00:00 Welcome to Mojo Plays, and today we're putting on our tinfoil hats as we dive into our picks
00:06 for Time's fans filled in the blanks about questions Game Freak refuses to answer.
00:17 Missing Father Found?
00:26 One of the longest and most prevailing theories in the Pokemon franchise is the absence of
00:31 Red's father in the original Red and Blue.
00:34 This theory posits that while Red's father might not be present at home, he still manages
00:39 to witness Red's Pokemon journey from amateur to champion.
00:44 In every gym the player visits, just before challenging the gym leader, there's an old
00:49 man offering words of encouragement and cheering the player forward.
00:54 Many believe this is actually Red's absentee father, managing to accompany Red during his
00:59 climb to the top of the Pokemon League.
01:02 While this does raise the question of why Red doesn't recognize his own father or why
01:06 his father never comes home, it's still a heartwarming theory to an age-old mystery.
01:18 Alien Pokemon While many Pokemon are undeniably foreign
01:28 and oftentimes alien-looking, some believe there are at least a few Pokemon not of this
01:34 world.
01:35 Although some Pokemon, like Deoxys, is officially confirmed to be an alien Pokemon, there are
01:41 those who believe more common Pokemon such as Clefairy and Clefables might also be of
01:46 an extraterrestrial origin.
01:49 Players point to these Pokemon's association with Mount Moon, and that these Pokemon can
01:55 only evolve with the use of the Moonstone, and they might not be the only ones as the
02:00 Nidorans as well as Jigglypuff require the Moonstone to evolve as well.
02:10 PokeDeath Although not explicitly stated within the
02:19 Pokemon franchise, Pokemon can and do die, but that's not the end of their journey.
02:26 Many believe that when some Pokemon perish, they become some of the many ghost types,
02:31 such as the idea that when Clefable passes, they become the ghost Pokemon, Gengar.
02:36 This isn't the end of the dark theory either as humans can suffer a similar fate.
02:41 The ghost Pokemon, Phanthump, is believed to be the spirit of children who become lost
02:46 in the woods, and upon death, their spirits possess tree stumps as they continue to wander
02:52 the woods still searching for a way out.
02:55 Somehow just as horrific is Yamask, a Pokemon that wanders ruins carrying a mask that is
03:01 believed to be its own face and expression upon death.
03:06 We're only focusing on these specific entries, but there are many other such Pokemon who
03:11 have allegedly suffered similar fates.
03:17 Paradox Pokemon This one's gonna get a little wibbly wobbly
03:24 timey wimey, so just bear with us.
03:28 While the timeline of events in Pokemon lore has been mostly consistent throughout the
03:32 series, the reveal of the Paradox Pokemon seems to contradict everything the most recent
03:38 titles Scarlet and Violet have told us about the Pokemon world.
03:43 This is mostly due to the fact that these Pokemon can't exist within the same established
03:48 timeline.
03:49 Reddit user Dropsea2095 believes that in fact there was no time machine, and that these
03:55 Paradox Pokemon are in fact born from human imagination using the power of Terrapagos.
04:02 While this would explain a lot of the inconsistencies within the established timeline, their true
04:07 origins remain to be seen.
04:16 The Three Dogs Theory First introduced in Pokemon Gold and Silver,
04:20 the player learns of the tragic destruction of the Brass Tower in Ecruteak City and the
04:26 loss of three Pokemon that sadly died in the fire over 150 years before the games take
04:32 place.
04:33 It's believed that Ho-Oh and its grief created the three legendary Pokemon Raikou,
04:38 Entei, and Suicune to symbolize their loss.
04:42 But which three Pokemon tragically perished in the fire?
04:46 Many believe the original Pokemon that perished were the original Eeveelutions Jolteon, Flareon,
04:52 and Vaporeon.
04:53 There seems to be a remarkable amount of evidence to back up this theory as well, such as the
04:58 three legendaries sharing similar types and stats as well as their hidden abilities being
05:04 near carbon copies of the original Eeveelutions.
