00:00 Pakistan and India are two neighbors who are probably fighting their biggest battle of survival.
00:05 And what is that battle?
00:06 Against climate change.
00:08 If there is smoke in Lahore, then there is smoke in Delhi as well.
00:12 If the landslide attacks are on crops in Pakistan, then there are similar situations in India as well.
00:17 When the pollution index increases in Delhi, it increases in Lahore.
00:20 If Karachi is polluted, then many cities in India are also in the top 10 numbers in that index.
00:26 So, the most important battle that is going to happen right now,
00:30 is the battle of climate change.
00:38 Today, I was looking at the picture of COP28.
00:43 If I could show it on the big screen,
00:46 the Prime Minister of India, Modi is also standing in the first lane.
00:51 The Pakistan's Minister of Finance is also standing in the last lane.
00:54 But before this, we saw that when Shabaz Sharif's government was in power,
00:58 he was also standing in the last lane.
01:00 It is such a pity that Pakistan is one of the countries in the world
01:04 where climate change has affected the most.
01:07 But the legal status of that is not given to them in this COP summit.
01:15 The Prime Minister, Modi, who is standing in this picture,
01:18 where our Prime Minister is also standing,
01:20 is in the same room, in the same place, but there are so many distances between the two countries.
01:27 It is such a pity that this is a world where more than a quarter of the population is Arab.
01:33 But they cannot come together to bring a joint climate action plan.
01:38 And the way more than Arab people's lives are being played here through politics,
01:43 this is a sad thing.
01:45 If we look at it, then the Prime Minister of Modi and the Prime Minister of Pakistan should stand together.
01:49 Because there is no limit to the destruction caused by climate.
01:53 No climate, no pollution, no climate activism is dependent on any limit.
02:02 And this is what Pakistan and India will have to think about.
02:05 So, what we see in front of us is so far away.
02:07 Okay, you have other big differences,
02:09 you have a history of 75 years,
02:13 you have grudges against each other, you have differences against each other.
02:16 But do not let it dominate.
02:19 There are challenges of the future on it.
02:21 There is only one challenge of the future.
02:23 And that is that the climate change is being eaten by Pakistan and India in a very bad way.
02:30 So when you will not have the right climate,
02:33 the people who are breathing air here will not be right,
02:36 then what will be your further challenges in the world?
02:41 When the health and life of humans will be in danger.
02:43 Pakistan has so many big challenges.
02:46 Does the world believe it?
02:47 When asked a question, they believe that Pakistan is a big victim in this whole matter.
02:52 When the UK ambassador came to our program,
02:54 she admitted this.
02:56 Let's listen to what she said.
02:58 Pakistan is a victim of the climate change.
03:01 We are probably generating the least amount of carbon footprint,
03:05 yet we are on the receiving end.
03:07 Well, we are the emitters, for sure.
03:09 It really is about climate justice.
03:11 The big emitters should be helping out those who are falling victim of climate change.
03:18 The European Union, we are not perfect by any means,
03:22 but we are a fairly low emitter.
03:24 We put out about 9% of global greenhouse gas emissions,
03:29 but we do finance about 30% of the public international financing for climate.
03:35 And finance is the key.
03:37 The Prime Ministers of Pakistan and India will have to work together
03:43 and make a joint climate action plan.
03:46 Otherwise, more than 1.25 billion people's lives are in danger.
