00:42 UNRWA's statement on climate relief, recovery and peace at the Global Climate Action Organization.
01:01 Hello, welcome to From the South.
01:15 I'm Ana Empresa Vald from the Televisión Studios in Havana, Cuba.
01:19 We begin with the news.
01:21 Venezuelan citizens go to the polls this Sunday to participate in the consultative referendum
01:26 for the defense of Zekieva Gayana.
01:28 A total of 28,000 police stations have been set up in the 23 states and the capital districts.
01:34 There are 335 municipalities and 1,141 churches.
01:40 Early in the morning, President Nicolás Maduro emphasized that with the consultative referendum,
01:44 the voice of Venezuela will be one to solve a territorial dispossession that had been
01:49 going on for 150 years.
01:51 The president made his statements at the end of his vote in Urzistá, the Escuela Ecológica
01:55 Nacional Bolivariana Simón Rodríguez, located in Caracas.
01:59 Also the president of the National Electoral Council, Elvis Morazo, informed that at half
02:03 nine a.m. local time, 97% of the polling stations in the country are already installed for the
02:09 day.
02:10 The national coordinator of the Comando Campaña Venezuela Toda, Jorge Rodríguez, and the
02:14 Secretary Vice President, Dessy Rodríguez, urged the Venezuelan people to vote united
02:19 as a family for the Ezequiel Guayana.
02:26 The people of Venezuela carried out a historic consultative referendum in defense of the
02:31 Ezequiel.
02:32 For more updates and more details, we get in contact with the correspondent Gladys Casada.
02:37 Hello Gladys.
02:38 Hello, Are.
02:39 Yes, I'm still here in downtown Caracas where people are still coming to vote.
02:48 This is midday, mid-journey of this voting in this referendum, this consultative referendum
02:54 on the Guayana Ezequiel region.
02:57 As we have been saying, and I know you have been reporting also, there are five questions
03:02 in the ballot that the Venezuelans must answer yes or no.
03:06 And the five questions are related to the current dispute between Guyana, the Cooperative
03:12 Republic of Guyana, and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
03:16 So far, people are still coming here, people are still arriving to vote in the voting centers
03:22 and other locations, also all over Caracas.
03:27 And as you can see, there is an order in the way that people can come and check what voting
03:33 table they must go to.
03:36 And they are approaching with their children, with the elderly, and also with the ones that
03:41 need assistance.
03:42 Also, as we have been saying and stressing, this is an ordered and peaceful process that
03:49 has been a democratic, joyful celebration.
03:53 This has been one day of calm and peace.
03:56 Also, today in the voting center I'm currently at, there was a visit of the national director
04:05 of the National Electoral Council, and in this case, Rector Nogales.
04:10 She was touring the facilities, touring the voting centers, and she was present here overseeing
04:17 the process.
04:18 She also was referring to the expression of the will of the people.
04:25 She was talking that the National Electoral Council does not believe in statistics, believes
04:30 in the actual voting, in the actual numbers, and in the actual will of the people.
04:36 Also, she was stressing that 100% of the colleges opened at 6 a.m. in the country, and all of
04:44 them were ready and with all the logistics set in place for this voting day with all
04:50 the implements, the voting machines, and also all the needed and required resources put
04:58 in place for this occasion.
05:00 Also, as you know, all the national authorities, the top authorities of the country, have been
05:07 not only touring the voting centers, but also offering their remarks and their opinions
05:13 on this process.
05:14 One of them is Delcy Rodriguez, the executive vice president of Venezuela, who was addressing
05:20 the press on the occasion of this referendum, and she was stressing the need of the government
05:27 of Venezuela and Guyana to hold talks regarding this dispute and regarding the Guyana-Ezequiba
05:34 region.
05:35 Let's listen.
05:36 Even when Maduro was a foreign minister, we have already said many times that there has
05:50 to be a dialogue, there has to be a whole talks, they had to resume negotiations based
06:01 on the Geneva agreement, so based on legality and peace.
