00:00 All right, guys, the rules of the tow team in the locker room
00:03 and in the corner.
00:04 You know what I said, touch gloves if you want to,
00:05 if not, go back to your corner.
00:07 Scheduled for six rounds,
00:09 Mandeep Jengra, 30 years old,
00:12 his second straight six-rounder, as we mentioned.
00:15 He fought here July 26th
00:18 and was ultra-impressive
00:20 with the six-round unanimous decision victory.
00:23 Here we go! It's time to bite.
00:26 Black trunks for Jengra.
00:30 Blue, white, and black trunks for Marcus Bose.
00:35 [ Indistinct shouting ]
00:39 Bose is a little bit of a showy outfit himself.
00:41 He might be able to fight a little bit.
00:45 Yeah, he's firing off his movement pretty well.
00:46 Looks like an explosive athletic guy.
00:50 Could be a battle of unorthodox guys
00:53 and some athleticism.
00:54 Let's see how this fight plays out.
00:55 See that low lead hand again by Mandeep,
00:59 but he'll snap that jab, Chris.
01:01 Yeah, no, he showcased a very nice jab,
01:03 some good explosive maneuvers.
01:06 You know, Champ, you had mentioned
01:07 a little unorthodox in the way he gets it done,
01:10 but very effective.
01:12 Yeah, you see, sometimes he's still shooting
01:13 that jab a little short.
01:14 He's looking for Bose to react
01:16 and so he can counter Bose's counter,
01:18 and then at times he'll step in harder.
01:20 Bose has got some athleticism
01:22 that he is already showcasing as well.
01:25 Bose is one of those guys you need a good jab
01:27 'cause he's gonna be jumping in from weird angles.
01:29 You need to keep that stick out there,
01:30 keep him on the end of everything.
01:33 I'll tell you, Jangra has some weird body shots.
01:34 He hurt his opponent a month ago
01:36 with some of those body shots as well.
01:38 He gets them in there in an unorthodox fashion.
01:40 Let him go, Red.
01:42 Let him go, Red.
01:44 Red, let him go.
01:45 That's another thing about a Jangra fight.
01:46 There could be clashes of heads,
01:47 a lot of flying in and out.
01:50 Another thing that impressed me last time out from Jangra
01:52 was his gas tank.
01:53 His endurance was phenomenal.
01:55 Between all the punches that he was throwing,
01:57 the movement, the unorthodoxy,
01:58 but also having fun in between all that.
02:01 That wastes energy.
02:02 He was not tired at all in that fight.
02:04 And that was the first time he was scheduled for six,
02:07 and he went the full six rounds, Chris,
02:09 so obviously he's doing the road work.
02:12 Yeah, he passed that test with flying colors.
02:16 Scheduled for six rounds, first fight of the night,
02:18 Mandeep Jangra and Marcus Bose.
02:22 Son of a... out there now in Jangra.
02:25 A little redness under the cheekbone
02:26 on the left side for Jangra.
02:28 You had mentioned headbutt champ.
02:30 It seems like they might be coming close together already.
02:34 Bose throwing some mean intentions as well.
02:37 Bose very light on his feet as well.
02:40 A little bit of awkwardness in trying to figure out
02:47 the range for both of these guys right now.
02:51 Some interesting footwork there.
02:53 From both guys.
02:54 From both guys.
02:57 I think Bose is actually making Jangra look orthodox.
03:02 Oh, good right hand.
03:03 Over the top.
03:04 That was probably the best shot of the round so far
03:06 from either guy.
03:07 Bose tries to answer with the shot to the body.
03:09 15 seconds, round number one.
03:12 Yeah, that was a nice dig to the body
03:13 right underneath the elbow by Bose.
03:15 Listen for the bell.
03:20 Left hook.
03:22 And a fight to the finish of round number one.
03:26 One, listen.
03:35 Don't worry about shaking your head and all that shit.
03:37 Let's get scared of your power, all right?
03:39 Hollywood James.
03:40 Keep your fucking hands up when you're moving, all right?
03:41 I want you to put your hands up and catch it in return.
03:44 He set him up for a trap, all fucking good.
03:47 He don't like the body shot, okay?
