00:00 I gave you instructions in the dressing room.
00:02 Stop breakboxing. Say "break" stuff that time.
00:04 Okay? Good luck. Any questions?
00:05 Good luck. Good luck.
00:07 - I like that, guys.
00:10 That was good luck in two or three languages, Paulie?
00:13 - Uh, you--Talaveras will do it alone.
00:15 Make a tighter fist.
00:17 His--Jandre's hand was kind of flopping
00:18 when they touched glass.
00:20 So it was kind of like mind games.
00:21 It wasn't really that nice.
00:22 - Let's see if he, uh, wants him
00:24 to make a tighter fist now.
00:25 Here we go!
00:26 It's time to fight.
00:27 Yes, sir, Talavera in the blue and white trunks.
00:32 And a quick combination thrown.
00:36 Red trunks, actually, for Talavera.
00:39 And the blue trunks for Mandip Jandra.
00:43 - This is--this is a big step up for Mandip.
00:45 I mean, he's only got four fights.
00:46 This is his fifth.
00:47 He's fighting a man with 31 professional fights.
00:49 And even though he's 500, Talavera can fight.
00:51 We saw him on our air two weeks ago.
00:53 He's a--he's a tough customer.
00:55 - Yeah, he's not an easy out.
00:56 He's gonna make you work for it, if anything.
00:58 You know, I mean, he doesn't mind losing.
01:00 He doesn't mind fighting tough, though.
01:01 And he's used to beating with good opponents.
01:03 So he's not gonna be impressed
01:05 with the undefeated record of Mandip.
01:06 Nice little grazing overhand right there by Talavera.
01:10 He's working.
01:11 - Yeah, Talavera's doing a good job
01:12 hitting both sides of the body.
01:13 He did that earlier in the round as well.
01:14 That overhand right is a shot that he's looking for
01:16 because Mandip keeps circling out to his left side.
01:20 - Mandip got a jab going, but he's gonna have to
01:22 use some counterpunching in there as well
01:24 to start to discourage the enthusiasm of Talavera.
01:26 [crowd shouting]
01:29 [crowd cheering]
01:31 - We saw Talavera against a very talented Jorge Solis,
01:35 and Solis is a fantastic fighter,
01:37 very offensive guy,
01:38 landing a lot of good body shots, head shots.
01:40 And Talavera was never on the way out.
01:42 He was a very, very durable guy.
01:44 - And, Paulie and Chris, Julio Solis,
01:47 and we commented on it two weeks ago,
01:49 he looked as good as he has ever looked
01:52 in his professional career.
01:54 - Yeah, absolutely.
01:55 He really impressed me
01:57 in that last fight against Talavera.
01:59 [crowd shouting]
02:02 - That was a beautiful shot.
02:09 Nice looping bolo uppercut.
02:12 - Box!
02:13 - This one's scheduled for six rounds
02:18 in the lightweight division.
02:19 Both men have performed here on Pro Box TV before.
02:25 Talavera two weeks ago,
02:28 and it's been about a year and a half
02:30 since we saw Mandeep Jengra.
02:33 [crowd shouting]
02:35 Born in India, now living in Florida.
02:38 [whistle blows]
02:39 [crowd shouting]
02:42 - Stop! Stop! Stop!
02:44 [crowd shouting]
02:48 - Superman, the Hall of Famer, Roy Jones Jr.,
02:53 in the corner of Mandeep Jengra.
02:56 - Jengra's trying to get a little bit of a Roy imitation
02:59 on his toes, but he's got to--
03:00 again, he's got to use some of the counterpunching.
03:01 He's landed some decent shots here,
03:03 but he's got to start to discourage
03:04 the forward momentum of Talavera.
03:08 Little pot shots like that will help, though.
03:10 - Talavera started boxing at age 7
03:13 in his home country of Nicaragua
03:16 at the late Alex Arguello's gym.
03:19 [crowd shouting]
03:23 [bell dings]
03:24 - Round one in the books.
