Police in Johor busted a drug trafficking and processing syndicate after arresting a pair of lovers and seizing various types of drugs worth more than RM2 million in separate raids on August 17.

00:15State Police Chief Commissioner M Kumar said the couple, a 31-year-old foreign man and
00:21a 38-year-old local woman, had been using a terrace house in one of Johor Bahru's affluent
00:27neighbourhoods as a drug processing laboratory since May.
00:31He added that the narcotics seized from the two suspects, who also tested positive for
00:37drugs, are meant for the local market and a neighbouring country.
00:40The drugs are distributed in small quantities using runners to avoid police detection.
00:46Commissioner Kumar said police also seized a car, almost 132,000 ringgit in cash, including
00:52Singapore currency, and three bank accounts containing over 129,000 ringgit.
00:58The two suspects have been remanded to assist with investigations under Section 39B of the
01:05Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952.
