"I lost 7st ditching fast food and making healthy fakeaway versions"

A woman has shed seven stone by ditching fast food and making healthy “fakeaway” versions of her favourite meals.

Georgia Tulk, 30, has even gathered 15k followers on Instagram who love her 'junk food’ recipes and weight loss tips.

She makes healthy versions of some of the nation’s favourite fast-food like Nando’s, McDonalds, and KFC.

Georgia noticed the weight piling on her in teens after she began indulging in regular Chinese takeaways and pizza.

The self-confessed ‘'secret-eater'’ battled bullies in school and often turned to food for comfort.

At her biggest Georgia tipped the scales at 25st 7lbs and was wearing a size 28 in

She felt so large she ''held in a wee for seven hours'' during a flight to Dubai because she was too embarrassed to squeeze down the aisle.

In November 2022 Georgia decided it was time to ditch the pounds but was determined to still enjoy the food she loved by making low-fat, healthy versions.

In under a year she has managed to shed a whopping seven stone – dropping down to 18st 7lb and a size 22.

Georgia, a communication and engagement officer, from Southampton, Hampshire, said: “I’ve made healthy versions of McDonald’s breakfast muffins, KFC chicken and a Chinese takeaway.

“I make pizzas, tacos, burgers, cheese toasties - nothing is off limits.

“I’ll swap out butter or cheese for low fat versions and use lean meat.

“I make everything from scratch, so you know exactly what is going into it.

“I’ll never have a lettuce bun instead of actual bread!

“I love food and I've found healthier ways to enjoy it."

Georgia, who is married, began gaining weight during secondary school and other kids started to "notice" and "comment" on her appearance.

Her comfort eating became worse when she got her first car, AT WHAT AGE, as she started going to drive-thru's like McDonald's and Starbucks for breakfast and lunch.

In the evenings, she would indulge in Domino's pizza and Ben and Jerry's ice cream.

She said: "I was definitely a big secret eater.

"When I was younger I was insecure and lacked a lot of confidence.

"I struggled with nasty comments from people, and food was my escape."

Georgia tried to lose weight a few times over the years, but nothing seemed to work for her.

She was mortified in August 2010 during a trip to Thorpe Park, Surrey, when the rollercoaster strap wouldn't fit and she had to get off the ride.

One another occasion, she was too embarrassed to ask for a seatbelt extender on an aeroplane, so spent the flight without one.

"I could never wear nice fashionable clothes because of my size," she said.

"I made excuses not join in and do things like paintballing, because I feared the overalls would fit.

"I'd had enough and was determined to make a change."

In November 2022, Georgia downloaded the calorie counting app My Fitness Pal, and signed up the gym.

She got a personal training and completely overhauled her diet - ditching the takeaways for healthy, whole foods.

00:28 And I was really impressed with it, actually.
00:30 I didn't know if I was gonna like it,
00:31 but it was really, really tasty.
00:33 Had some sugar-free strawberry water,
00:35 and then I had these chicken satay bites.
00:36 They're high in protein, low calorie,
00:38 and just quick and easy to snack on, basically.
00:40 They were really good.
00:41 And then I went to the gym, taking my water with me.
00:44 So I go with my personal trainer, she's amazing.
00:46 32 and a half degrees, by the way.
00:48 There I am in a garden, doing my little overhead pulls.
00:52 This is the board, and I did finish the last set,
00:55 but we forgot to write it up.
00:56 I burnt 614 calories, came home, finished my water,
00:59 and then I made my dinner,
01:00 which was a Greek-style chicken flatbread,
01:02 which was unreal.
01:04 And then I finished my day with a snack,
01:05 and I had a skinny whip bar.

01:11 So weigh day today, I lost three pounds,
01:12 which is a total of five stone,
01:13 11 pounds since November last year.
01:15 Got my drinks for the morning, cup of tea,
01:17 and only the real ones will know
01:18 what was in that Starbucks cup.
01:20 I'm addicted to it, might I add.
01:22 Downed my cup of tea, had my breakfast,
01:23 a crumpet, some skinny food,
01:24 raspberry jam, and some blueberries.
01:26 I also had a skinny food meal for my lunch too.
01:28 It was 189 calories, and it was like a chicken tikka
01:31 with rice, and I added some coriander.
01:32 It was really, really tasty.
01:34 So, so nice.
01:35 I then was finishing up with work,
01:37 so I had a quick packet of skips
01:39 before my personal trainer,
01:40 and then I made my way there with my secret drink there.
01:43 This is my personal trainer's studio,
01:45 and I absolutely love coming here.
01:46 Sasha's brilliant, she motivates me,
01:48 she makes me feel driven.
01:50 She literally makes me feel like nothing is impossible,
01:52 and what more could you want from a personal trainer?
01:54 And there I am, running for a whole minute.
01:56 And I know that doesn't sound a lot,
01:58 but to me, that's a massive deal.
02:00 So yeah, I burnt over 700 calories,
02:01 and then I was just checking out
02:03 my ever-changing body shape in the mirror,
02:05 and then this was my dinner.
02:07 So I had garlic flatbreads with minted lamb on top,
02:09 and peppers, onions, coriander, mozzarella cheese,
02:13 yogurt and mint sauce, absolutely unreal,
02:15 and then finished the day with snacks
02:16 with fruit pastilles, ice lolly,
02:18 and some cookies from the Skinny Cookie Company.
