00:00 [INAUDIBLE]
00:02 So if anybody's ready, we'll open it up for questions
00:04 for Sky and JJ and Fred.
00:06 I wanted to ask you about that shot that tied the game.
00:13 You take us through that, what you were thinking,
00:16 and just pulled up and hit it.
00:19 Yeah, well, Coach has really told us to--
00:22 he trusted us, he really wanted us to get the three up.
00:25 And it was really, for me, I was trying
00:26 to create for one of these guys.
00:28 But I guess they took those away,
00:30 and they just gave me an open three.
00:31 We walked into it, held it, and went in.
00:33 This question can be for any of you all.
00:41 But after you had just a couple of really strong games,
00:46 up in New York, how is the vibe different coming back
00:50 to the home court in this one, facing a smaller crowd
00:53 and facing a smaller opponent?
00:55 Just the differences in energy from the team
00:59 that might have led to the slow start today.
01:01 Yeah, we just know who we are now,
01:03 and we know what we got to do.
01:04 And we just need to see it for ourselves.
01:06 And we saw that in New York.
01:08 So it just gave us all the confidence in the world
01:11 to go out there and compete and play hard and play confident.
01:16 What about today do you think led to the slower start?
01:19 First eight shots, and it just didn't seem like a thing
01:22 to play anymore after they did in New York.
01:24 Yeah, like you said, just shots weren't falling.
01:27 I think we settled for too many threes in the beginning,
01:31 even though they were good looks.
01:34 We're more of a driving team until them shots start falling.
01:37 So we hit shots in the beginning,
01:39 then it's a totally different scenario.
01:41 Yeah, and I'll add to that.
01:43 I think it was our early execution was bad,
01:46 and that led to--
01:48 bled into our defense a little bit, bled into our offense.
01:51 And then I feel like once we came back together
01:53 after they went on a run and matched their energy,
01:57 then exceeded their energy, we started going on runs.
02:03 You guys are down eight with a minute 18 to go.
02:06 What changed?
02:07 What did you say to each other?
02:08 How were you able to overcome that big of a margin
02:11 in that small amount of time?
02:15 I really just felt like we came together more.
02:17 I feel like throughout the game, sometimes we
02:19 were missing the one mores or missing the extra team play.
02:22 And then once that crunch time started to come together,
02:24 I feel like we started to come together with a team more,
02:26 and that's really what we did.
02:27 We didn't really change anything.
02:29 Yeah, and I felt Ty Lark came in off the bench
02:32 and got us some big steals, big plays that
02:35 helped spark that run at the end, including
02:38 Trey's shot at the end, too.
02:41 For each of you, the game plan coming in,
02:43 was it to attack, they're going to foul you?
02:45 I mean, because you guys feasted at the free throw line.
02:47 Yeah, that was definitely something KP harped on.
02:50 We were scouting them before the game and shoot around.
02:54 We knew that they were a very foul-prone team.
02:57 And if we drive and go up strong,
02:58 then we're going to get a lot of calls.
03:02 1.5 seconds ago, they were shooting two free throws
03:04 to win it.
03:05 They missed them both.
03:06 Would you guys say anything down there at the line?
03:08 Or are you thinking anything?
03:10 Or what was going on?
03:11 No, we were just praying he missed those free throws.
03:13 The crowd was the one that got him off his game.
03:18 Have you ever seen a game end with four players in the court
03:21 for one team?
03:22 Like that this year?
03:24 No, I've never been a part of that.
03:26 I've seen it happen on the TV and stuff.
03:29 But I've never experienced that.
03:31 That was crazy.
03:32 Last year, you guys lost some games like this.
03:39 What can a win like this do for this team?
03:42 I think it just shows our resilience and our fight.
03:48 Last year, we wouldn't stay together during times like this.
03:52 And we'd break and not make that play to win that game.
03:57 And this year, I feel like we make those plays.
04:00 And we've got to continue to make those plays
04:02 and stay together as best as we can.
04:05 Because we've got the talent.
04:06 We've just got to be together.
04:07 Together, we're really good.
04:08 Sky, you and Ty Lohr out there together,
04:14 what do you like about playing with him?
04:16 And you guys obviously have room to grow, to feed off
04:19 of each other.
04:19 But what do you think that is, the potential for you
04:21 two together?
04:22 Yeah, me and Ty Lohr, we both love playing defense.
04:25 And I think that we showed a lot of that tonight.
04:29 Our goals are to hold the other point guards and guards
04:32 under their average.
04:33 And so just going out there, he's a fighter.
04:37 He's a dog.
04:38 He plays with a lot of aggressiveness
04:40 and a lot of that New York style grit.
04:43 And I feed off that.
04:44 And it's really fun to play with.
04:46 So I'm grateful to have him as a teammate.
04:49 JJ, you play Bellarmine next.
04:56 They beat you last year, as you I'm sure know.
04:59 And it was a big deal.
05:00 Your thoughts on Bellarmine?
05:03 Really good team, really good program.
05:06 I think we're definitely-- that's
05:07 a game we marked on our calendar.
05:10 And we're going to do everything in our best
05:12 to prepare for it and take the challenge.
05:15 Thank you.
05:16 Thank you.