03:26 [crowd shouting]
03:29 [whistle blows]
03:32 - In the corner of Jengra, there's Superman.
03:35 [whistle blows]
03:36 [crowd shouting]
03:39 [crowd chanting]
03:42
03:49
03:54
03:59
04:04 - The corner of Nicaragua's golden boy,
04:07 Yesenor Talavera,
04:09 he told us in the fighter meetings yesterday, Chris,
04:12 this fight tonight is crucial.
04:16 He has had a number of consecutive setbacks.
04:20 Now, he did talk about many of the fights
04:22 he lost on points in Europe
04:24 may not have actually gone against him.
04:27 Nonetheless, the record is the record,
04:29 and he knows he needs a win tonight.
04:31 - Yeah, I mean, you can kind of see that
04:32 in his body language out here.
04:33 He looks like he knows he can win this fight.
04:35 He came out in the first round as if he was the A-side,
04:37 and that's what you want to see.
04:38 At least the mentality is there that he's here
04:40 to win this fight.
04:43 - He admitted he was not ready two weeks ago
04:46 when he faced off against Julio Solis.
04:50 Had a big gap between fights in November of 2019
04:56 and March of 2023,
04:59 so thus he was just getting back into things.
05:02 Two weeks later, like you said,
05:03 he's got a little bounce in his step
05:05 that maybe we did not see
05:08 back in our world headquarters.
05:09 - I actually noticed that right away, Goldie.
05:10 He looks leaner than he did a couple weeks ago,
05:12 so he looks like he bounced right back into the gym
05:14 from that last fight,
05:15 and he's here looking to make a statement.
05:17 - Hey, guys, don't think of Jangiro.
05:18 He's having a good round so far.
05:19 - Yes, he is. - He's on the outside.
05:20 - He's boxing very well.
05:21 - He's controlling range.
05:22 He's in and out,
05:23 and he's got Talaveta lunging in, missing,
05:26 and you see it even with the counters
05:28 when he occupies the space.
05:30 - Also, Jangiro chose not to sit in between fights,
05:32 chose not to sit in between rounds.
05:34 - Yeah. - Standing throughout.
05:36 - Jangiro has scored finishes in his last three fights,
05:41 4-0,
05:43 and the three finishes I mentioned
05:46 came in the second round, the third round,
05:49 and back in August of '21,
05:51 round number two, swing and a miss.
05:53 - There's a cut on Talaveta's eye, too,
05:55 and now he's getting caught on both sides.
05:59 Jangiro got some rhythm going.
06:01 - Yeah, he's throwing some shots
06:03 that are really hard to see,
06:04 looping shots with actually a good amount of power.
06:06 - Watch out. Watch out.
06:07 He's been training with Roy, I think.
06:09 - It shows.
06:12 - Scheduled for six rounds,
06:15 Jangiro represented India's national team,
06:19 actually fought at 165 as an amateur.
06:24 - Wow.
06:26 - 30 pounds of-- - He even admitted that.
06:27 - He even admitted that in the fighter meetings.
06:31 - And you can see that cut on the--
06:33 - That spot.
06:34 - On the head of Talaveta.
06:35 He's really starting to bleed a lot.
06:38 - Jangiro's been landing a really tricky uppercut
06:40 on the inside. There is a game.
06:44 - They are training at center ring here in round two.
06:48 - And he's a tall, long guy for the weight class.
06:49 He generates a lot of power and momentum
06:51 when he swings those looping shots like that.
06:53 - Watch out. Watch out.
06:55 - It's been a tough time for Talavera.
06:57 A really tough time with those looping shots.
07:00 - Well, the one thing we do know about Mandeep Jangira,
07:03 he's got a motor, and he likes to fight
07:05 at this fast, aggressive pace.
07:08 - Yeah, this has been a really good round for him.
07:09 - Well, the thing is, Talavera was the one
07:11 that tried to come and make it an aggressive fight,
07:13 and all of a sudden, he's kind of out of his--
07:15 Oh, nice little uppercut there by Jangiro.
07:18 It's been Talavera who's been kind of confused since.
