Everyone has something they do a little different over Christmas. Whether it’s something just slightly different like a duck instead of turkey for dinner, or maybe you do a proper karaoke with the family on Christmas Eve. We all have our own traditions, so we speak to the people of Cardiff about what makes their Christmases unique.

00:00 "In Egypt we are 80% Muslims and 20% Christians, so we take breaks for all religions, so it's
00:11 almost free over there in Egypt.
00:13 During Christmas everything changes, they add decorations everywhere, they also do activities
00:20 everywhere for kids, it's special there also.
00:23 But not as here in Europe and European countries like the UK and this stuff, but it's still
00:28 special there, we still do celebrate it and they sometimes do Thanksgiving."
00:33 "We always have a spread, we don't really do like… we do have dinner but we have a
00:40 spread as well, it's always a spread and then there's always fancy gin, my mum loves
00:46 a bit of gin so I'll always bring back a bottle of something different that she's
00:50 not seen, I have to find something new this year."
00:52 "Just make sure we celebrate each other, especially on Christmas Day and Boxing Day,
00:57 come together, friends and family, so friends always involved, we have games and chill,
01:02 drink and just celebrate the year, that's the main thing we do.
01:06 And obviously we've got our Christmas tree and tinsel, but it's mainly celebrating
01:11 each other at the end of the year."
01:13 "I don't know about different, we usually all go out for a meal on Christmas Eve and
01:22 the family as they've grown have come with us and then some now have got babies so they're
01:29 not coming anymore but the Hardy annuals are still going on Christmas Eve somewhere, don't
01:35 know where yet."
01:36 "Christmas to me is about a religious festival, a Christian festival, so I go to church on
01:43 Christmas Day and I enjoy that, I enjoy the Christmas dinner but a lot of the rest of
01:50 the commercial stuff I'm not that bothered about really."
01:53 "We go to Dorch as they do it all, which is nice, takes the pressure off both families
02:03 of course.
02:04 So yeah, putting the Christmas decks up this week as well, so that'll be good.
02:10 The other thing we do tend to do is go to Centre Parks at Christmas, yeah, Longleat,
02:16 and it's all, the lights are fantastic, they are really lovely.
02:20 So that's our little celebrations."
02:23 "She's from Ukraine, and it's Orthodox with her, 7th of January."
02:29 "I'm going to cook Christmas duck for Christmas lunch, yeah, same, same, only different date."
02:37 "So you get two Christmas decks?"
02:40 "Yeah."
02:41 "So, nah, it's pretty much the same every year, so go over to Nan's house, get all the
02:47 family round, a good 12 of us or whatever, and have a cooked dinner, and then exchange
02:54 presents, and then, an hour in, the Christmas carols songs will probably come out, and have
03:01 a few drinks."
