03:35 Chevy, for sure, is definitely,
03:39 I grew up a Chevy guy.
03:40 I mean, it was in Wisconsin,
03:41 not too far from Janesville factory.
03:44 Probably this might even been built in Janesville.
03:46 You never know.
03:47 Now, one of the things that we like to talk about, too,
03:49 is the mileage on this.
03:51 Actually getting about 28 miles to the gallon with this.
03:53 - So you get 28 miles to the gallon,
03:55 31 on the highway, believe it or not,
03:57 when you're at maximum fuel efficiency.
03:59 So they have the new EcoTec engines in them.
04:01 - Yes, yes. - Make 'em super efficient
04:02 and super low maintenance on them as well.
04:05 Equinox has the reputation of being able
04:07 to go almost 200,000 miles.
04:09 - Wow, well, I was impressed with the fact
04:11 that I went over 400 on a tank of fuel.
04:13 - Right, yeah, no, it's pretty great.
04:14 - Yeah, yeah, that's good.
04:15 Let's take a quick look here in the back
04:17 because one of the things that we like about this,
04:19 now, this is the little brother to the Traverse
04:22 that has the third row,
04:23 but plenty of room in the back here
04:25 when you're looking at it for storage.
04:27 We got all kinds of room back here.
04:29 And then you have, it looks like about a 70/30 split.
04:33 If you want, you can go ahead and put the seat down
04:35 and get a little bit more extra in there, too.
04:38 Well, that's gonna do it for the storage room for sure.
04:40 But MSRP on this is $29,700 a wease.
