00:00 These young survivors of the Hamas terror attack on the Nova festival in Israel are
00:04 working through their trauma with specialists.
00:08 Fifty of them arrive here at the secret forest resort in Paphos, Cyprus every week.
00:14 We can talk about it in a quieter place because Israel is still under attack and in Israel
00:20 everything takes you back.
00:22 Here you really feel the protective shell.
00:25 The retreat's Israeli owner has arranged a free program for them with the support of
00:30 the Israel Aid NGO.
00:31 Till now we bought 200 and we will continue till the end and we will bring all of them
00:36 here and we give them everything with love.
00:40 One thousand two hundred survivors and relatives are on a list waiting to come here for a few
00:45 days respite.
00:47 The community centre of the large Jewish population on the island helped dozens of families find
00:52 places to stay after they fled from Israel following the attacks.
00:56 Only a 40 minute flight from Tel Aviv many Israelis have been moving to the safety of
01:01 Larnaca for the past decade or so.
01:04 We feel this unwavering support both from the local authorities and the government of
01:07 Cyprus and especially from our friends, the Cypriot people that we know here in Cyprus
01:14 we see across the board full support.
01:18 While it might not seem like much the quiet space that Cyprus is providing these terror
01:22 attack survivors is an important step in helping them peace back their lives.
01:27 But respite for Gaza's traumatised civilians is not yet in sight as Israel's war on Hamas
01:32 continues.
