00:00 The payment from Saudi Arabia started to be accepted by some of the thousands of Filipinos who lost their jobs and were not paid when there was an oil crisis.

00:10 But there are still some Filipino claimants who are still waiting.

00:13 Sandra Aguinaldo was able to talk.

00:15 A year passed after the announcement that the delayed payment of 10,000 Filipinos who lost their jobs in Saudi Arabia due to the oil crisis will be paid.

00:29 Some Filipino claimants started to receive cheques.

00:34 It's a big help for us when we were able to pay off the debt.

00:36 It's also hard for people like Judah who has no one to rely on, Junmam, it's really hard. I hope we can get everything.

00:45 The problem is that because the cheque is from the bank in Saudi and is in Saudi Rial, it is not accepted by the banks in the Philippines.

00:53 The Department of Migrant Workers promised to help.

00:56 We had a meeting this morning with the overseas Filipinos bank and they will help us through this process.

01:02 There will be an appropriate announcement in one or two days about the manner in which we will help.

01:10 But some are still not able to receive their back wages.

01:14 Arcel Bigayan, a widow of a former employee of Saudi OJ, is still hoping to receive.

01:20 She said she got sick in the Philippines in 2020 while waiting for her back pay.

01:26 As much as possible, I would like to ask for a master list from Saudi.

01:32 If ever, for example, our other colleagues are not included in that list of those who will be paid, at least until early, the DMW can do something.