07:20 - Great pressure here late in the round.
07:23 - Yeah, and he's got a lot of shots in between there, Jangiro,
07:25 but overall, Jangiro's a nice combination
07:27 and a nice round.
07:29 - The Superman Roy Jones very happy in between rounds
07:35 to see his man doing work.
07:37 - Talavera, a true veteran,
07:46 came into tonight with 183 professional rounds.
07:52 - Yeah, and he's not gonna fight in two weeks.
07:54 - Oh, with that cut, he's not gonna fight in two weeks.
07:56 - Yeah. - Yep.
07:58 - Talavera fought for the IBF Intercontinental.
08:05 Phantomweight belt, was a Pan-American champion
08:08 as a teenager.
08:10 In the other corner, Superman Pauly is styling tonight.
08:14 - Yeah, yeah.
08:16 - I was gonna say, usually Roy's low-key,
08:20 he's got a lot of career in.
08:22 Maybe he did have a little flash and dash,
08:24 just a bit, right?
08:26 - He's throwing it back a little bit tonight.
08:27 He's looking sharp and got some eyes on him tonight.
08:31 - And, Chris, you just noticed a little scuff
08:33 underneath the eye of Mandeep Jangiro as well, right?
08:36 A little cut. - Underneath his right eye,
08:37 he's got a little abrasion.
08:38 I don't think it looks too serious.
08:40 - That upjabs, by working, man,
08:42 I mean, Talavera does not see it coming.
08:44 - He throws shots from tricky angles,
08:46 and it's been very effective, especially in that last round.
08:48 - Yeah, he's a tricky guy.
08:51 He's a character.
08:53 - And no lack of confidence.
08:55 - And a right hand that just landed again.
08:57 Body, body. - Oh, oh, ooh.
08:58 - Quick flurry by Mandeep Jangiro.
09:01 - And Talavera came back with a nice left hook upstairs
09:03 that got Jangiro moving around.
09:05 - Wonder if he's holding a tight enough fist now, Pauly.
09:09 - Yeah, I think that was--
09:11 if anything, that one pissed Talavera off.
09:12 - Yep. - Now he's ready to go.
09:14 He's like, "Where you going?"
09:15 "I was just getting started."
09:16 - Yeah, he's ready to go.
09:18 [crowd shouting]
09:21 - Jantil's got to be careful, 'cause the referee,
09:23 Jantil's got to be careful,
09:24 because Jangiro moves around so much,
09:26 sometimes he's almost running into him.
09:28 - 30-year-old against 28-year-old Jangiro from India,
09:34 and as we mentioned, Yesner Talavera
09:37 from Managua, Nicaragua.
09:39 - Jangiro's looking at Roy Jones
09:40 while he's throwing that upjab.
09:42 He's not even looking at Talavera.
09:43 - Stop, stop, stop!
09:45 - Stop, just a minute.
09:46 - He's doing his Uttar Aranozian,
09:49 but Roy's actually in his corner,
09:50 not with us this time.
09:52 - Jantil, I think, might have given the last warning
09:55 to Jangiro about leaning on the head.
09:56 Let's see if that continues.
09:58 What happens? There's still half of the fight to go here,
10:00 only around 3 of 6.
10:03 - Ooh, good counter.
10:04 - And a counter from Talavera immediately.
10:08 - Mike Goldberg with my powerful partners,
10:10 the Magic Man, Pauly Malignaggi,
10:12 former two-time world champion,
10:14 former world champion Chris Algieri.
10:17 Great to be here on a Wednesday night
10:20 from the Kissimmee Civic Center in Central Florida.
10:24 One minute on the clock here in round 3.
10:26 - Jangiro's got those little pot shots working for him.
10:28 He's in a little bit of a rhythm here.
10:30 It's not for lack of trying on Talavera, that's for sure.
10:37 Again, he's a hard-nosed veteran,
10:39 but he--he just wants to fight, though.
10:41 He's not used to having to track you down like this.
10:43 - Cutting out streaming.
10:45 Nice body shot by Jangiro.