03:48 Don't get so caught up with the goddamn head.
03:51 Work on the body as well.
03:53 All right?
03:54 Keep your hands up, man.
03:55 When you're ready to do whatever,
03:56 put your legs in your face, get up.
03:58 When he comes, step, move, and get out.
04:00 Go back straight up, and when you're supposed to be ready,
04:02 you still trying to fight.
04:03 When he's jumping in there, you're going to uppercut.
04:05 Don't do that.
04:06 The Hall of Famer.
04:12 The nine-time world champion, Roy Jones Jr.,
04:15 telling Jangra, "You got to feint.
04:17 You got to feint to set things up,"
04:19 as we get set for round number two.
04:23 5-0, Mandeep Jangra in the black trunks,
04:27 black, white, and blue trunks,
04:29 for 28-year-old Marcus Bose.
04:32 Bose came out and fired a good right hand
04:34 to start the round.
04:35 You mentioned conditioning from Jangra.
04:39 You know, he didn't even sit down in the corner.
04:43 That's some stern instructions from Roy Jones Jr. as well.
04:47 Did Jangra.
04:49 Don't think Roy was smiling as much during that round
04:51 as we saw 29 days ago.
04:53 No, this is much more of a competitive fight.
04:57 And it's just really just styles, really,
04:59 because he had a pretty solid veteran in front of him
05:01 29 days ago.
05:02 He's got a guy who's also bouncy and out of range
05:05 and, you know, changes range a lot,
05:07 and that's kind of what Jangra's game is,
05:09 so they both have a hard time settling into
05:12 who's going to fight at what range.
05:14 Nice hard feint there from Jangra,
05:16 and then came back with a nice 2-win at jab up top.
05:18 Ooh, good slip.
05:21 Bose still went on the attack.
05:24 Bose looks like his confidence is growing...
05:28 Yes. ...as the fight is going on.
05:31 Let's see if-- Oh!
05:33 Quick hook to the chin of Mandeep Jangra,
05:36 and another one lands!
05:38 Big punches from Marcus Bose.
05:41 That was a nice, short little left kick.
05:43 Perfectly timed.
05:44 And this is fundamentals here.
05:46 Jangra just a little wide with his shots,
05:48 and he's got to shorten them up.
05:50 We mentioned that a month ago,
05:52 and here he's in a situation where being a little wider
05:54 with his shots is costing him.
05:56 Bose punching a little shorter
05:57 when they get off the hooks at the same time.
05:59 If you got up, try to go body, head, miss the head.
06:05 If you're going to be a little style and profile,
06:08 you are going to leave openings for your opponent.
06:11 Jangra can't forget the jab here.
06:12 He's getting closer, but he's not using the jab on his.
06:14 He's using the jab right off cue.
06:15 I was just going to say, at that close of a range,
06:18 you can use your jab.
06:20 And right off that jab comes the right hand,
06:22 the best shot he's landed tonight.
06:23 Another combination followed up by a right hand by Jangra.
06:35 Both fighters getting aggressive here in round 2.
06:38 Bose felt that right hand.
06:39 And Bose is starting to slow down a little bit,
06:41 and if he gets more flat-footed,
06:42 Jangra's going to have an opportunity
06:44 to get a little bit more comfortable with his jab now.
06:46 Let's see if he starts using it a little bit more.
06:48 Early on, Mandipa's getting a bit of his own medicine
06:53 with an awkward guy who's explosive
06:55 and throws weird punches.
06:56 Now he's finding his jab
07:00 and learning how that's able to neutralize
07:02 these awkward motions.
07:03 Yeah, and just Bose is a little less bouncing his step.
07:06 Oh! Again, a big shot from Jangra.
07:09 Oh, you mentioned the conditioning.
07:10 I think it's coming down to that conditioning
07:12 and having a little less pep in his step.
07:14 He's becoming a little more flat-footed,
07:15 and the Jangra jab is finding him now.
07:17 Final seconds of round number 2.
07:21 Over the top.
07:23 Jangra, I hate it, is finding him, too.
07:24 Yes. Big round for Mandip.
07:26 And that's after Bose had actually had
07:30 a decent start to it with a couple of punches.
07:31 Absolutely.