05:08 AZ Abandoned Pokemon The Pokemon franchise is one of the longest
05:18 running series in all of gaming and likewise has grown with its audience.
05:23 However, what initially began as only 151 Pokemon has ballooned to over a thousand with
05:30 new types, strengths, weaknesses, and possible breeding combinations.
05:35 So it wouldn't be hard for many early fans to have fallen off with the series.
05:39 However, according to Redditor Irish33, in Pokemon X and Y, Game Freak seems to acknowledge
05:46 these fans with the character of AZ.
05:49 AZ is one of the few older characters the player interacts with and theoretically would
05:54 be the same age as those who grew up with Red and Blue.
05:58 This could also be the reason behind AZ's attachment to older Pokemon the series had
06:02 left behind over the years.
06:05 His nostalgic views of Pokemon and the original journeys players took with them also resonates
06:10 with many of the older fans of the series.
06:18 Post-Apocalyptic Pokemon Without a doubt, one of the most popular fan
06:22 theories in all of Pokemon lore is the Great Pokemon War that took place before the events
06:28 of Red and Blue.
06:29 There is actually quite a lot of evidence to support this theory, such as the lack of
06:34 military aged men within the world as well as Lt. Surge's comments about an Electric
06:39 type saving him during the war.
06:41 While it's unknown how long ago this war took place, it has been long enough for the
06:46 world to rebuild itself as well as what fans believe is a tower built using the cremated
06:51 remains of all the Pokemon who died during this conflict, which players can discover
06:56 at Mount Pyre with its many rooms littered with numerous headstones.
07:01 Ditto Origins As one of the only Pokemon capable of shapeshifting
07:10 through the move Transform, Ditto is kind of an anomaly in the Pokemon universe.
07:15 However, many believe there may be an ulterior motive behind Ditto's abilities.
07:21 The most prevailing theory is that Ditto is a failed clone experiment to recreate the
07:25 legendary Pokemon Mew, who also happens to be the only other Pokemon capable of Transform.
07:32 What lends further credence to this theory is that both Ditto and Mew's shiny forms
07:37 are exactly the same light blue color.
07:40 Another popular fan theory is that Ditto was created for the sole purpose of breeding endangered
07:45 Pokemon to help their species from becoming extinct.
07:53 Arceus Constructed Within Pokemon lore, there are none more
08:03 powerful than Arceus.
08:06 Believed to have created the Pokemon universe, there are many who revere Arceus as a god.
08:11 But what if that was only half the truth?
08:14 Reddit user BouncingCloud believes that Arceus was actually designed and created by another
08:20 dying universe and sent out into the cosmos to build a new world so their species would
08:25 live on.
08:27 Many point to the mix of organic and mechanical material and the fact that even as a god,
08:33 players are able to capture him just like any other Pokemon.
08:36 If Arceus was truly created from the remnants of Pokemon from another universe, then Arceus
08:42 would also in theory be a Pokemon as well.
08:53 Pokeball Tech Ever wondered just how capturing Pokemon
09:02 in those tiny balls really works?
09:04 The tech behind these little multicolored balls has long been the topic of discussion
09:09 as well as just what it's like within the balls themselves.
09:13 Reddit user Nameless88 believes they might have discovered exactly how these magical
09:18 balls work.
09:19 Essentially, it breaks down to the use of quantum mechanics and the Pokeball converting
09:24 the Pokemon into light, like data being saved on a computer.
09:29 Another popular theory is the teleportation theory.
09:32 This theory states that every time you capture a Pokemon, you're breaking it down and rebuilding
09:37 it from the saved data within the Pokeball.
09:40 So in essence, every time a Pokemon is caught and released from its Pokeball, it's not the
09:45 same Pokemon, but actually a clone, and the old version dies each time the player calls
09:51 out the Pokemon.
09:53 No wonder Pikachu never wanted to get into the ball.
10:01 What's your favorite Pokemon theory?