10:48 - Jangiro has those nice chopping right hand on the inside
10:51 that Talavera has really no counter for.
10:54 There it is right there again.
10:55 - And Chris, he likes to stay right in the pocket
10:57 and use that upper body movement.
10:59 - I'm--I'm impressed.
11:01 - Stop! Stop! Stop! Stop!
11:03 - Get a little dusty in there.
11:05 - And the officials on that side of the ring
11:08 all had their hands up.
11:10 Kind of like Pauly does when the blood starts flying.
11:12 - Yeah, yeah.
11:14 Pauly brings out his tarp. - Yes, he does.
11:16 - We got it right here on the table.
11:17 - Like Sunday dinner for Pauly.
11:19 Great way to get our night started.
11:23 [bell dings]
11:24 - Hey!
11:25 - A little respect of touching gloves.
11:28 They're getting on each other's nerves,
11:29 but there's some respect that's been earned on both sides.
11:32 - Here we go, see those looping shots from Jangiro.
11:39 And he generates a lot of power.
11:41 He gets that momentum going.
11:42 He's tall, he's long for the weight class.
11:44 He pinned Telivera on the ropes,
11:45 and then Telivera came back on a left hook.
11:47 And, like, as you said, champ, he wanted to keep going.
11:50 He's, "Where you going? Let's keep trading."
11:52 But really, it wasn't much of a trade.
11:53 Mandeep was getting the better of that throughout.
11:55 - Yeah, and when you're throwing a combination like that,
11:57 you've also got to understand when it's time to exit
11:59 the pocket and enter the pocket, you know?
12:01 You got to time it well, and Mandeep realized,
12:03 "Okay, it's time to step out now."
12:05 - And every time you get to work that body,
12:07 bang that body home.
12:08 - The difference between a heavy bag
12:09 and hanging a human being,
12:10 the human being will eventually hit you back.
12:12 - A punch back.
12:13 [whistle blows]
12:14 - Second round!
12:16 - [speaking Spanish]
12:18 - [speaking Spanish]
12:20 [crowd cheering]
12:22 - First of four fights on our card tonight.
12:25 Round number four, Mandeep Jhangra.
12:29 4-0-3 finishes in the blue trunks,
12:33 red trunks for the golden boy from Nicaragua,
12:37 Yesner Telivera.
12:39 [crowd shouting]
12:42 - You see how Jhangra, sometimes he dips to that left,
12:49 like he's gonna throw a left hook to the body,
12:51 but instead he throws a right hand.
12:52 It's so weird.
12:54 But he throws everybody off.
12:56 And that push behind the head, he's got to be careful.
12:58 He just did it again.
12:59 Ritchiel's letting him slide there.
13:01 And he's giving him a bunch of warnings already.
13:04 [crowd shouting]
13:07 - He likes that check hook too, that counter check hook
13:10 when Telivera reaches in.
13:12 - He likes taking a moment, Chris, once in a while
13:14 to check out his work too.
13:15 - Yeah, no, he's--like I said, no lack of confidence
13:17 from Jhangra.
13:19 - We used to call that taking pictures.
13:21 - Yeah.
13:22 - You pose for a picture after you land.
13:24 - Jhangra is actually on the attack this round.
13:26 He's leading.
13:27 He's not countering him all the time.
13:29 Landing some great combinations here
13:30 as Telivera's pinned on the ropes.
13:32 - And I can see Roy from here,
13:33 he's got a huge smile on his face
13:36 after that last combination.
13:39 - Definitely likes what he sees.
13:40 - Yes, indeed.
13:42 - [laughs] Telivera's getting frustrated,
13:44 but the problem is Telivera's not winning, so he's--
13:46 - No, no, no.
13:47 - So he's trying to--he's trying to showboat back.
13:48 I see some of the blood on the face of Mandeep
13:51 as that scuff is starting to leak a little bit.
13:53 Now, Chan.
13:54 - Yeah, it looks like it's like--
13:55 it's like a couple little cuts.
