00:00 President Bongbong Marcos has hastened the distribution of aid to those who were affected by the bad weather in Eastern Visayas.
00:09 He also visited some places that were flooded in Mindanao.
00:12 And that is what Ivan Mayrina is talking about.
00:15 Personally, the President would like to visit the Katarman Northern Samar that was affected by the floods in the past few days due to the effect of the shear line.
00:26 But due to the bad weather that he is still experiencing there, he rushed to ride his airplane and just flew to Calapit and Tacloban, Leyte.
00:33 From there, he was given a briefing on the situation of the Samar provinces through an online video call.
00:39 The President hastened the distribution of aid to those who were affected and assured that there are sufficient food packs and water for those who were evacuated to evacuation centers or homes of their relatives.
00:49 To quickly distribute aid, the President also asked the public works secretary who was with him in the briefing to quickly complain about the damaged roads.
00:58 He also said that financial aid from the DSWD will be needed to help those who were affected by the floods.
01:04 From Tacloban, the President also visited General Santos City to see the situation, followed by a magnitude 6.8 earthquake that hit Mindanao on Friday.
01:13 The government is ready to help recover the victims of the floods, but that's not as easy as it seems.
01:19 We cannot start rebuilding yet because there is an aftershock. The problem with the flood is that there is no forecast. We don't know what will happen.
01:28 All the assistance that the people who were affected need, those who lost their homes, fishermen, and those who were injured, all of them were given by the DSWD.
01:45 More than P10,000 were given to more than 200 families from the cities of Malapatan, Glan, and Jansan, aside from the food packs.
01:53 Each of the 2,000 tricycle drivers received P2,000 in cash aid.
01:59 For GMA Integrated News, Ivan Meirina, Katutok, 24 Hours.
