00:00 The government is now in favor of the resolution that will help in the investigation of the International Criminal Court in the drug war of the former administration.
00:09 The Solicitor General, Menardo Guevara, is also in favor of the Philippines' legal obligation to help the ICC.

00:24 After four hours of deliberation, the House Committee on Justice and the House Committee on Human Rights approved the three resolutions that were helped by some of the judges.
00:35 The House of Representatives unanimously decided on the resolutions that are being called to the government to help in the investigation of the International Criminal Court
00:44 regarding the war against drugs under the administration of the former President Rodrigo Duterte.
00:50 This resolution is about principles, not personalities.
00:56 Cooperating with the ICC underscores our commitment to upholding human rights.

01:05 There are no impediments that should be stopped in the search for justice for the 7,732 people.
01:16 Following the approval of the ICC Appeals Chamber, the decision of the Pre-trial Chamber 1 was approved by the ICC prosecutor
01:23 to continue the investigation of the alleged crimes that took place in the Philippines from November 1, 2011 to March 16, 2019.
01:33 This includes the deaths in police operations in the drug campaign of the former administration of Duterte,
01:40 where more than 7,000 people were killed, according to the Department of Justice.
01:46 Among them is the wife of Jane Lee.
01:48 We believe and hope that this investigation of the ICC is for the interest of the families of the loved ones who lost their loved ones
01:58 who have been continuously seeking justice for the past seven years.
02:03 But according to the DOJ, the justice system in the country is working again.
02:08 There are several cases that have been filed in court and some have already been sentenced.
02:13 The Solicitor General also condemned the illegal obligation of the Philippines to assist the ICC because it has no jurisdiction in the country.
02:23 The Philippines left the ICC in 2019 while the ICC Pre-trial Chamber decided to start an investigation in the war on drugs in 2021.
02:35 From a primary jurisdiction to investigate all offenses and crimes that happened within Philippine territory belong to the national domestic institutions.
02:46 If we allow someone else to do what we ought to do, then in effect we are surrendering part of our sovereignty.
02:55 The PNP said that they will only follow what the President will say about this.
03:01 The Commission on Human Rights is ready if the ICC needs their coordination as an independent and constitutionally created commission.
03:11 After approving the resolutions, the government is asking for help in the investigation of the International Criminal Court.
03:20 The House Committee on Justice and the House Committee on Human Rights will consult Senator Risa Ontiveros who signed the same resolution.
03:28 The resolution was signed by Senator Ronald Bato de la Rosa, who was the former chief of the PNP when the war on drugs was initiated.
03:37 President Bongbong Marcos talked to de la Rosa regarding the investigation of the ICC.