13:57 - It's--but unlike-- - A little abrasion.
13:59 - Unlike Telivera's cut, though, it's not in a bad spot.
14:01 - No, no, under the eye generally is not an issue,
14:04 especially, like, on the cheekbone like that.
14:06 - I remember the first time
14:10 we had the opportunity to visit with Mandeep.
14:13 He said, "I have been signed up by the great Roy Jones Jr.,
14:18 and this is huge for me."
14:21 And it continues to be.
14:22 - Nasty clash of heads in the middle of all that.
14:24 - Yeah.
14:25 - Look.
14:26 - Well, that's where these cuts are coming from, right?
14:27 I mean, it could be clashes of heads too.
14:31 - And the fighter meeting yesterday,
14:33 Paulie Ricardo-Selis from our Spanish side
14:37 was talking about how Zhengra, being from India,
14:41 got into boxing in a cricket-loving nation.
14:45 He said, "I was just a stubborn boy.
14:47 My family never paid for my sports,
14:49 but I decided that my sport was gonna be boxing,"
14:52 and he's pretty good at it.
14:53 - You got to give Gary Jones a story for this guy.
14:55 He just popped up in Plain City all the way from New York.
14:58 - He just popped up in Plain City all the way from India.
15:00 - Even better.
15:02 And there are no--
15:03 there's not a lot of cricket in Plain City.
15:05 - No, no.
15:07 - And I still watch it when I go overseas.
15:10 Chris and I still don't understand one thing about it.
15:13 But I watch it for hours.
15:14 - You and me both, partner.
15:17 - Yeah, I don't understand how to score either.
15:19 I love how dirty and aggravated these guys get
15:21 with each other during the round,
15:22 'cause at the end of the round, they touch gloves.
15:24 Let's see if they do it now.
15:25 Oh, now they're all--
15:26 - No, no, no, they're barking and biting each other.
15:31 - Entertaining matchup to get things started here tonight.
15:36 - Talibar is game, man.
15:37 He always shows up to fight, that's for sure.
15:41 - Even a guy with a 500 record, he comes in here to win.
15:43 - Yeah, I mean, he's been in with good enough fighters
15:45 where he can compare, "Hey, listen, this guy
15:47 "might be better than that guy."
15:48 This guy's, you know, he may know what he wants
15:50 to fight against, you know?
15:51 This is all of that earlier in the round
15:52 when Django started getting the hands moving again
15:54 in that combination.
15:55 They talk about those loopy body shots,
15:56 they generate energy, but then he switches it up
15:58 to straight shots down the middle,
15:59 and that also will throw you off, 'cause, you know,
16:01 you're trying to guard from around the side,
16:03 and all of a sudden, the shots come shooting
16:05 down the middle, and he's got some pretty good speed
16:07 with them and good snap.
16:08 - Yeah, one thing about Talibar we saw in that Sunday's fight,
16:11 he took some body shots all night long last fight
16:14 and walked right through them.
16:15 He's definitely got a hardened body, this guy.
16:18 He's a very durable, very tough journeyman.
16:21 - Yeah, one thing he wants to do, though,
16:22 he wants you to stand still so you can fight.
16:23 He doesn't mind fighting.
16:24 He just hates to chase you.
16:26 And that's the thing about Django.
16:27 Django will land the shots and then not be there
16:29 for the return a lot of times.
16:31 And then when he is there for the return,
16:32 you know, he's holding a lot.
16:34 - Round number 5, and much to your point, Chris,
16:37 and, Paulie, Talibara has 15 losses,
16:41 but he has only been stopped twice
16:44 in those 15 setbacks.
16:47 And now he's the one showing a little spring in his step,
16:51 looking to mix things up here.
16:53 Round number 5, this one's scheduled for 6.
16:57 - Oh. - A lot of ego in these guys.
17:03 - We're gonna have to ring out the top.
17:05 That one got on something on me.
17:07 - You know what? That is 100% my fault, Paulie,
17:10 because I talked about it earlier
17:12 and I jinxed your partner.