06:09 That's the judicial issue.
06:13 So Venezuelan people are just exercising their sovereignty.
06:19 Today is a day where all Venezuelans are equal, because each citizen's vote is remarkably
06:30 valuable, and it is going to remain in the history in defense of our Guyana-Ezequiba.
06:44 Also the executive vice president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez, was praising the process
06:51 and praising how all Venezuelans, without any colors, any divisions, any political affiliations
06:57 or factions, were coming to vote and were coming for just one common cause of the Venezuelan
07:04 nationality and the Venezuelan people, and that is to the recovery of the dispute of
07:10 the Ezequiba region, the Guyana-Ezequiba.
07:13 As we know, there is a zone on their request, on their claim, and on their dispute with
07:20 the cooperative republic of Guyana.
07:22 The executive vice president also was saying that despite all the liabilities imposed by
07:29 the ExxonMobil and the government of Guyana, Venezuela was given an example of democracy,
07:35 an example of peace, and an example of concord and dialogue.
07:39 What will do the Venezuelan people is just an impetus for the people of the region.
07:55 So the Venezuelan people is an example for the world because we are going to defend our
08:05 Ezequiba with lives.
08:12 So these were the remarks and the words of the executive vice president, Del C. Rodriguez.
08:18 We know that also the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodriguez, has been given
08:23 other statements and his opinions, his criteria to the press.
08:29 And as we know also, the president, Nicolás Maduro Moros, early in the morning was inviting
08:33 all Venezuelans to vote and he was casting his vote on the first hours of this Sunday.
08:40 He was also, around 6 a.m., he was presenting and going to the voting center of his jurisdiction.
08:49 So far, this is the information.
08:51 We will have more details.
08:52 And I want to invite all our viewers, all of our audience, to our special interviews
08:58 that we are going to have in the nighttime after the voting day closes and with analysts,
09:05 experts and other people and figures and personalities that are present here in Venezuela during
09:11 this voting day.
09:13 This is my report so far.
09:15 So right now I give you back the signal.
09:18 So back to you.
09:22 Thank you, Luis Garza, for reporting for us from Venezuela on the historic date of the
09:26 consultative referendum of Guayana and Sequiva.
09:30 We continue with more news.
09:34 And we continue with more news that we are going to see right now.
09:41 And the historical context that led to the first question.
09:44 We tell you about an end to this special series.
09:47 We understand this dispute of more than a century, which is also considered the longest
09:51 in the republican history of Venezuela.
09:53 Our correspondent Melin Garcia tells us about it.
10:08 What is the historical context that led to the formulation of the first question of the
10:12 consultative referendum of December 3rd in defense of the Guayana and Sequiva?
10:17 We tell you in this special series to understand this controversy of more than a century, also
10:23 considered the longest in the republican history of Venezuela.
10:33 I am right in front of the de facto line.
10:35 The 1966 Geneva agreement states that Guayana and Venezuela must settle the dispute friendly,
10:41 pacifically, and through a practical and convenient solution for both parts.
10:46 This is the Coyuni River, and on the other shore begins the Guayana-Sequiva territory
10:51 of almost 160,000 square kilometers that was plundered by the United Kingdom from Venezuela
10:57 in 1899, in what is known as the arbitration award that was signed in Paris under deception,
11:04 manipulation of maps, and fraudulent border lines.
11:11 The first world effect before the United Nations when signing the Geneva agreement is to make
11:15 it clear that the Sequiva dispute has not been solved and that the agreement, the arbitration
11:20 award of 1999, was null and void and remains pending to be denounced.
11:28 And the fact is that right there, one of the Stromberg lines that goes from the exit to
11:34 the Atlantic to the border with Brazil was staked out.
11:38 Stromberg was a German that since 1835 was staking out and staking out the territory,
11:45 opening the way to the occupation of the United Kingdom and progressive plundering of the
11:49 Venezuelan territory.
