00:00 As promised, I have a quick and easy recipe for you
00:03 using chickpea tofu that we made last time.
00:06 We're going to make a lip-smacking
00:07 tandoori pan-fried tofu.
00:09 Let's see how to make it.
00:11 We're going to start by preparing the marinade
00:13 for our tandoori.
00:14 I'm going to start by heating up some mustard oil.
00:17 The oil has started smoking.
00:19 I'm going to switch off the flame
00:20 and add it directly to my bowl.
00:23 While the oil is still hot,
00:25 we're going to add in Kashmiri red chili powder,
00:27 one and a half tablespoon.
00:29 When you add Kashmiri red chili powder to hot oil,
00:32 it releases its color as well.
00:34 You get a nice deep red color.
00:36 Now to this, I'm going to add our other spices,
00:39 starting with half a teaspoon of haldi,
00:42 half teaspoon of garam masala,
00:44 one teaspoon of chaat masala,
00:46 one tablespoon of coriander powder,
00:49 half a teaspoon of black pepper powder,
00:51 one teaspoon of jeera powder,
00:53 half a teaspoon of black salt,
00:55 one tablespoon of kasuri methi.
00:57 Now we're going to give this a stir.
01:00 To finish the preparation of our marinade,
01:02 I'm going to add in some thick yogurt,
01:04 around two tablespoons.
01:06 Now we're going to mix this very well.
01:09 Now that our marinade is ready,
01:14 we're going to add in the chickpea tofu.
01:16 Along with this, I'm going to add in some red capsicum,
01:21 which I've cut into medium cubes,
01:23 and some onion petals as well.
01:26 Now we're going to season this with some salt.
01:30 Now I'm just going to toss this in the marinade.
01:32 Be a little careful,
01:34 because the tofu is actually quite delicate.
01:36 Set this aside for 15 to 30 minutes
01:41 to get the maximum flavor into them.
01:43 If you're having guests over,
01:45 you can also prepare this and keep it in the fridge
01:47 and use it when they come along.
01:49 Now we're going to pan fry this.
01:51 I have a hot pan over here,
01:53 adding a little bit of oil to it.
01:55 The pan is hot.
01:56 I'm going to start adding the tofu and veggies one by one.
02:00 Once again, the tofu is quite delicate,
02:03 so this is a reminder to treat it delicately.
02:06 Once the pan is full,
02:08 and you can see a little bit of color on the tofu,
02:11 you can start turning it around.
02:13 It has a beautiful golden color,
02:16 and you can really smell the mustard oil coming through.
02:24 Once the tofu is fried from both sides,
02:28 you can take it out.
02:29 In the same way, I'm going to pan fry the rest of the tofu.
02:40 (pan sizzling)
02:43 I'm going to smoke the chickpea tandoori tofu
03:00 with a little bit of hot coal and oil,
03:03 and I'm going to cover it
03:05 to make sure that it smokes properly.
03:08 Our flavorful and crispy tandoori pan fried tofu
03:11 is ready to serve.
03:12 It makes for a great snack during parties,
03:15 but you can also serve it with your meals as a side dish.