17:13 - They're right behind him.
17:15 - Like you said, Chantel, if he wants to fight,
17:17 he wants you to come to him.
17:19 He's having trouble finding Djangra.
17:22 - Yeah, that's the thing, Champ.
17:23 He uses that jab on the outside too,
17:25 and a lot of times that's a preventive measure
17:28 to keep the other opponents from closing that gap, you know,
17:31 and he uses it in that way where he uses it with the footwork.
17:33 - Ooh, good lead uppercut there from Talibara.
17:37 - Djangra with an extensive amateur background.
17:40 - He keeps throwing this jack-o'-lantern.
17:42 - And a jab. - But he's gotta be careful
17:44 because he pulls back straight and squared.
17:46 Oh, nice combination there.
17:48 - One thing about the way Djangra pulls back there,
17:51 he pulls back square. He's gotta be careful.
17:53 He should angle out a little bit,
17:54 blade off his shoulder and pull that way.
17:56 Let's see what's going on here.
17:58 Oh, what a untied shoe.
18:00 - No instructions. It's a tied shoe.
18:02 - Competed in the Asian, Southeast Asian,
18:05 and European games
18:08 as they relace Talibara's shoes,
18:12 and you see Djangra with a lot of confidence
18:15 waiting to continue this matchup.
18:17 - That's my problem right now because, you know what?
18:19 The laces are taped.
18:21 - Let me get taped. - And now...
18:23 - Come on, let's go. There's no way this is just broken.
18:26 - People saw the footage. - I know. Put it in there.
18:28 Put it in there. - People didn't answer.
18:30 - Tuck him in. Tuck him in. Let's go.
18:32 - It's gonna be a problem.
18:34 You gotta be careful he doesn't twist an ankle or something.
18:36 - They're gonna have to deal with that during the break.
18:38 - Yeah. - Time in. Box.
18:41 - I mean, I'm the hockey player,
18:43 so I can help out with, you know,
18:45 the weights and tape boxing shoes.
18:47 - Well, you might have to jump out of the announcer booth.
18:49 - Well, Chris, the corner's right there for me,
18:51 so I'm good. - Yeah, you're good.
18:53 You got long arms. You can reach.
18:55 What do you got, 73, 74-inch reach?
18:57 - 73, 74, 79, 84 1/2, John Jones, you know.
19:00 - Yeah, whatever. - Whatever it takes.
19:02 - That's a first for you. - Michael Keaton, 220, 221,
19:04 whatever it takes. - I've never seen that before,
19:06 the taped shoelaces that come untied.
19:08 That's... I'll tell you, that'll complicate your life
19:10 trying to tie those back if the tape gets in the way, you know?
19:13 - Yeah, that's what the problem was there.
19:16 - D'Alibara trying to go to the body now.
19:18 - But you see, D'Alibara also comes in with his head there too,
19:20 you know, and that also helps.
19:22 It doesn't help with the clash of heads.
19:24 - Ooh, good body shot. - Good body shot.
19:26 - That one had an effect on him. - Right hand to follow.
19:28 - That one hurt him. 30 seconds.
19:30 - Right to the pit of his stomach. That was a great shot.
19:32 And their heads are coming together
19:34 quite a bit on the inside there.
19:36 - Watch the shoulder. - That was a vicious body shot.
19:38 - For bullying him. - Landed by jumper.
19:40 - Next time's the boy. - D'Alibara had to do
19:42 whatever he could to get a break, though.
19:44 He had to recover from that body shot.
19:46 He's probably still recovering from it.
19:48 - Whoo! - Still recovering from it.
19:50 He hasn't thrown a punch yet. - Yep, yep.
19:52 - Oh! - Another great combination
19:54 to end the round.
19:56 And still a huge smile on the face of Superman
20:01 as we get set for the sixth and final round.
20:10 - And we see right before the end of that round
20:13 some good shots from Mandeep,
20:16 but then D'Alibara trying not to be outdone.
20:18 Comes back with a big chopping shot over the top.