11:50 Venezuela has in its possession a key document that over the years was declassified.
11:55 It is the Vintage Parliamentary Papers of 1840 that show the true intentions of the
12:01 United Kingdom and reveal its unnatural and fraudulent moves operandi.
12:07 The map shows nothing more and nothing less than gold in all the territory.
12:12 Here is the Sequiva, and look how they got in there.
12:15 Look how it started.
12:17 Look how they got in there.
12:18 But look at the reason.
12:19 Gold, gold, gold, gold.
12:23 Let's assume it was gold and hear why they come in here.
12:28 Because of all this, Venezuelans will be asked if you agree to reject by all means in accordance
12:33 with the law, the line that was fraudulently imposed by the Paris Arbitration Award of
12:39 1899, which is thought to impose Venezuela of the Guyana Sequiva.
12:44 This is one of the questions that Guyana is asking the International Court of Justice
12:49 to prohibit because it is precisely asking that the court enforce the arbitration award
12:55 that disposes Venezuela of its territory in 1899.
12:59 I will continue to explain the context of the question in another series.
13:08 Let's take a short break.
13:09 But remember you can join us on T-Tech at El Cerdo English for the findings in different
13:14 formats, new days and more.
13:16 Other studies coming up.
13:17 Stay with us.

14:05 A large number of veterans were brought to the Facility of Israel, saying that its military
14:09 operations resulted in a gas strip and a lack of beds meant that three of the patients on
14:14 the floor, which was fricked with blood and scattered with abandoned belongings, bodies
14:19 covered with blankets and sheets for laying next to those received medical attention.
14:25 Heavy embarkments were reported overnight and into Sunday in the area of Can Dunes and
14:29 the southern city of Rafah.
14:31 Afral ordered the more areas around Can Dunes, Gaza's second largest city, to evacuate.
14:37 Parts of the north of the strip also were the focus of the riot police's torrient air
14:41 and ground campaign.
14:48 Palestinian authorities report hundreds of people killed after mass Israeli attacks on

16:13 During the meeting, President Abbas briefed the ICC prosecutor on the ongoing developments
16:18 in Palestine, especially in light of the persistent Israeli aggression against the Palestinian
16:23 people.
16:24 Abbas highlighted the acts of genocide and ethnic cleansing being carried out these days
16:28 by the Israeli occupation in Gaza, as well as the ongoing Israeli violations in the West
16:33 Bank, including Jerusalem.
16:35 President Abbas urged Prosecutor Khan to expedite investigations and pursue legal action against
16:40 Israeli war criminals responsible for crimes committed in the Palestinian territories.
16:45 President Abbas called for an immediate and complete cessation of Israeli aggression to
16:49 spur civilians from the devastating impacts of first-rate killings and destruction caused
16:54 by the Israeli war machine.
17:03 Spain's forced liquefied natural gas from Russia reached the Bay back this year, 2023.
17:09 Local media report that Russia is the third supplier of hydrocarbons in the region, behind
17:14 Algeria and the United States, with only 18.1% of the share of the gas imported into the
17:19 European country.
17:21 The liquefied natural gas sent by Moscow by Shep is not related to the oil tankers imposing
17:26 Russia after the Ukraine conflict.
17:28 Spain is the main supporter of Russian liquefied natural gas among the countries of the European
17:33 nation.
17:40 The Swiss Alarm Public Television has just announced a new scandal with national record

18:07 RTS investigated for 12 weeks and based on various testimonies revealed the suspicious
18:12 abuse that also affects the head of the two institutions, two of whom have been directly
18:17 implicated.
18:18 The cases, one of which occurred between 1995 and 2005, have been systematically ignored
18:24 or covered up by the church hierarchy.
18:27 The investigation states that the 1,200 cases of sexual abuse in the country were committed

21:44 year after disordered actions of the N23 rebel group.
21:48 Democratic Republic of Congo authorities at the time invited the EAC to deploy the forces
