00:00 Contraband cigarettes worth more than RM2 million were seized in two separate raids
00:07 in Perak last Thursday.
00:09 The Perak Customs Department on Monday said they raided two residential areas in Setiwan
00:15 and Pantai Remis, respectively.
00:17 The department said they are working with other agencies to locate the owners of the
00:21 premises.
00:22 "The first case in Setiwan was a gated house.
00:30 It was easier for us to locate the owners of the premises.
00:39 The second case was a locked house.
00:40 The second case was in a house without a door.
00:41 We are not sure, but based on the robbery, we think it was for the Perak market.
00:42 If it was a cigarette, we might know.
00:43 Based on the case we received, it might be from Vietnam."
01:01 The Customs said they seized some 2.7 million sticks of contraband cigarettes from the premises.
01:07 They believe that the perpetrators kept the contraband in the premises because of unpaid
01:11 duties.
01:12 This is the biggest operation that the State Customs Department has conducted this year.