07:32 We spoke about the jab and how, when you've got a guy
07:39 in front of you who's bouncing and unorthodox,
07:42 get them to settle down with that jab,
07:44 and right off that,
07:45 Mandip comes back with a really sharp right hand.
07:47 He landed a couple beautiful right hands.
07:49 There's another one that shook up Marcus Bose
07:52 in round number 2.
07:54 [indistinct chatter]
07:57 Don't ever doubt the toughness of Mandip Jangra.
08:20 He was almost knocked out unconscious
08:23 in his professional debut,
08:25 managed to beat the count,
08:27 and made a comeback and earned the four-round victory.
08:31 That was May of 2021.
08:34 Round 3 of our first fight here on a Wednesday night.
08:36 Mike Goldberg, Pauly Malignaggi, Chris Algieri,
08:39 glad to be with you on your boxing channel, Pro Box TV.
08:43 That was before Jangra got with Superman, though.
08:45 Yes, very true.
08:47 But to see that type of heart and toughness and grit
08:52 to get up from that,
08:53 that's one of the things that Roy would say,
08:55 "All right, I'll teach this kid."
08:56 Well, you can see Jangra has character.
08:58 You can see it in the way he fights.
09:00 He trains hard.
09:02 And that kind of hard core trap there from Jangra,
09:04 that kind of thing doesn't come just from working hard.
09:06 It comes from passion. You want to work hard.
09:07 You enjoy putting in the work.
09:09 You can see Jangra has fun in there
09:10 because he enjoys doing this.
09:13 Represented India's national team at 165 pounds.
09:19 Now he's very comfortable at 135.
09:23 That's wild to think about, 30 pounds north
09:26 of where he is now.
09:28 He's all over the place, Jangra.
09:30 And he was guided by Pro Box and Roy Jones Jr.
09:35 to get himself down in weight
09:37 so he could utilize that long frame.
09:40 And it hasn't hurt his condition.
09:42 What's the difference now?
09:44 That herky-jerky style of Bo's has stopped.
09:47 Yeah.
09:49 He's less bouncing his step, champ.
09:51 I think he's just a little bit more fatigued,
09:54 while Jangra's still bouncing in and out.
09:57 Yeah, that bouncing in and out, changing sides stance
10:00 was giving Mandeep some trouble early.
10:03 But a couple body shots like that
10:05 are going to make Bo slow down even faster.
10:08 Mandeep will shorten up his shots.
10:10 I mean, he could be even more effective.
10:12 One thing he's probably got to work on,
10:13 and we noticed in the last couple of fights here,
10:16 he has creative ways of setting up shots,
10:18 but he's a little bit too wide, and sometimes it costs him.
10:21 It makes him miss because he's too wide.
10:23 Big right hand followed up.
10:26 And an uppercut.
10:29 That was a beautiful little sequence there.
10:31 He lands two good overhand rights,
10:33 and then switches up to a right uppercut.
10:35 All three landed really sharp.
10:38 And right now, you can see the 4-inch reach advantage,
10:42 the 4-inch height advantage coming into play,
10:45 massively going over the top.
10:48 And again, hoarding Bo's.
10:50 Roy Roy Jones said, "Make him fight."
10:52 He started to realize Bo's is uncomfortable
10:54 at a certain pace.
10:55 Jones said, "Make him fight,"
10:57 and that's what Jangra's doing.
10:58 He's making Bo's fight.
11:00 Roy also said, "Go to the body."
11:02 Slow it down even more.
11:05 Round three, Skipper for six, jumps into a left.
11:09 And he needs to be careful here.
11:11 He has exchanges.
11:12 He doesn't need to be in these kinds of things
11:14 with his chin way up in the air.
11:16 Which is something we heard Roy talk about as well.
11:20 Just a trip.
11:23 And the round comes to conclusion.

11:43 Some of these didn't land clean, but that last one...
11:47 You see what I mean about Jangra's shots
11:48 are a little wide.
11:49 I don't mind his punch selection.
11:50 He's got an awkward punch selection,
11:52 but I think that can work for him.
11:53 I just think if he shortens them up just a little bit
11:56 and combines it with that awkward punch selection,
