Speed was his game
Transcript
00:00 Deshaun Jackson was always known for his remarkable speed, which enabled him to have remarkable
00:06 success as a yards per reception guy.
00:11 He always averaged well beyond 15 yards per catch in the pros and almost that at Cal as
00:18 well.
00:20 His most famous play was the long catch for an apparent touchdown when he dropped the
00:27 ball around the one yard line and didn't get credit for that.
00:30 We did not include that particular play in our story.
00:36 But there's lots of videos of that so you can pick it up pretty much anywhere.
00:39 He's certainly not the only person who's done that.
00:42 It's amazing how many times players have done that, dropped the ball at the two or one yard
00:46 line before crossing the goal line with no one around them.
00:52 So it's a really remarkable thing.
00:54 But his big play capabilities were almost unmatched.
00:58 He was compared to Reggie Bush and a lot of people like that in college at Cal and continued
01:04 that kind of big play success, particularly as a punt returner throughout his NFL career.