20:20 That really kind of, from that angle,
20:22 looked like Mandeep got out of the way.
20:24 - Yeah, rolled with it, yeah. - He's a tricky guy,
20:26 that Jenga man. He's--
20:28 Some of those shots that look like they land, they don't.
20:30 - You know, at times,
20:32 you think he's having a clumsy moment,
20:35 but it's controlled clumsiness that can do it.
20:38 - It will. - But I'll tell you what,
20:40 from experience, 'cause I-- especially earlier in my career,
20:42 I would slip a lot of shots in awkward ways.
20:44 Doesn't help your cause, because judges are blind,
20:47 so when your head moves a certain way,
20:49 they think you actually got hit.
20:51 So it's almost like a waste of having good reflexes sometimes.
20:54 - Sixth and final round.
20:57 - I've seen commentators call shots land,
20:59 but they don't land sometimes because of that--
21:01 of that kind of awkward way of slipping.
21:04 - Not me, of course, but-- - No, Colby.
21:07 - I said it, 'cause I can be safer on you.
21:09 I know you don't do it.
21:11 Otherwise, I wouldn't have said it.
21:13 - Poor Chris is in the middle right now.
21:15 You've got the double muffs up, don't you?
21:18 - You guys can have chest-to-cuffs whenever you want.
21:21 I'll get the popcorn.
21:23 - I'm not fighting Paulie unless it's on ice skates.
21:26 - Ooh, Jenga again.
21:28 - Jenga just pops up out of nowhere.
21:31 - He really does. - He gets these snappy shots off.
21:34 - Popped up at Plant City.
21:36 - And the problem is-- he sure did.
21:38 The problem is also on the inside,
21:39 they're so square that their heads end up
21:41 banging all over the place against each other.
21:43 - Didn't that-- he's dancing on the inside?
21:45 - You know, he's trying to-- I think he's trying to show
21:47 Gentile that he's not the one causing the clench.
21:50 But sometimes he is.
21:52 - Yeah, he was.
21:53 Zangra won India's most coveted award,
21:58 one of the most coveted,
22:00 back in 2015,
22:03 the Arjuna Award for Outstanding Performance
22:06 in Sports and Games,
22:08 the second highest sporting honor in India.
22:12 He's looking to...
22:14 - I'll tell you what.
22:15 - Move his way towards victory tonight, Paul.
22:17 - I'm watching the way Zangra's style's developed
22:19 now under Roy.
22:20 You know, obviously he had some experience before.
22:22 He was always awkward, but now he's awkward
22:24 and he's better.
22:25 - And effective, yeah.
22:26 - So, like, man, he's gonna be annoying
22:28 to fight for anybody, man.
22:29 You know what I mean?
22:30 Like, even if you're better than him,
22:31 he's good enough and he's awkward enough
22:33 to make your life miserable.
22:34 - He just did that slip to the left side
22:36 and then threw the right hand again.
22:37 That's a hard one to defend against.
22:39 - And he's got some, you know,
22:40 some athleticism with it, too,
22:41 you know, which helps his cause.
22:42 - He also has great conditioning.
22:44 He's been very impressive.
22:45 He's throwing a lot of hard shots, combinations,
22:47 and he's also wasting a lot of energy
22:49 with his movement and the stuff he's doing
22:50 on the inside,
22:51 and he hasn't faded at all.
22:52 - Yeah, well, if you're gonna--
22:53 if Roy's gonna let you stay in his camp,
22:54 you're gonna train.
22:55 I'm always gonna send you home.
22:56 - Yeah, good point.
22:57 Good point.
22:58 - Is that up jab again?
23:00 - Oh, good right hand over the top.
23:02 - Right in front of us to the body again.
23:05 Final 45 seconds of this lightweight fight.
23:09 - Big shots here.
23:11 From in deep on the inside.
23:13 And for a long, tall guy,
23:14 he fights well on the inside,
23:15 even with these looping shots.
23:17 - He took one and he tackled.
23:19 - That time he was taking a picture
23:21 and he got caught.
