00:05 new head coach, many were left wondering who was the Aggies' first choice to lead this

00:11 Athletic Director Ross Bjork didn't really specify at Elko's introductory press conference.

00:16 Bjork commented, "These things are fluid.

00:18 And again, when you get down to crunch time, I felt that if we had the right group of finalists,

00:23 I think this weekend was critical to get things done.

00:28 According to the AD, the Aggies interviewed over 30 candidates in the two weeks that the

00:32 search spanned.

00:34 With that, it is reasonable to assume that Stoops was one of those choices, as he was

00:39 reportedly under the impression that he landed the job, as well as UTSA's Jeff Traylor.

00:46 Whether or not Elko was the first choice for the Aggies, he is the one who was given the

00:50 job and he has the chance to prove that they made the right choice.