23:24 - Smiling at us now as he's tying Talavera.
23:27 - Roy can't stop smiling in the corner.
23:29 - Yeah.
23:30 - You know what it is?
23:31 I think Roy just enjoys the fact
23:32 that in the deep's having fun.
23:33 - Yes.
23:34 - The mistakes that he is making,
23:35 they'll go back and talk about them in the gym,
23:36 you know, but I think--
23:37 I think he wants in the deep to have his moment.
23:39 - Now he's touching the chin,
23:40 saying, "Try to touch mine."
23:42 Final 10 seconds.
23:44 - Nice.
23:45 A little fake right hand to a right hand.
23:48 - Quick hands, great pace to get things started.
23:51 - Nice shots on the inside for a tall guy.
23:54 - They go the distance.
23:57 - Yes, sir, Talavera and Mandeep Jhangra.
24:01 - There's action from that last round.
24:14 We see that jab that was really very effective.
24:16 I'd like to see more of that jab from Jhangra
24:18 'cause when he uses it, he uses it very, very well.
24:20 Just at times he goes into spots where he doesn't use it.
24:23 Even on the inside, you see how he gets his head off center
24:25 and he creates punching angles.
24:27 I like the way he does that.
24:28 It's a little bit awkward,
24:29 but not keeping his head off-- in the center,
24:31 he keeps himself out of the way of the target,
24:33 and then he's able to generate momentum
24:34 when he comes back around with a shot.
24:35 The problem is, at times he does keep his head center,
24:37 and because he's squared, his head butt's all over the place.
24:40 But when he does that side movement right there,
24:42 like you saw on the inside,
24:43 he's able to both get out of the way,
24:45 keep himself protected,
24:46 and also come back and create those angles
24:48 for those loopy shots.
24:50 [indistinct chatter]
24:53 >> They were flashing and dashing
24:57 from the beginning of the fight, guys.
24:59 >> Yeah, I mean, as much as we talked about
25:01 the awkwardness of Mandeep,
25:02 I mean, he was very effective,
25:04 and he had a guy in front of him with a ton of experience
25:06 who came here to win,
25:07 and as the fight wore on,
25:09 that awkwardness, that speed, that conditioning
25:12 was just too much for Talavera.
25:14 We saw a lot of work got done
25:15 when Talavera was pinned against the ropes,
25:17 and even, I mean, Mandeep actually hurt him a few times,
25:19 especially some of those looping shots,
25:21 the body shots, the right hands over the top.
25:23 There was a cut over the eye of Talavera.
25:26 You see him waving him in.
25:27 But really, that's more frustration than anything,
25:29 because he couldn't get to Mandeep.
25:31 He was trying.
25:32 >> And that's the impressive thing about it.
25:33 Talavera showed up to fight.
25:34 He came to fight, he showed up to fight,
25:36 he wanted to fight,
25:37 and Mandeep Jengor, this is only his fifth pro fight.
25:39 You know, he's fighting a guy with 30 pro fights.
25:41 Like you said, champ, you got a 500 record,
25:42 but instead of 500 record,
25:43 and he fought some very good opposition.
25:45 He fought a lot of prospects,
25:46 so he's been in there with quality.
25:47 He knows how to handle himself.
25:49 And Mandeep, honestly, was very impressive
25:51 after that initial start in the first round.
25:53 That was a little slow.
25:54 >> Judges have rendered their decision.
25:57 Here is Mark Lichtenfeld.
25:59 [ Bell dings ]
26:00 >> Ladies and gentlemen,
26:01 after six rough and tumble rounds,
26:03 we go to the scorecards.
26:05 Rodolfo Aguilar scores at 60-54,
26:09 60-54.
26:11 Tina Griffin and Michelle Serrano Walker
26:14 both scored about 59-55.
26:17 [ Speaking Spanish ]
26:20 El ganador, por decision unanime,
26:23 your winner by unanimous decision,
26:26 Mandeep Jengor!
26:30 >> Great performance by Mandeep Jengor,
26:35 moves to 5-0 in his professional career.
